  1. When your husband comments your rereading a Sanderson book with "Don't you know it by Heart???" And your like "Doesn't matter..."
  2. I'd go with Elantris. It will always have a special place in my heart as it was the first book of Sanderson I read. I love the rune magic in combination with the countryside and the characters were great as well. And the Seons. If it was possible I'd love to have one for myself.
  3. My First book was Elantris, back in 2005/ 2006. I was still in school looking for a book to present to the class dir my english lesson. In the end I chose Sabriel by Garth Nix, as it was easier to understand in english, but finished Elantris anyway (though in german as I wanted to really understand what was going on). I also liked Sabriel but missing a few details here and there didn't feel so grave as with Elantris. Since then I'm waiting for a new book to hit the Market and read it. (In english as I don't want to wait for the German version...)
  4. I just finished replaying the Mass Effect Triology (with modded ending and the dlcs) and startet replaying Dragon Age Inquisition. In between I switch to Kingdom Come Deliverance or Witcher 3.
  5. I'm rereading Mistborn and reading Age of War by Michael J Sullivan.
  6. Assuming everybody will be back again and I don't have to prepare for surviving in my own: I'll take a plane to the beach with a good book in my pocket and spend the day reading. No tourists around, nobody wants to sell me anything and no work.
  7. I just thought of another: David Hair's Moontide Quartet. It's about two countries separated by water but every 12 years the water gets low enough for a bridge to emerge connecting them. It's a really interesting setting with well written characters.
  8. Me neither, but yes, another story with Shai would be great. But that's complaining on an high level. The most important thing is, that Brandon continues writing.
  9. You could try Anthony Ryan with his Raven's Shadow Triology or the Draconis Memoria Triology. Both high fantasy and in my opinion a bit like the books you mentioned. Lynn Flewlling's Nightrunner Series are a bit older, but a great read. Or yo utake a look at Michael J Sullivan, for example his Riyria Chronicles. I don't know if you like flintlock fantasy, but if you do, or want to give it a try, then you could try the Powder Mage Triology by Brian McClellan
  10. Thank you all! I'm glad I'm here
  11. Hi Niteshado, glad that you like the name To be honest I'd like to keep my breath, but if you don't want to keep yours I'll take it. My favourite charakter: Now it gets difficult. I don't have one single favourite character. There are many I like, but if I only have to choose one it'd be Shai. Despite the fact that we don't get to see as much of her as of Kaladin or Vin (...). I like the way she stayed true to herself and found a way to create something beauttiful and honest, despite being pushed and controlled the whole way.
  12. Hi everybody =) I'm Sorana from Germany, so english is not my native language (sorry for any mistakes). I started reading Brandons books back in 2005 (Elantris) and I have been following him since then, first reading the german versions, later changing to the original english ones. I've been a shadow here for a while and now decided to make an account. Greetings, Sorana
