  1. Good question My favourite ones are Marsh and Breeze. Though decision but I went with Breeze. I like this manipulative guy a lot. Sorry Marsh... Least favourite was easy: Yeden. I couldn't get a good grip on him. He felt so negative all the time.
  2. I'd give half of it to my best friend. There aren't so man mistborn around that it would matter if I'm weaker or stronger. The rest of it I'd burn and be really, really happy.
  3. They would definitly make a good Anime. As long as they don't cut it too short or delete too much. An anime definitly can capture the emotions and the fantastic moves/ effects possible through investiture. I think I would perfer them as a movie though, because I love good movies based on good books. And especially in the fantasy/ Sci-Fi Sektion it's great to der the costumes and the world. But I think it would have to be a series, because no movie can include enough of the story to be good and complete.
  4. Not everybody has read every book ^^
  5. That's a difficult one. I'd go with the mistborn, although feruchemy is probably easier to use in our time. But still steelpushing/ ironpulling and slowing/ advancing time around me are definitly worth it. Would you rather live in the final empire (Vin's time) or on the shattered plains (kaladin's time)?
  6. Gladly! And beware the spiked Cookies;)
  7. Yes it is. It's an ffrp here in the forum. You can find it if you scroll down the page and go to the rpg section. There is a subforum of the alleyverse. In there you can find some guides how to start and what it is and so on. Just read through them and you can start if you want to.
  8. It's all right. I didn't want to pressure you. I'm simply looking forward to it, that's all
  9. And I'm really looking forward to what he will do. And how he will change over the years, what kind of "man" he will become. I like him a lot. For me he was one of the most tragical characters of Era 1. @rioter10098 You really should read Secret History. It offers a great view behind the scenes.
  10. That's the moment some says "Brandon Sanderson" and all non Sanderfans roll their eyes and start a different topic... *waits impatiently for the next round to start*
  11. To sell things like these you need the right to use the symbols and so on. And that's the point were it gets difficult. I once thought about selling medival/ Fantasy costumes on the Internet. But then I feared that it would destroy the Hobby due to the preassure. So I only sew for those I know. They buy the materials and then I get to work. Makes a good birthday present and if I need another month because I get distracted by a diary and the dicing cup (which I also finished) then nobody is angry.
  12. When you greet a friend at work with "What happened? And good morning btw" He just started listening to WoK....
  13. An honorblade (giving the surge of progression). I love nightblood, but progression would be so usefull atm. Would you rather become a Sand Master or a Forger?
  14. Since it would be hard to get some stormlight irl I'd go with Allomancy. Ferucemy in General would be more usefull, but there is one thing about Allomancy I'd prefer irl. I don't need to be a full a mistborn, it would be enough to "create" a bit of time for myself nobody else has. Then I could do my housework and meet with friends at the same evening. Or I'd be able to make more stuff for the next convention. Or strech a pen and paper evening and still can sleep enough.
  15. Hallo and welcome! Do you have a favourite character?
  16. Hi! And (a late) welcome to the shard!
  17. I wanted to reread the whole SA this summer and then realized that that will have to wait a few months. I lent them to my parents (a few months ago) and they are really slow readers. So I think I'll listen to them again...
  18. @Slowswift Thanks a lot! Don't worry, I didn't feel pressured. You sound so excited, that's great! When I listened to them I immediatly saw myself sitting outside on the terrace with a glas of wine, relaxing. Don't ask me why. Their music is definitly "softer" (no negative feelings here) than what I usually listen to. I love his voice and each song had something unique, with a lot of different elements combined creating a piece of art. I liked that a lot. I liked Heavy and Why PT. 2 (no surprise here). Him and Hurrican also had something to them that grabbed my attention. She gathers rain, Untitled Track and precious declaration are also part of the crew that joined one of my Spotify Playlists. The more mellow ones were a bit to slow and calm for my taste. But I have to admit that I was pretty excited while listening to the songs, and that simply wasn't the right mood for them. And then there was one title that flashed me totally and I listened to it several times. AYTA. Something about the chorus and the words and the melody, I couldn't get it out of my head and I had to show it to my best friend. That song definitly hit a nerve. To sum up: Good that I asked what band you were talking about! They are definitly more visitor friendly than my usual choices and I added them to some of our playlists. AYTA is still crawling around in my head and I like it there. I don't think I will listen to them on a daily basis, but I will definitly look through their other songs. You can consider me convinced.
  19. Syen left the tent and looked around. The first thing she noticed was the storm moving over the city. She thought she could feel his power even up here and it was exhilarating, enticing. It didn't take long and a man handed her a bag full of spheres, all glowing with stormlight. With a short thank you she turned around and went to her horse. She needed to get a better view if she was to attempt anything usefull. The three men Tevarah had assigned to her followed her and after a short silent debate she turned around and shot them a quick smile. "Thank you. And I really hope you won't have to do anything." One of them saluted and Syen only smiled a bit longer, although more strained, giving up on words. She didn't know what to say. Shards they expected to die for her. That was wrong. She breathed in the stormlight, added it to the reserve she hadn't used so far. It felt good, great, unbeatable. Her tired head stopped hurting, her vision felt clearer. And there was more, much more. A smile formed on her lips, a real smile. She could really help here. She rode to the first unit and the moment she arrived there someone came, asking what she needed while shooting a nervous glance at the three men behind her. Having some of Tevarah's guards around definitly paid off. She asked him to put his men into the order they would march, then pulled out a sphere. She closed her eyes envisioning what she wanted to do. Colour them differently, make them more harmless. That was hard. If she chose something similar to the tentakled Black Crousade they would be attacked by their allies. Refugees didn't work because they would never move in a formation. And she couldn't change each person here, that was far beyond her abilities. So in the end she simply changed the colours of those in front and on the sides, dampened their sounds, covered the gleam of their weapons a bit. Their faces she left as they were, nobody would look at a single body, it was the general impression that she wanted to change. She planed to create one illusion for the unit, one bigger one, instead of dozen smaller ones. If they couldn't keep their formation it would be useless, but it was the only way she felt she had a chance to give all of them a bit of protection. Otherwise she would need a day or two. Hopefully that would make them harder to discover, and in the end that was everything she hoped for. Exhaling she bound the illusion to herself and more importantly to the sphere. She would feed it, but the sphere would determine it's location. In the end she asked the officers to keep an eye open for the refugees and moved on. It was easier the second time, because she already knew what to do and what she wanted. Exhaling again she created a seconed illusion and then a third, a fourth. Her hand closed around a new bag of spheres several times and she inhaled again, before weaving the next strands thogether. It took her a while, but she was finished by the time the order to march was given. Her head throbbed and she needed a lot of stormlight to maintain what she had created, but to her it seemed like it worked. At least until they entered the city. But down there was a blazing chaos and it wasn't like she could make an army completely invisible. And looking a bit less threatening could at least help. When she returned to Tevarah she felt light headed, exhausted. The illusions a constant strain she wasn't used too. And even with enough stormlight they captured a part of her mind, just to keep them in order to sustain them. "I'm done." She reported. "If you want to change something I can do that. I bound them to spheres so that they would move with your men, und instead of me." Distracted she inhaled more stormlight. And looked critically at his soldiers. At her work. "I'll stay closed by so that I can change something if you want me too." @Jehoiada
  20. "I can't write." Syen blurted out, then immediatly added. "What I mean is, I can't compose a message, because I can't write it down," embarressed she felt her cheeks turn red. "And thank you for the guards, that's more than I ever would have dared to ask for. I just wanted you to know what I can do and what I can't, so that you can plan and" She stopped herself the moment she realised she was rambling. "Thank you, that's what I wanted to say." Suppressing a sigh she looked down at Essun. Her spren just sat there, content that she had gotten her to talk to someone. With the result, that she felt like she was really making a fool out of herself right now. Gathering her courage she answered his smile with one of her own. "I could go, brief a messenger what to say to them? Or is there anything else that needs to be prepared? I'm not sure how much time we have left. The situation in the city was pretty dire when I decided to come back here." @Jehoiada
  21. Good question: Atm I'm listening a lot to Manowar, Sabaton, Nightwish, Powerwolf and Epica. Sometimes I listen to another band more, but in general, that's the kind of music I prefered over the last years. So I think "heavy" would fit me better, but I also would like to listen to a mellow one. I'm relatively open, as long as the quality of the music is high (and I got that impression when I looked them up).
  22. Syen stepped a bit closer, despite the dire situation feeling light and happy. He had really told her, that she could help. There was something she could do, something despite running around and escorting people. "If I can help, I'll stay." She answered immediatly and and then hesitated: "I'm no fighter. I do have medical training, but the moment someone tries to kill me I'm dead as soon as my stormlight runs out. But I think you guessed as much from the fact that I don't even have a weapon." She was silent and saw Essun skip over the floor in front of her, urging her to continue speaking. "I told some refuguees to go in this general direction, because I didn't know where to send them. That was before the message. So if you plan on going there, is there a possibility to take them?" Essun sat on her foot as she fell silent again. Syen looked at her and closed her eyes for a moment. Sometime she wished, that she was braver when it came to a situation like this. It was easier when she was alone gathering plants, or looking after patients, too ill to speak. She always feared to say something wrong, to offend people. And from trying so hard not to do that, she usually did. Looking down at her feet she added: "I don't know what you're planing, but with enough stormlight I could maintain an illusion to disguise your men. I would need a lot, and it wouldn't be as good as a smaller one I have more time to make, but it could work at least at a fleeting glance. Maybe changing the colours or the armour. Something like that." @Jehoiada
  23. Syen closed her fingers around the ruby she'd taken out, and thought about the words. They touched something deep inside of her. She had only entered this place a few weeks ago - she had none of this deep friendships, but she was here to help. And maybe she could do more than helping the refugees. Closing her eyes she breathed, then looked over at the man standing next to the table, waiting for his reaction. @Jehoiada
  24. I get what you're aiming at. It's simply that (especially during the last conversation) I got the impression that he had wished to find something on this throne. And when it was empty that destroyed something in him. When he realized there wasn't a net, someone to catch him or condemn him after the sacrilege he'd commited, that there would be no direct consequences. Then he changed to the Corypheus we were presented. Because he had to fill the role of god, as there was nobody else. I don't know if that's all written in his dialogues, or if that's a lot of interpretion on my part, but it made him a great villian.
