I really like the way Rushu put it. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I believe in God and Jesus as separate beings. I believe that God is an omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient being. He has existed for eternity and will exist for eternity. I also believe that He is a God of science. He follows the natural laws of the universe and accomplishes everything though natural means. I feel that is a common misconception people have about religion, that someone either believes in God or believes in science. I believe in both. What is your least favorite part/subject in math? Can you explain how to simplify Advanced Trigonometric Expressions? If you were to join one religion that focuses on a higher being, which one do you think sounds most logical and which would you join? What college do you teach at? Do you get annoyed at having to answer the questions in this thread? Do math professors ever discover new equations and methods, just to annoy students? When you created the website, did you foresee how the “Contact Methods” in our profiles would be used? What I mean is, instead of adding contact methods, people use those letters as acronyms and create their own little phrase.

Ya, I have had this thought as well. There is some special relation between Kaladin and Tanavast, but we don’t know what it is. I think it is either a familial relation or Tanavast planned for Kaladin to take up his Shard eventually, possibly both.

I theorize that you get negatives when a trait of yours repulses a spren. For example, an honorspren would hate a lightweaver because Lightweavers are perfectly fine with breaking oaths and going back on their word. -
I can explain the brush strokes and engraving part pretty easily. In Ancient Terris they didn’t know that Ruin could change text, so they wrote everything. The Lord Ruler knew that Ruin could change text so he ordered everything important to be engraved. I found this

The steel alphabet is the only thing that survived in common culture, but the terris/keepers had some records and the kandra had ALL the knowledge. If you look at an evolutionary tree, you can see that one thing can evolve into a different thing AND into something by that is similar to the original.

Maybe it is the evolution of writing over time. On Roshar it is made clear that over time the glyphs have changed and adapted to the culture and environment. Perhaps as time progressed on Scadrial a similar process happened, resulting in a seemingly new language that is actually just a drastically altered version of the original.

I think that Harmony used his knowledge during his first few moments of ascension to derive the Feruchemical symbols. I am sure they the keepers knew bits and pieces, and when Harmony ascended, he was able to collect it all together and then fill in the gaps with supremely well-educated guesses. In RoW, Harmony sends a letter to Hoid. There is also a WoB that says that we have seen a kandra in the book. We know that kandra are the agents and spies of Harmony.

Era 2 happens after the first 5 Stormlight books, and we have seen proof of Harmony’s interactions and spies on Roshar. I wonder if the contest of champions on Roshar led Sazed to realize that this would eventually come to his planet, and he needed to take action now.
