  1. To "transfer" soulcasting to other KR. We see in one of the visions a KR using a Regrowth fabrial. Why would they not just use an Edgedancer? Since there was such a fabrial, I am sure there were also soulcasters in the times of the KR.
  2. 1) Not very probable 2) Don't think she can already do such a thing, she is new in soulcasting... and soulcasting the blood is pretty dangerous - Jasnah did it only because Shallan was dying. 3) There are no spren in Shinovar, the place Szeth comes from. So it;s very unlikely he had a spren. 4) There are "voluntary" splinters, and splinters created when a Shard is destroyed. It is probable Heralds are voluntary splinters of Honor - splinters that did not destroy Honor. Same with spren - splinters of Honor and Cultivation. Then there is Splintering as in Honor was destroyed, resulting "involunary" splinters, which are also spren. There are also spren there which are not from Cultivation and Honor. Also, Cultivation has not been Splintered (destroyed), so all current Cultivation splinters are "voluntary". 5) You don't "give tasks" to spren. You can create a "magical" effect with the right combination of spren type + stormlight + gem type + gem cut + glyph pattern. 6) Parshendi have kids the normal way - they even have a "form" called mating form in which they are more predisposed to ... make babies. 7) The reason Parshedi assassinated Gavilar was to stop the return of their Gods (presumably voidbringers), and with them, a Desolation...
  3. Guess we'll have to wait and see
  4. I am sure Alakavish was also honorable, just like Szeth is. Still, a honorable person can bring about the end of the world.
  5. Let me add to the string of unfalsiable claims. So maybe ....
  6. The shards are severely limited by intent and by invested power. In this regard, I don't think HARMONY will ever attack Odium. Also, Harmony is much more invested on Scadrial than Odium, so in terms of "available power" Sazed is not 2x more powerful.
  7. Szeth mentions in the Prologue that Blade and Plate were gifts from the gods. So this has to be taken as a viable alternative: they do not "grow" their armor, but rather they are receiving it as gift from a shard. It's not clear also that ALL radiants had Plate and Blade. With Honor dead, it's not even clear they can get new ones though. In the vision, Tanavast said to "return" to the men the shards they bore (plate and blade). So maybe they need to find a way to "clense" them from corruption. And find that hidden cache of course. Another possibility is that the hidden cache is not corrupted, only those given to the people of Feverstone Keep.
  8. The ardentia looks to me like the remains of one of the Transformation Orders of the Radiants. Envisagers probably remains of some other Order, Ghostbloods maybe another order. Darkness leads probably another Order. At the recreance, Windrunners gave their shards to the people of Feverstone Keep, so maybe one of the Orders with Transformation gave their soulcasters to the group that eventually made up the ardentia.
  9. dyring - completely agree with you. Mt. T is so much like Pedron Niall. He's smart, and can unite all humankind. But, he's got big flaws. He relies too much on his brilliance He's got a plan, and he's following it. And because of his brilliance, he cannot accept some things. Like PN could not accept the Forsaken were real for example. Dalinar on the other hand, does not have a plan. He's much more dynamic in choices - he can take a decision even if it contradicts everything he used to believe, or a decision he has taken earlier. Dalinar is the one trying to UNDERSTAND what's going on, and will end up with a larger picture than Mr. T.
  10. To become Aes Sedai you had to swear the 3 oaths, enforced by an oath rod. However, Black Ajah found a way to bypass that, and influence the path of the Aes Sedai with small things. Plus - the power you GAIN is based on your actions ... once you gained the power (e.g. become full radiant) it's not clear that you can lose your power if you behave differently. Maybe depends on the spren, but we've seen spren can be corrupted.
  11. Hm... I can't believe nobody said this ... but: Black Ajah? What if there was a Black Order?
  12. Good quote. So the Parshendi have come on Roshar to be separated from their gods, while humans have come on Roshar because they were chased from the TH - probably by the Parshendi gods? Now, why do I have this feeling (again) that Odium is not the "enemy"?
  13. Honorspren with his mind lost reverts to a "basic form", similar to a windspren. When they are able to function (like Syl now) they can change their appearance according to personality - so you might have a guy honorspren. So I don't think there are different "families". Plus, they give access to the same set of surges - and this is a bit tied to their "ancestry" and "basic form" - gravity, pressure => wind. Then you have cultivationspren => when they have their consciousness they can choose how to look - Wyndle wanna look like a vine with a face because his "basic form" probably is a vine - growth => plants (Cultivation). Plus, he was a gardener.
  14. I think the parshendi gods are binding spren
  15. In the prologue, Szeth mentions that blades were "gifted" to radiants by their gods.
  16. An honorspren Honorspren that, when having its mind lost, floats around and is easily confused with a windpspren.
  17. I don't think all Horneaters see spren, only Rocks. Just like not all Vedeans can take Memory, only Shallan.
  18. The Heralds did not led the Radiants. The Radiants were an order that survived many thousands of years, keeping peace and protecting the silver kindgoms, during Desolations and peace time. The Heralds appear only when Desolation start, and probably worked together with the Radiants. But many thousands of years the Radiants were not led by Heralds because the heralds were not there. Radiants were born and died without even knowing or meeting the Heralds. In battle, probably the Heralds had big input in creating the strategies, because they had more experience fighting and knew more of the enemy than the Radiants. So maybe they were temporary battle commanders during Desolations.
  19. honorspren, not windspren. And Honorspren, not Cultivationspren. Double Honorspren.
  20. I don't think it was Alethi Highprinces, just Highprinces, which may be a reference to Szeth killing the Vedean Highprinces and its king.
  21. I think he was defending the borders... Which means that his going to the Shattered Plains was either: * something happened in Alethkar * Dalinar called all troops for a big push against the parshendi
  22. Yeah, with all these discussions and theories here, he can still pull this off
  23. So what if the gods of the parshendi are the Heralds? They did not want the return of their gods, since a Desolation comes with them.
  24. Well, Kaladin sacrificed a few of his men in saving Dalinar. Was that justified? He sacrificed a few of his men in saving Amaram. Yet, his reaction was different in the 2 cases. I did not mean to imply that Kaladin is guilty for what happened, but to point out that Amaram had good reasons to act like he did. The fact that he felt felt guilty for what he did and that he let Kaladin live is just proof that he is not a bad guy, somebody like Sadeas would have killed Kaladin too and would have not felt bad about it. PS: the difference between Amaram sacrificing Kaladin's men and Kaladin sacificing his men was choice. The bridgement chose to fight and die, Kaladin's squad was killed without a choice. This makes Amaram not honourable enough to be a KR (he put destination before journey), but it does not make him as evil as some people here think he is. I have hopes the next book will redeem him
  25. well... Kaladin is now protecting Dalinar. So what if Dalinar does something that kills Kaladin's promises? And Szeth saves Kaladin's life somehow? That would be an interesting twist
