A Cadmium compounder of course. (Totally not a weighted answer) Would you rather win a million dollar OR read SA 4? -

Mio returned to her side after a short while telling her a number, that was more than she had fingers. A lot more. With a sigh she turned to him, looking at Tevarah's troops and the refugees they had collected on their way here. "All right." she started, then stopped to think about what she was going to say. "Tell some of them to escort the civilians to the Canton of Combat. And I think they should stay there. I feel like they can be lucky if most of them arrive there living, so yes, they should stay there." Mio's face didn't change a bit, but she could sense him smilig underneath his professional mask. "All right." She fully turned to face him. "Just tell me, if I'm doing this completely wrong, because I have no idea, what I am doing." Anger started boiling in her, anger at the fighting, at Tevarah, at the world and at herself. Everybody was so confident, so sure of themselves. Only she wasn't able to do something without questioning herself for hours. Before and after she opened her mouth. The man seemed shocked at her words, and quickly shook his head. He then turned around and marched to an officer, talking to him. Syen felt at the illusions, breathing in the storm. It felt good. Better than anything she had experienced so far. The stormlight was glorious, raging inside of her, fueling her movements, her very self. The officer and his men marched away, taking the civilians and she waited for a while, before cutting the thread that connected her to their illusion, dismissing it. She didn't know who was at the Canton at the moment, but they should be allies. And it didn't help if their allies killed them. Grasping at the anger, kindling it a bit she turned around to Devaan and Solace. "I won't go away, until I know where to send these men." she informed them, although she hadn't really given them a chance to reply to her yet. It didn't matter. Nothing mattered in this sea of fire and death. Maybe except the fact that she would really like to give Tevarah his troops back. @Jehoiada

Steelrunner. Because I like them and I'd love to have their skill set. Would you rather be a Member of House Hasting (TFE) or of House Sadeas (WoR)? -

Syen stared at Tevarah as he flew away and was struck speechless for a moment. He left? He left and told her to lead his army? "Storms." she muttered under her breath and looked again at the figure vanishing in the distance. That was not what she had expected. And it was nothing she was prepared for. She felt like screaming, like running away and hiding in a silent spot until this was over. "Syen. Breathe." Essun's voice was silent, and she did what she told her. Breathe. "Calm down. That is not the time for an hysterical fit." That was easier said than done. "You can do this. At least you can try. You swore to help, did you forget that." Syen closed her eyes. Concentrating on her breathing. Essun was right, this wasn't the time for her to be weak. "No, I haven't" She replied quietly. "He wanted his army in the city. So I'll tell them to go there and then I'll ask someone where their needed." Essun settled on her arm, a calming soothing presence. "Essun, I can't do this witout talking to people I don't know. And I'm really bad at talking with strangers." Her guards threw her a strange look and Syen shifted her weight uneasily. Without really thinking about it, she drew in more stormlight to sustain the illusions. There wasn't anything she could do to change the situation. Except running away and hiding. But if she was honest with herself. Then that wasn't an option. "Tell them to move to the city." She told Mio. "I don't know the commands, but you do, don't you?" She looked at him and he nodded. "All right. Then you will translate what I tell you into commands they can understand." She felt the eyes of the other two men on her back and imagined them grinning, making fun of her. And rightly so. When she looked around everybody was a better fit for this position than she was. But she would try, of course she would try. She'd neven given up on a patient bevor he was dead. In a very abstract way, this was the same. And there were helpless people in the city that needed the help of these soldiers. "Tell them to move into the city over there." She added, pointing to a section of the wall where Solace reserve had entered and where some the meekers had landed. Mio shouted something and Tevarah's men changed their course, but Syen didn't really listen to what he said. She searched through her bag, opening some bottles, sniffing them and putting them back until she found the right ones. One for her head and one to stay awake. Drowning them she carefully stored the empty bottles again. Hopefully her headache would subside in a few minutes. "Dispatch some men, to look at the streets and search for a mostly save way. We need to get to Solace." Again Mio shouted something and then she saw men running towards to city. She didn't stop the rest and after a short while, way too short if you asked her, they entered the city. At first they followed the path the reserve had taken, then one of the runners came back and told them the general direction in which someone had seen Solace. A few of the men were already fighting, but she couldn't help it, the whole city was a battlefield. She could only pray that there was something left for Tevarah to take over - when he came back. Again she closed her eyes, pushed her terror and disgust away from her. She was here to help and she would do it. Even if she hadn't expected to take that role in this fight. When she saw the man she had stiched together at the hospital ( @Nohadon ) standing next to Solace and some soldiers with glowing violett eyes she turned to Mio. "Could you please count what we have left?" The man nodded and turned away, shouting orders, telling the men to block the street. Still some of them were fighting, Tevarah's healers trying to save as many of them as possible. Not many would survive this fight. She knew that, as she knew the taste of peppermint. Syen walked over to the man and Solace, one hand a death grip on her bag. Now she only had to talk to them. Taking a deep breath she realized, that she hadn't felt the need the to replenish her stormlight since they entered the city, since this storm was above them. "You can do that, Syen." Essun murmered and Syen walked closer, stopped before them. "Tevarah gave me his army." she stated, completely forgetting to greet them, of maybe tell the man her name. "Where do you need his men most?" @Mraize

But it's really, really beautiful... and sad...
-
It depends on the Covers. Mostly I prefer the US Covers but sometimes the one for the UK is better. My Sanderself is a mixture of both, depending on what I can get my hands on as early as possible. And for some of the older books I wrapped some transparent foil around their covers, to protect them a bit.

What is the best Sanderson book? (all, not just Cosmere)
Sorana replied to WayneSpren's topic in General Brandon Discussion
This choice is impossible. They are all great and fantastic and brilliant and and and... (feel free to add more adjectives) But to answer the question: Not a full book, but I go with The Emperors Soul. Then Oathbringer/Elantris/Mb1/Warbreaker then the rest But I love them all. -
Yes it did. I just started the Second one and now it makes more sense. Good book, really like it now. It was a while since I got so confused....
