Don't worry. Your english is really good. And you aren't the only non-native speaker around. It will be fine.

Syen walked through the compound, her guards a step behind her, looking for someone she could ask what was going on and if she could help somehow. When she heard the gurgling sound and the thump of a body hitting the floor she started running towards the origin. It took her a moment to understand the situation and another one to recognize the fact, that she was definitly the wrong person to be here. Throwing her rolling pin at the Black armored person first, she then tired to encase him in a completely black illusion, hoping he wouldn't be able to see through it. At least it wasn't something she could do. Then she turned around, yelling for help as loud as she could. Edit:

Find out that I have to betray my oath. I can't even tell you why, because the Elantrians get "repaired" and we don't know how SA will end. And there's the torture to think of. But still my gut says "take the oath"... Would you rather hold ruin or odium (meaning the shards)? -
Welcome to the shard! You asked after books You could also try out: Brent Weeks - Lightbringer Series Brian McClellan - Powder Mage Triology Jim Butcher - Codex Alera David Hair - Moontide Quartet. And you should definitly take a look at the Alleyverse. It doesn't matter if you are an experienced role player or Not!

Just keep the books in mind and if you do try them out tell us if you liked them. I don't read a lot of YA stuff either, but they convinced me.

"I'm really sorry to cut that short, but we need to get into the Canton." Syen informed the man. @Stormblessed Dolphin "I'll take the army, you can come with us if you want to." Without waiting for his reply she headed into the command tent and grabbed everything lying there. She wouldn't leave the maps and messages unprotected and alone behind. "Tell everybody to pack what they can and prepared to move. Everybody. The stuff, the message boys and whoever else is here. Fokus should be food, Medical supplies and afterwards other supplies we shouldn't loose". Mio hasted away and she put both hands on the table, taking a deep breath. She closed her Eyes, took a few minutes to Compose herself. "Tell them to also bring supplies like spheres filled with stormlight and whatever else we've got here." She asked without looking up to see who left. Storms she was exhausted. A none Deep exhaustion that threatened to overhelm her any second. She's been awake for so many days, she didn't even know what day it was. Forcing herself to open her eyes she grabbed the bag with the paper and everything else she found on the table and seemed worth saving and left the tent. "Give the order to march." She told Mio and got on her horse. "To the canton." When they arrived at the Canton she asked Mio to organize their people and find them a space to stay. Then she took the remaining two guards and went looking for someone who seemed to be in charge.

Feruchemist. Because I would make a real bad Jedi. Would you rather be Lift or Kaladin? -
Yes it is. But that's because a lot of ppl dismiss it as a child's book and don't try it out.

Syen froze for a moment and then turned around, calling for Mio. "We need to leave. NOW!" She shouted, panic rising in her voice. The man blanched, but did what he had to do, collected the soldiers, only about half of them was left and the civilians they had found and started giving orders. "Back to the camp. Just get them out. We will sort through this later. And bring the wounded to me." Syen decided, and then realized that she had just yelled at a man. Astonished of herself she was quiet for a minute and then cut of the remaining illusions. Breathing in stormlight she started to heal everybody so far that they could walk., at least with a bit of help. She wouldn't leave anyone behind. "The first can start to walk for the wall." She told Mio absently minded, while pressing her hand on the leg of man. The man screamed und der the pressure of her fingers and with an apologetic smile she reduced took her hand away, then laid her fingers softly on the wound. She wouldn't let her fear reign herself. Finally she got on her horse and looked at the leaving soldiers hoping there was still some time left. The way out felt longer, panic grabbing at her throat but she forced herself to stay calm, so that the men would stay calm. Gladly they left the city in time, and when she finally looked up and say the thing hanging in the sky she closed her eyes for a moment. This was the solution? You really could have come up with something less finally. she thought, wishing to punch her narrator in the face. When they arrived at the camp, Syen asked Mio to organize the soldiers, to get them something to eat and medical treatment. Then she looked around and saw someone in the cmap she hadn't seen before. With a curse she got down from her horse and gave his reigns to some soldiers walking past. Hesitating she looked over at the man, saw Essun looking at her expectantly and then sighed. There was no choice here. She had to talk to him, find out if he was a threat for Tevarahs men or not. They were her responsibilty. "Hello." she greeted him. "I'm Syen. Can I help you?" @Stormblessed Dolphin

My only Problem is: I don't want to spike myself. I mean the powers are great, but to live with spikes in my body for the rest of my live? No Thanks...

If you find a minute you should try them. They are also really good.

Welcome to the shard! And what books do you mean with "rest"?
-
I support that notion. Especially the scholarly part of her should have no problem to accept the fact, that there are beings more powerful than herself, maybe even so powerful and abstract that she can't completely unterstand them. But that is something completely different from believing in a god that watches over you/ jugdes what you do/... A power you can strife to unterstand, something that will never be possible with god, imo.

Syen looked over the soldiers waiting for her decision and a thought entered her mind. She didn't know where to employ them best, but that didn't mean, that she couldn't use them somewhere else. "Mio." She spoke his name quietly and walked a few steps away form the discussion of Devaan and Solace. Essun followed her and wrapped herself around her leg. She seemed strangely playfull in this mess. Maybe it was, because Syen finally spoke more than a few words. She pushed the thought away, not wanting to spend time pondering. She could do that afterwards. "Keep some of the men here, to secure this street. Tell the rest to search the houses. Someone always hides instead of going to safety. And deploy some men to watch the streets around us. I want to know at least a part of what's going on." Mio saluted and went away barking orders. Silently Syen turned around and stood close to the two men. She didn't really listen to their words, thinking about what else she could do here. @Jehoiada

Would it be possible to change the list of characters in the first post with the alphabetical list? Then you would have the sorted overview over the characters directly when you open this thread.

We definitly need more details!!! When you're rewatching Grey's Anatomy, see two people pierce by a lamppost and can't help wondering if that could count as an hemalurgic spike and if yes what effect it would have. -

I can see what you mean. But tha would mean that I'd have to read alle the books up to this point to understand what's going on. And I have a lot of books lying next to bed that really interest me, so I don't think that will happen anytime soon. What other authors do you like, next to Brandon?
-
Now that's a hard question. My first book was Elantris, so it has a special meaning for me. My favourite one is The Emperor's Soul, if it counts as a book. If I had to choose from one his longer works it's something close between Warbreaker/ Oathbringer. I can't really decide. I like them all. I have to admit that I stopped WoT somewhere around the sixth book. It didn't realy work for me.

That's an interessting choice. Not many name Raoden. I personally like Shai a lot. She doesn't give up, especially when the world is against her. Which was your first book of Brandon you'vre read?
