Mostly agreed with other points, but GB are also interested in getting Radiants. Just because he might have been on his way to being a Radiant doesn't mean he couldn't have been GB. Also we don't actually know where the majority of the shards are. Most speculate Shinover, but I'm sure there's some hidden around Roshar in unlikely places.

I thought they were the Singer's souls. Humans are represented as flames but maybe the Singers are different? They are closer to the CR. I'll have to reread that section now LOL

Maybe this could be its own thread?

I'm curious to see how most people discovered that the Cosmere is an interconnected series. I was the first in my friend group to read any of Brandon Sanderson's work so had no one to spoil anything for me. I'm sad to say I was almost done with the entire Cosmere collection before realizing they were connected. I read the first two SA books, Mistborn, Elantris, and had gotten Arcanum and Warbreaker from the library. I chose to read Warbreaker first and it finally tipped me off. I remember hitting the section with Hoid and being confused. I had read the name before hadn't I? I skimmed through the entire book, thinking I had forgotten a character that was introduced at the start of the book, until I remembered Hoid was Wit's other name. I was confused but assumed Brandon had just accidently used the same name twice (Other authors have done it). I googled it anyways only to discover that Hoid was a cameo character that had been in every book. I thought it was a cool idea but still didn't realize the books were connected (Nightblood was also irritatingly familiar). Then I started Secret History. I remember reading the section where Kelsier is having his mind blown by Khriss. I remember setting the book down and staring at the wall while all the pieces fell into place. I was stunned to say the least. I found this site that night and did a lot of reading:-) All that to ask: How did you discover that the Cosmere was an interconnected series?

I can't remember if it's Canon or not if the Hearalds can sense each other. (Help!) I remember reading that about Honorblades, but think it was in an older version of WoK. If they can sense each other, it would work a lot like hemalurgy. The knife would have stolen the part of his soul that connected him to the others.

I wouldn't get too excited. All it says is that someone tried to leave. Other wobs have said he's going to keep all the stories in the cosmere. So I'm pretty sure when they try, they will fail.

That Lonely Rampager- how the crew would refer to Vin when texting.

@Kingsdaughter613 wow! That's the most likely theory on F-Lerasium that I've ever read:-) It makes a lot of sense on so many levels.

Just want to pop in to say: a pardon and forgiveness are to very different things. A pardon is saying you won't be punished for your crime. Forgiveness is saying your crime is forgotten. One's an issue of legality while the other is an issue of morality. Why does Kaladin feel the need to protect both parshendi and humans? Maybe because he realized they're all people? Only he can say for sure though.

Abilities across Magic Systems
Steel Inquisitive replied to Bigmikey357's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I am curious what would happen if a Bondsmith had f-duralumin. Would he be able to use Spiritual adhesion to form connections and then store it right away? If he was storing would it be easier to form the connections? Thoughts @Bigmikey357 -
Considering what we don't know about medallions and their creation, I stand in my belief that we don't know if spikes are necessary. Have a good day.
-
I wasn't making an argument? The only thing I said was that there was doubt that medallions don't need spikes somewhere in their creation/use. You said "spikes are not necessary". With no proof or evidence when we know nothing about how they're made. All I did was say there's doubt about how they're made. I agree with Pathfinder. (Assuming you don't need to spike to create new medallions.) Edit: I wrote the above, but waited before posting to reread the older posts. I see I might have miss interpreted your original statement. Perhaps you meant your statement more narrowly then I was thinking. If you were thinking that since we have the medallions already, there will be no need for future spiking and thus spikes are not necessary, it make more sense to me. I was thinking broadly. If spikes were used at anytime during their crelation then they are necessary.
-
I was addressing your statement that "spikes are not necessary" something your willing to state as fact without proof. At least I qualified my statement.
-
Sazed wasn't sure if she was used to allomancy to burn instinctively yet. On the other hand, Elend started instinctively burning within seconds of becoming Mistborn. Also you're assuming with that statement that spikes aren't involved with medallions which lots of people doubt.

I don't remember it that way. (Granted it's been awhile since I read OB last.) I believe you're referring to the scene where the captain says the bond can be split anytime before the fifth oath. I don't think he meant to imply that it was common for Radiants to achieve the fifth oath. Just that the bond couldn't be split afterwards.

What form are parshendi born as? Is there like a "kid" form and they transition to adulthood the first time they pick a form? Are they born as whatever their parents were at their conception? (I don't think that one works at all...) By personality? (Doesn't really work because they shouldn't have lost any forms if that were the case.) Are they born without a form? If they are born with a form then where did the spren come from? Any thoughts?
-
I think you're missing the point. The exact wording: Is in past tense. It doesn't say anyone who is born in Kharbranth. It very carefully says those who have been born there. The next generation is screwed.

I picked Dalinar. He's the most interesting character I've read in a long time.
