She tried playing matchmaker with Jasnah, what else?
-
So do we have a term coined yet? Shallin? Shadolin?

I think spren died at the Betrayal (not just became mindless). The idea of Honor died then, and with it honorspren and possible Honor itself.

* Sadeas would know that Gavilar is alive. With Gavilar alive and Dalinar becoming more like him, I double he would have tried to get him killed at the tower. * Why would Gavilar's bodyguard have the sphere? Why would he give it to Szeth, when keeping it hidden would have meant Gavilar would take it back? * Why would Gavilar's bodyguard want Dalinar to find the words? * Gavilar would have had to be one of the 2 guards escaping with Sadeas. That means another illusion put in place, and that at least 1 more guard besides Sadeas knows about it. * Why would Shallash put illusions on people? She's busy with her own things. * Why would Gavilar's bodyguard hesitate when he saw Jasnah? I give this theory 0.1% chance of being true

JesseQ - good analysis. I also think at least 1 Kholin will die in this WoR. Dalinar is protected by Kaladin and Bridge 4, and we've seen they are serious about guarding him. I don't think he will die in this book, I think he will survive, but it will be costly on his new bodyguards. Renarin is an interesting character, and seems to have a lot of potential. But he does need a catalyst, and he needs to be put in a position of power. Highprice might be too much now, so heir might do. Adolin is actually a character I like. He's got a nice transformation in TwoK. But he does look like he's the one to die. His death will not only be a catalyst for Renarin, but for Shallan as well (made widow before the marriage) and Dalinar.

The journal entries definitely look like something bad happened, but certainly not a Desolation. I might even say that it's not even related to the voidbringers. There are only weeks until we shall find out, but let me make my predictions Alethi push deep in the shattered plains, almost destroying the parshendi, when ... 1) something like midnight essence strike. 2) dead parshendi rise up as zombies and kill the altehi. 3) Renarin and Adolin have a fight about Shallan, Renarin destroing half of the alethi army because he cannot control his powers. 4) an army of hundres of shardbearers appears and kills the alethi. 5) my favorite - Kalladin and Bridge 4 now containing more surgebinders are sick with the killing of Parshendi and starts fighting the alethi. I think the voidbringers are the parshendi gods, not the parshendi themselves. Navani gets to understand the parshendi can bind spren in a process somehow similar to fabrials.

I think there are enough threads about this. To add though my interpretation: like Arook above, I think Dalinar, Elhokar and Kaladin must declare themselves KR.
-
One's actions determine what kind of spren he attracts, then the spren will bond with that person, and modify his sDNA.
-
Now, did nobody commented on the Parshendi songs? Their connection to Shadesmar? Seems to me there is a deep connection there. Is Dawnchant maybe connected to Shadesmar too? And the Dawnsingers ... they are believed to be spren... but what if they really were ... parshmen???

I think this might be overly simple. And it does not account for all the facts. Did all Nahel bonded spren died? Because I had the impression that Syl it's not at her first bond. And if not all died, then who got to live? And what happened - did they go back in the cognitive? Stay and roam Roshar? Going back to Syl - has she been roaming Roshar all this time since the Recreance, or she came from Shadesmar to Kaladin? So here's another theory - what if there really was an internal strife in the KR orders, even fighting - and in that fight, KR killed other KR and their spren?

Ha, maybe lighteyes are descendants of the Radiants? Not those that got the shards, but actual KR ?

Kaladin betrays Dalinar in Words of Radiance

Interesting. +1 from me... it's plausible.

If you read carefully Chapter 1, there is a contract involved.

Erm, no. Bonds have been around for a few years, Renarin had his weakness way before that. There is a theory that Dalinar forgetting his wife is actually the Nightwatcher's boom, and Renarin's blood weakness his curse. I don't think Renarin's blood weakness can be cured like that, since it may have a cognitive element to it as well. IF he will get that fixed, it will be in a .. very different way. But I don't think he will. Also, I hope Renarin will not get corrupted by a spren only he can see.

I think Adolin is going to die and the alliance will resume in the form of marriage with his brother. EDIT: not really, but this will make Shallarin fans happy, so why not?
-
So, what if a spren is needed to ... enhance ... the link with the Shards? W/o the spren, you have the current .. altered... shards

Kaladin betrays Dalinar in Words of Radiance

What if it's not about Kaladin, but Adolin? So we have Adolin vs. Kaladin? -
Theory: Darkness has Experienced Odious Corruption

I initially thought Jasnah's spren was Darkness -
I think his quick departure was because of Gavilar's orders. I think Amaram has more pressing things than chasing Jasnah.

So... in no particular order: 1) spren died at the recreance (probably due to the severing of the bonds?) 2) shallan and adolin? that's gonna be real interesting with renarin around ... really hope it won't go bad because of this 3) the 2 guys were def heralds 4) erm... wassap with jasnah's spren? i initially thought it was darkness 5) i knew elhokar's wife is up to something! 6) what's that pattern? a portal to the cognitive? 7) amaram and jasnah? lemme say that again: amaram and jasnah? ha, it's actually a pretty good match 8) in-depth description of soulcasting in the first chapter? what will be next? 9) navani's journal entries ... how could she have stopped it? does it happen because of an event in the kholin family?
