    Shadesmar travel

My problem with that is, if Shadesmar is flat, how does one ever get off the planet, which is a sphere? In OB, the traveling they do by ship is essentially the same as travel in the physical realm. There's no distance distortion, because that doesn't happen until you get to uninhabited areas like the middle of the ocean. In these areas, "distance" becomes almost nonexistant, which allows a traveler to step across solar systems that are far off. But there's still that stepping off/turning point. Shadesmar on Roshar could easily be flat, as could individual planets and areas. But Shadesmar as a whole, across the cosmere, seems like it has to have a three dimensional aspect to it. You wouldn't notice it while walking, it would always seem like it was flat, but in fact was more like traveling something like a mobius strip.
  3. So as I was writing my theory ended up as 2 Theories......with possible overlap. 1) Why Odium is Hatred Presuming the Shattering was unexpected and unwanted by Adonalsium, it/he was probably seriously pissed off as it happened. What's he feeling at the end? Likely: rage, betrayal, and hatred. So the shard that was created SHOULD have been Passion, but at the time all of Ado's passion was instead all these negative angry emotions, resulting in a shard of condensed GOD RAGE. 2) Odium is not Hatred, but the Hated One What if, instead of being the shard of hatred, Rayse was the one who was hated? It's passive, rather than active. In the 2nd letter it says We've established that Adonalsium is, at the time of his death, a seething pit of anger (least in this theory). Rayse, I believe, was either set up as scapegoat for this anger, or received it willingly, or pretended to be a scapegoat and actually wanted it. Possible he was remorseful for something he had done and was trying to act as a sacrifice to atone, while the other 16+ individuals were using his sacrifice as as a punishment. With unintended consequences. If he bears hatred, but is not causing hatred, it may explain some of the weird effects he's having on people. They are reacting post-hatred. The righteous indignant: "No! It wasn't my fault! You made this happen!" like Amaram. The equally angry where rage meets rage (the thrill). Those that hide into escapism (The Heart of the Revel). Those that react by passing on their pain sadistically (Shallan's father and brother, several possible Unmade).
  4. ....Iyatil. Sure she's a worldhopping member of the Ghostbloods of unknown age and motives, but I think she and Shallan had some good time together. There's some two way respect there. It could bloom. Depending on what the Ghostbloods are really after.
  5. There's also other things that reference the eastward Origin of the highstorms, like Cu....Cuchishe? the giant water spren seen by Axies during an interlude. It is noted to be facing towards the Origin.

    Shadesmar travel

I know you can walk Shadesmar to other solar systems and the general gist of the distance reduction. I couldn't find specifics in a WoB so......are all habitable planets with strong presences in Shadesmar connected directly with all others, or do you have to bypass through others? Like (I'm using random planet examples, I don't know their proximities) I want to walk from Sel to Roshar it's fine because they are "close" galacticly speaking, but from Sel to Scadrial is further and Roshar's inbetween so I end up skimming Roshar's CR. I trying to draw a potential map of how Shadesmar as a whole might look. Well less of a map and more a picture of a 3D model. Right now it's....a matrix of spheres? Uninhabited areas become .....uh.... points or areas that are "weak" in distance? The null distance allows it touch another weak area, like two points connected on a line, except now the line has been removed? Mmmm distorted spheres might be better. I hate math
  7. I think Jasnah would respect her for it. Speaking of killing family members, let's not forget that Jasnah was seconds away from killing Renarin. Get yourself together Kholins!
  8. More awkward situations: Unknown to Shallan, Jushu (think he was the gambler brother) starts hanging out drinking and gambling with Gaz n Crew (who need a group name like Bridge 4). Shallan shows up as Veil and decides to stay incognito while observing him.
  9. Hopefully said Unmade has not followed the brothers to Urithiru. Perhaps Dai-gontharis? I think she's going to have serious struggle between lies and truths, doubly so because of her oaths. But I also think this is going to help her stabilize her personalities. She can't make up another personality to handle this situation. It is all her own actions and responsibilities. Very curious about Adolin's reaction. He confessed his murder to Shallan. I think he'll be sympathetic. And possibly uncomfortable that they are newlywed murderers. I can see things coming to a head all at the same time: Shallan's history become public right as Nan Balat's sanity tips and he does something violent. Taravangian takes advantage of the whole thing (if he didn't plan it) to discredit the Radiants.
  10. See how long she actually keeps it up wearing one first. The novelty might quickly fade. But if not... Go for a thin, standard cheap leather glove and convince her that it's one Veil would wear. Or something like this https://www.amazon.com/Fashion-Screen-Winter-Windproof-Weather/dp/B0774SNS4S/ref=sr_1_14?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1521652690&sr=1-14&nodeID=7147440011&psd=1&keywords=driving+gloves Cheap, but fancy fashionable (and touchscreen friendly XD) Edit: Got bored, went shopping for you. Hope you like Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Gallery-Seven-Touchscreen-Driving-Texting/dp/B075RKQSVN/ref=sr_1_40?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1521652944&sr=1-40&nodeID=7147440011&psd=1&keywords=driving+gloves https://www.amazon.com/Women-Summer-Sunproof-Gloves-Driving/dp/B01DXACJRA/ref=sr_1_100?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1521652998&sr=1-100&nodeID=7147440011&psd=1&keywords=driving+gloves https://www.amazon.com/Kenmont-Summer-Protection-Outdoor-Fishing/dp/B06XRQ5HHK/ref=sr_1_99?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1521652998&sr=1-99&nodeID=7147440011&psd=1&keywords=driving+gloves
  11. I don't think they're mutually exclusive. He can be naturally gifted and have his gifts be sort of cemented by his spiritual connection. It's more....anticipation connection than ability. We kinda do this all the time in deliberate ways: I practiced for a race. I raced well. I raced well because I practiced because I knew I would be in a race. Spiritual connection just does this subconsciously. It knew about the race even though we didn't.
  12. You can never too much coffee! Hahahahaha. *Breathes* I swear there has also been some non Spren examples of future-spiritual perception connection (wow I need a better term). Like Kaladin being immediately good with the spear. He had innate talent, but he also had that connection to his future self. He was good because he would be good. I think there was a Dalinar example, but I gotta go digging and check.
  13. Oh boy oh boy oh boy. Sfeer Theory (magic university in a hot seat of politics!) Mare Internum (scientist explorers get into trouble) Wilde Life (normal dude moves to weird little town of not-normal peoples) Daughter of the Lilies (This one JUST passed through a big character reveal, so if you want to read be careful you don't spoil anything for yourself like 3 pages ago) Fey Winds (epic fantasy, but with comedy) Raruurien (fairly new, but the art is so pretty!) Scurry (a tribe of mice struggles to survive in a humanless post-apocalyptic future, with impressive animal art) Lilith's Word (uh....the last goddess of creation has to figure out what to create)
  14. I think it's the bonds and Oaths that make them able to live. When Syl returned after Kaladin lost her in WoR, she says something like "I was only as dead as your Oaths." We don't know if Syl was a deadeye during that time or not. If so, I'd like to think that it was Kaladin's speaking his next oath that prompted her return. All the other shardblade spren's who abandoned their oaths are long dead so we really don't have anyone to compare it to. But then again it's true that the Bondsmiths do have strange effects on other Radiant's powers (like Dalinar and Shallan's joint effort to make a lightweaved map). Maybe Dalinar + Renarin's regrowth (perception/spiritual healing?) could push Maya along to life again.
  15. Dunno if we have answers to this right now. So "One bead represents the item that is seen and views itself as a cohesive thing. " This is how massive objects like a palace can be contained in a single bead. Are more beads created if an object is split? Will one stick bead = 3 twig beads, if the stick is broken? If a object is made of several other objects, do they cluster together in the sea and then eventually fade or merge? Are solid objects the only ones capable of having a soul bead? (makes sense, it's hard to have a sense of self when you evaporate rapidly)
  16. I think maybe Dalinar helped the temple regain it's Identity? It was slowly moving from "temple" to many individual "stone" and was in a crisis. The simple souls of objects retain some memory of their being something else (whatever their identity from people was). I gotta agree with with @Calderis. The temple had a soul, yes, but was dead before and after, unlike a spren which are living beings in Shadesmar.
  17. I'm casting Clopin as Wit. Animated, yes. But I mean come on how can you not:
  18. Aren't all the Honorblades splinters? Stormfather describes them (or Jezrien's at least) as being "made directly from Honor's Soul".
  19. Mistborn Era 1 was rough on me. Meanwhile, in another unexpected plot twist: A massive hand rises from the ocean, followed by a horrific body. It holds the bodies and souls of countless innocents. The called it the Hog. Within it's bay, Cusicesh "the Protector" rises up from the waves, trembling. It has waited for this day. The nightmare monster of the ocean sucks in a deep breath. "DINNER'S READY" it hollers. Baby Cusicesh squees and floods over the Iri islands, drowning thousands.
  20. Agonizing magical seizures: "pee pee dance" I'll probably never read Elantris the same way now, so thanks for that.
  21. Welp. *buries face*
  22. I actually really like the idea of a Railroad! We could call it..........Galaxy Express 999 (winks if you get the ref). Now I hope there is a Cognitive railroad. Also some great imagery of those airships Navani was working on.....put an Elsecaller onboard and away you go. I wonder if expanding into space and the Cognitive Realm would end up negating the ease of travel. The whole reason the Cognitive Realm takes less time to move between solar systems is the lack of thoughts/idea that are the literal foundation of the realm.
  23. The WoB I found have Brandon being very RAFO about the Elantrian shardpool and the CR. I haven't found one that explicitly says the Ire members are recovered Hoed. Brandon says several times though that the Ire is very, very, very old, implying that they formed pre-Reod? Most are like this: Spoilers for length: This one suggests that going to the CR on Sel is generally not healthy and the latter post-Reod Elantrians who enter are....uh....being torn to shreds. I assume that the Ire were old Elantrians that possibly used the Shardpool to flee before/during the splintering of Dominion and Devotion. I assume that the old Elantrian Raoden and Co slips into the pool is pretty much wrecked. I have no idea how Hoid got through the pool other than because he's Hoid.

Thanks, that was helpful! Although it just brings other questions as well. o_o

    Warbreaker Dogs

What was up with the dogs in Warbreaker? During the scene were Vasher and Viv are returning the priest's kidnapped daughter, he calms them down without a command or anything. Viv asks about it, but Vasher is closemouthed. Did we ever get an answer about this?
