Scholars and scientists in general. They get a Darwin Award and a medal for courage. "Let's go out in a Highstorm to record windspeeds!" "Let's poke this unknown animal and see how it reacts!" "Let's turn on this mystery device and see what it does!"

I am dressed up as a mistwraith, because I think that would be super horrifying as costume. But to balance out the horror, I am carrying an adorable plastic pumpkin bucket, for collecting candy. I'm carrying the handle in my mouth. One of them, anyway. Trick or Treat!

OMG yes I am down for some Shard T or T (name in progress). Gotta go think up my costume. It's amazing how imaginative your costume can be when it's, well, imaginary. I'll add a rule though: No spiking the candy. Or apples. Or any other edibles for that matter. *suspiciously eyes a few culinary groups*

Go now, you! Would that you would learn to love adventure... Love to learn, would you? That would you now go. Sleep sometimes makes me tired. Restless nights awake. In bed, in awakened night, restless. Tired me, making (sometimes) sleep.

Welcome to the Shard! Sounds like you'll fit right in!

I can see it working, but only if they're flying books or acting almost like a fluid, an overwhelming wave of books working together. If they're....um...flopping towards me on the ground like fish, it's far less intimidating.

Google "how to draw radial symmetry". Start with a light circle and draw bisecting lines through it like a pizza. Each "slice" will repeat, so just be careful that the lines you make in each section are the same length and direction each time. You could also make the pattern you wanted on a separate slice and then trace it for each section to ensure that each is identical. If you want to mess around with radial symmetry online, there's places like this: https://www.myoats.com/create.aspx

I had an ex-assassin character who had a talent for making homemade soaps and fragrances so he ran a perfumery on the side. It was mostly just a cover for his other activities, except that he was fairly good at it. Bonus was that he could whip up some innocent looking but deadly soap. Scrub a dub dub, you're dead in the tub.

It's just around the corner! Do you Trick or Treat? Disapprove for various reasons? Host a party? Watch scary movies? Share Halloween stories here! Most of my Halloween memories are a mush of darkness and candy (which is a creepy combination). 2 stand out memories are: 1) I was 5-6 years old. Parents waiting for me a few feet away. I rang a doorbell. Nice Lady answered with a bowl of candy. Nice Lady's husband, dressed in a giant pumpkin costume, leapt like twelve feet down a staircase screaming, "I'M PUMPKIN MAN". I also screamed and ran to my parents. 2) One of my neighborhoods growing up was designed with ...eh...I called them "islands". They were like VERY large traffic circles, to the point that there were like 3-4 houses actually within each road circle. Trick or treating, however, I got turned around. I wasn't paying attention and thought I was just following the road, a straight line. I apparently had gone rather quickly around the circle (I ran from house to house like I was on a timer) and ended up at a same house. The man handing out candy recognized me and was furious that I was trying to come back for seconds. I was so confused and fled. Apparently I run away a lot on Halloween.

I think there's a lot of wiggle room based on Intent and reasoning. People are complex. We do terrible things with good intentions and (far less often) do incredible things with terrible intentions. I also think your question is the one that the knights often ask themselves and is perhaps suppose to be part of the process. We know Kaladin struggles walking a line between killing and protecting.

Wait....what happens if you cut a spren with a normal sword? Does it just pass through them as if they had no substance? Temporarily lose shape and reform like a trail of smoke? I can't recall a scene of anyone actually trying to interact physically with any type of spren (discounting Lift as an exception) . Like if hunger spren where flying all around you, could you "shoo" them? I'm not surprised that Shardblades, alive or dead, can cut/kill spren. We know they cut Cognitively (burning out the eyes/soul, but not harming the body). They're spren themselves. It makes sense they'd all be on the same "wavelength". Kaladin in the scene is interesting though because he doesn't just attack the spren, he's totally enraged. Which, in a storyline where emotions and emotional influences are playing power roles, may be something important.

In Dalinar's flashback of Galivar's funeral (ch 105), he over hears Jasnah reading the beginning of The Way of Kings. In the passage, Nohadon is speaking to "one who claimed to have seen the future" and gives him life advice about journeys vs destinations that ultimately motivates him to act. The gender of the "one" is vague. The doubled quotations are tricky as they are a quote within character dialogue, but I think at one point there is a "she replied" that refers to this unnamed speaker rather than Jasnah. Do we know anything about who is mystery lady may be? I'm leaning towards Cultivation as she speaks about paths and choices. Possibly one of the female Heralds? If not a female, it sounds like it could possibly be Hoid from the speech/tone.

Tarah's dad info just seems to be a straight up RAFO. We're deep in wild speculation (my favorite!) with this. Curiously RAFO, though. As for the original topic, in my reading I thought that Nohadon was not a surgebinder at the time of Dalinar's original visions, then later acquired the bond at an unknown point. Leaning towards Bondsmith for the simple connection it makes between him and Dalinar, which might explain the weird visions. If Nohadon had previously bonded Stormdad, there may be some sort of .....uh.....soul resonance/connection there.

Now I'm envisioning it as surfing.....All these windrunners hanging out in front of an oncoming highstorm, boards at the ready. Telling tall tales of strange things seen in the storms and the feats of windrunner legends like Kaladin Stormblessed.

Be difficult to capture them in that particular form since they only look that way in Shadesmar. I don't know if you could actually capture any spren in Shadesmar... But I think there counterpart in the physical realm are sky eels? I know Shallan and Kaladin discuss how there's some spren that always is around greatshells and other creatures that technically should be heavier than they are. Also makes me curious if that's a way to kill a greatshell. If you can see the spren and kill it, would the greatshell's weight suddenly magnify to the point it can't hold itself up?

I'll go with Taln. He's been through enough, but I could see him having a major role like this. He was sort of kind of an amazing person in OB and I think he still has a lot of potential paths, despite his troubled mental state.

I think it's more a possibility than a dead shardblade. We don't know too much about the honor blades. We haven't had any indication that they are "alive" in the ways that spren (and even Eyeless dead spren) are. However, assuming honor blades are very heavily Invested, I would say they would resist Awakening.

I agree that Autonomy is more about gaining self-sufficiency than freedom. The relationship between Patji and the trappers is a really fascinating one. That being said, Autonomy.....bothers me. (Oh boy, apologies in advance, I am not going to explain this well). Autonomy, in my mind, has more requirements (?) on it than other Shardic intents. It's something of a "fragile" concept as it is conditional. You declare yourself autonomous, great. But if you fail in your autonomy, you were not truly autonomous to start. Like a two year old throwing a "Me do it!" tantrum, ability often outweighs intent. Does Autonomy, as a Shard, possess the success threshold necessary for other to be declared autonomous by her rating? Or do people ultimately always fail by simply and enviably.... dying?

Welcome person who also enjoyed comics from the 90s. *high five* *doubles to include @Firerust*
