  1. I was thinking, what if the gem pillar requires not only Stormlight or a bondsmith, but a bondsmith leading "tugging" on a radiant from each of the orders, all working together? If all ten types of gemstones are represented on a pillar, each type could require input from the corresponding radiant order. This could also power the corresponding veins running through Urithiru and the essences connected to said gem. So a Truthwatcher would contribute stormlight for the emeralds to regulate the tower's plants and farming, a Windrunner powering the sapphires for air regulation, etc, while all being melded with purpose by the Bondsmith. As the different orders began infighting and abandoning Urithiru, they may have actually caused some the tower's functions to fail as certain gemstones and functions no longer had the proper power supply (rather than radiants leaving because the tower was not functioning). (Extra crazy theory: the 10 thrones are actually fabrials and Urithiru is powered by souls. Ooooooo).
  2. I love cheese puns. They are just so gouda. But my friends are often feta up with them. They camembert it, saying stuff like "Just stop! Leave man! Che! Go!" I go to take my cheese puns for a walk and brie the sweet air.
  3. 1 What does a pepper do when it's angry? 2 I waited and stayed up all night and tried to figure out where the sun was. 3 Why do chicken coups always have two doors? And finally, a classic once told to me by my dad:
  4. Yes yes he's a very sweet and endearing thing, other than the whole eating people's life essence away until they die in a poof of smoke thing. I think he'd actually be distraught about his own abilities, if he had a better understanding of what distraught even meant. The metalmind thing I think is interesting. I'm bad with Scadrial magic systems, what would it take for Nightblood to be able to access a metalmind of memories, emotions, choices, action/consequences, etc?
  5. So it's a sword, but it's alive. But it's sword, so can't experience life as a human, which is the whole problem with the "destroy evil" command. Could Nightblood be given the knowledge/experiences necessary to have him better grasp the natures of good and evil? Using metalminds and/or hermalurgy? (Can you spike a sentient sword?) Boon/curse from the Nightwatcher? Bonding with a human to create better understanding, something akin to the Nahel bond? Could Nightblood be affected by emotional allomancy to experience greater emotions and make connections between actions and feelings?
  6. You don't need to read Warbreaker first, no. When you do, you'll see some familiar things from the Stormlight Archive, but nothing that will change the plot. Also there's a unwritten sequel to Warbreaker that will apparently answer some questions about what happens between Warbreaker and TSA, but we don't have any real details.
  7. Ugh...so many songs....can't.... One Day More from Les Miserables Waka Waka by Shakira Passion by Utada Hikaru
  8. I'm thinking it's not related to Elantris, personally. BUT if it was, then maybe what she is stealing is not stormlight, but an Seon. Maybe the first Skaze? Could references to the storms refer not to Highstorms, but storms on Sel due to the shattering of Aona and Skai?
  9. Wild theory of the day: the Herald Chanarch is a least related to, if not somehow is, Chemoarish. Things I noted, with lots of wild speculation and coincidences (or are they). 1) Chanarach was the patron Herald of the Dustbringers, Chemoarish was sometimes called the Dustmother. 2) Their names are kinda similar. 3)We know Chanarach was in the TWoK or WoR somewhere, but what if she was actually seen not as Herald/person, but rather a spren/cognitive form/ bad influence like the Thrill? 4) The color associated with Chanarach is "ruby".. So when Dustbringers summon their shardblades I assume their eyes turn a light red, which is rather close to what is happening with Odium's influence. (Shalash's color is admittedly "garnet", which is close, so this may be nothing.)
  10. Welp, scientifically your question goes way over my head. Sorry. But I'm going to post some possibly related WoB in the name of potentially helping. Most interesting: Others, less relevant?
  11. Have we seen Lift touch any spren other than Wyndle? Could it be related to their bond?
  12. Also now I'm envisioning a Worldhopper accidentally bringing some terrifying invasive species to Roshar. We've already got a "plague". 17th Shard Headquarters: "Lt. Reman what are these reports I'm receiving about a spider invasion on Roshar?" "We're.....not sure my lady. It's possible Clau had taken some with him as pets and they, um, escaped. And, uh, flourished." "Does NO ONE listen to my lectures on ecological preservation techniques???"
  13. I wonder if a deceased/lost little brother was an idea that started with an earlier draft of something, then ended up being turning into Kaladin and Tien (like how the Shattered Plains were originally meant for a totally different world and book).
  14. It probably is (as a native speaker, I dunno). I just thought it was neat that there's a certain rhyme and reason to to word placement that I've never really thought of, unlike something we use regularly in English (such as having the subject be first) or something that requires a certain about of learning, such as odd past tenses or the rules of different plural suffixes.
  15. I need to talk to you about ablaut reduplication. It's the natural order that English speakers put words into based on vowels and adjective categories, but apparently it's an intuitive part of the language learning for native speakers so it's something you know even though you're never taught it. 16. Can't forget Silence Montane! Badass bounty hunting moms.
  17. Oooh I like this. Also, Sanderson has used the "hey this is strangely familiar" stuff in several places across the cosmere to poke at connections and foreshadowing.
  18. Zelly

    Thunderclasts

Very neat! I really like the 2nd from the left one on the bottom. Also your tiny people. XD
  19. I had forgotten about the glory that is Richard Armitage from the Robin Hood series. I need this man to play Wit. Maybe I have a pinterest board just for him. Don't judge me. Look at his hair.
  20. Your fabric folds are gorgeous.
  21. I assumed it literally meant glowing. I've heard of glowering at someone, but not "glowing eyes" as a phrase. Maybe "glowing with pleasure" or something, but that doesn't really seem to fit either. Also, eyes are kinda important, soul-wise. They glow magically, burn out from shardblades, hint to people you're terrifyingly old, etc. I agree time travel is out (at least....for now) and think instead it might be a side effect of Hoid's "I have trouble hurting people" geas.
  22. Sometimes life gives you lemons, other times it hits you with the tree truck and then present you with a lemon meringue while you're disoriented. I had a roller coaster train wreck blessing of a day. Began with a death. Followed by a sudden unexpected career change. Whirlwind of tears and changed plans in the middle. Ended with a birth, now I'm an aunt. And I'm going to a much needed sleep.
  23. Welcome to the rabbit hole! Dive right in.
  24. I need more t-shirts with logos and sayings on the back, and less all over my chest. (Also the small Bridge 4 logos would be rocking if they were on the sides of the sleeves )
  25. Double points if the character is a beggar, vagrant, likes stories, or is musical inclined. Also occasionally bald.
