  1. Well, it seems like I’m about to die, so I might as well post some reads. Hopefully you guys can benefit from them somehow. TJ Shade- Reads make a fair amount of sense, hasn’t done anything suspicious. Village. Quinn0928- The way they started a train on me is honestly kinda suspicious, I thought trains were bad? Hard Elim. Straw- I believe them when they are the spy, but I think it was rather foolish for them to claim. Even if they ‘align’ with the Elims, they aren’t actually aligned with them. They still don’t count for parity. Almost certainly going to die. Somebody from Sel- They were rather defensive, and even though I tried to protect them before, upon further consideration I think you guys are right. Elim. Dannex- Honestly you guys are right, I’m pretty suspicious. Elim. Snipexe- Hasn’t said much, but that alone is suspicious. Null to Mild Elim. Liranil- I know I’ve been pushing for Liranil pretty hard, but I realized I was just projecting my own suspiciousness onto them. Village. Ghanderflaffle- Village because reasons. StrikerEZ- Village for more reasons.
  2. Am I only speaking at the beginning? If I am that’s not intentional. I don’t see what Elim!me would have to gain by only speaking at the beginning of each cycle, that seems pretty NAI to me. I tend to vote less in the earlier cycles, it’s just part of my playstyle I guess. You can look at some of my other games for evidence. If I was Elim, wouldn’t I be more likely to vote in the earlier cycles? Those are the cycles where it’s easier and more important for the Elims to get a misexe, why would I give up that opportunity? Edit: @Elandera can I have a vote count?
  3. I think the best bet for cosmere is a live action show, with really long episodes. Like Sherlock, but bigger. A lot bigger. I sincerely doubt it would be good as an anime, it doesn’t seem to fit that style at all in my opinion. The cosmere is this huuuuge epic fantasy, it would need to seem that huge on the screen. Like, imagine if, instead of the movies, LOTR was adapted into an anime. It would be soooo different, and in my opinion, much worse. I do doubt that the entire cosmere story will be told in the same format. We might get some movies, some live action shows, some anime shows, I just very much doubt that anime would be best for the entire thing. Here’s how I would break the whole cosmere down: (I know the topic title is specifically about WoK, but whatever, the OP talks about the cosmere as a whole and so will I. Also it’s in the cosmere discussion subforum rather than just the SA one, so yeah.) SA would be best as a live action TV series, it’s too big to properly tell the story any other way. I imagine it very LOTR-like. That sort of cinematography, that sort of soundtrack. Just making it all very epic. Mistborn best as a movie series, especially era 2. Wax and Wayne are the most cinematic characters Brandon’s written imo, they absolutely belong on the big screen. Warbreaker best as an anime, that art style could probably do a lot with the whole color magic thing. Elantris would probably be best as a single movie, but I can maybe see it being an anime. Maybe an animated show, but not necessarily an anime. Maybe an animated movie, I haven’t considered that option yet. White Sand could be a good animated show, maybe made to match the comic art style. So not really an anime, just animated. 6th of the Dusk could be expanded into a rather nice TV show I think. A lot smaller than what I imagine the SA show to be, this could be something more traditional, 40 minute episodes, etc. This could be a very artistic show if done correctly, I can imagine the show making great use of silence and cinematography to tell its story, as Dusk doesn’t talk much. Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell could be a pretty good (and bear with me here) musical. It’s a short enough story that it wouldn’t need a whole movie or a show to tell it completely, and it’s rather intense and emotional, prefect for the stage. I guess it could technically be a play, not a musical, but I think some dramatic music could capture the tension of the story pretty well. And imagine the funny contradictions of a character named Silence bursting out into song XD. And yeah, those are my opinions, I think that’s every cosmere story, remind me if I forgot one.
  4. I just thought of a random crackpot theory that goes with this, what if taln wasn’t even insane? We know that the insanity of the Heralds is magically influenced, it isn’t normal insanity. That seems to imply that they didn’t go insane from the torture. Maybe the insanity only affects them once they’re on Roshar. But they didn’t go insane in the earlier desolations, what’s different this time? I’ll tell you what, BA-ADO-MISHRAM. I just read this theory and it makes a lot of sense to me. Maybe the same sort of thing is happening to the heralds, but instead of turning into deadeyes, they just turn insane. On the other hand, there are a few things that could disprove the theory. It says that Taln is covered in water, so presumably he’s been swimming, maybe in the Purelake. However, the Purelake is only a few feet deep, he wouldn’t have needed to swim at all. Also, I don’t think the place where that scene takes place is close to the purelake at all, is it? Wouldn’t he have been dried off by then? I think it’s possible that the moisture is instead some sort of effect of leaving the Cognitive Realm. We see the same things with Shardblades, when they’re summoned they’re covered in moisture. On the other other hand, why does he have wood and leaves stuck in his beard? Those wouldn’t be from Braize, I don’t think it has any trees, or life at all really. So if the moisture was because he just came from the cog realm, how did he have time to get leaves in his hair? Edit: The Ba-Ado-Mishram theory is making more and more sense the more I think about it. That’s why Taln was sane enough to talk to Hoid at the beginning, he was just falling under the influence of whatever’s happening, and then it ALSO explains why heralds regain their sanity momentarily around Honor’s perpendicularity and when they’re around a radiant who has just spoken a new oath. Their Connection with Honor is being momentarily restored, so they regain their sanity. Just like how a spren keeps their sanity so long as they are bound to a radiant. Edit 2: Wait, but Kalak was insane and he was in the cognitive realm. Well maybe Roshar’s cognitive realm is still technically Roshar so it still works. Wait no, that doesn’t make sense, then the spren would all be deadeyes. Maybe Kalak wasn’t actually insane, just eccentric? Or maybe he specifically was just normal insane, while all the other heralds we’ve seen have been magic insane?
  5. I’ve thought about getting Pokémon Shield (my friend has sword, so we could get the exclusives from each other), but from what I’ve heard, people don’t think it’s as good as some of the earlier games. And just judging from my friends experience, he played the game, beat it, and hasn’t touched it in months. He beat the whole game in just a week or so too, so I’m not sure if 60$ is worth just a week of gameplay... If I can’t think of anything else I’ll probably end up getting Shield, but I like my games to have a lot of ‘replayability’. For example, I got this rogue style game, Mana Spark, for a single dollar when it was on sale (I think it’s 10$ otherwise) and I’ve been able to repeatedly play it for weeks. (It’s surprisingly fun, I recommend that anyone looking for a cheap game check it out.) Probably the best Nintendo switch investment I’ve made.
  6. @Scarletfox Man, I’m sorry about your sister, but that’s awesome that you still get to have Christmas! I do have a question, if you don’t want to answer that’s fine, but as far as I know, covid is a respiratory disease, how did your sister end up not being able to walk?
  7. It should be noted that the Blackthorn was a much worse person than Moash currently is, and look where he ended up....
  8. I’m not sure about a SfS vote, they’re certainly suspicious, but seeing as how we’re almost certainly at exlo, I don’t think I’m certain enough to risk it all. It’s definitely a possibility that SfS is an Elim, but right now I’m reading Liranil as Elim even more. The only thing we have against SfS is their defensiveness, but I think they just tend to be a naturally defensive player. As a naturally defensive player myself, I’m hesitant to vote for that reason alone. Considering how that situation was also mainly a misunderstanding, I don’t want to risk our last chance on it. I’m just going to get through the last of my notifs and then go to bed, so don’t expect anything else from me for a while.
  9. Hey gg Elims! And thank you Ashbringer for running the first game I’ve ever won! Special shout-out to Matrim and Illwei and Connie and Kalak’s Blade, I couldn’t have won without you. I posted all my Truthless thoughts at the very beginning of the spec doc, just look for the wall of really dark red text. =P
  10. Eh, close enough I swear they’re related somehow though right?
  11. I just found something interesting. People have been wanting a FotT subforum, right? But we all kinda dismissed the idea as a joke because it wasn’t big enough? What if I told you there was a RP, with a subforum, that’s more than 10 times smaller than FotT?

Meet Nexus, the inactive RP that spans 5 topics and has 981 total posts.

Meanwhile FotT spans 6 topics and has 13,182 total posts. That’s 13.43 times bigger.

So maybe a subforum is more possible than we thought? :P

True, but nexus is still subforumized. I’d assume that the mods would have integrated it back into the forum it’s nested in if percentages like that actually mattered.

Or they wouldn't have because there is no point.

Well, let's recontextualize. What percentage of posts in the RP forum are Fellowship, and what percentage were Nexus when that started?

    A Quest!

Tualak’s eyes widened in surprise as the harmony resumed. Was he hearing things? He stopped playing with a start and quickly excused himself from the common room. He headed upstairs to his room, and resumed playing. He played quietly, straining to see if he could hear anything. Surely he was imagining the sound, music can’t just come from nowhere, right? He played, quietly plucking out a simple tune, and heard...nothing. He began to relax, certain that he had been imagining things. He was about to stop playing when he heard a haunting harmony drifting through the air, perfectly matching what he was playing. He dropped his lyre in shock. “W-what are you?” He whispered, fear stretched out across his face.
  13. I got a switch a few months ago, and for Christmas I got a gift card to the Nintendo E-Shop. I haven’t the faintest idea of what I want to get though. I already have a bunch of games, I’m not sure what essentials I’m missing.
  14. I’d like to co-gm a game at some point, although I am on mobile, so I don’t know how helpful I’d be. I just want to take a peak behind the curtain, see what’s it’s like from the GMs pov.
  15. I don’t know why people measure popularity so much in online communities. It really doesn’t seem super healthy. I don’t see the need to make friendly communication into competition. Just seems to create unhealthy dynamics. If it was up to me I’d remove the reputation and follower features entirely. I’d replace reputation with reactions, you could react to a post with numerous different emojis or something, so if you found a post thoughtful or funny, you could react to it with the proper emoji. It’s better than reputation in 2 ways, it’s more specific, so you know exactly why people reacted, and then it doesn’t keep a record of it on your profile, so there’s no competition or anything. I’d replace followers with friends, you send a friend request and if they accept, then you both receive notifications from the other person. It’d be the same thing as people who follow each other, except there wouldn’t be a counter on people’s profiles for how many friends they have. *steps off soap box* This isn’t an actual complaint or anything, just my thoughts on the subject. I’ve been on the internet long enough to know that’s this is just the way things work, and my solo opinions aren’t gonna change any of it.
  16. I suppose I should place a vote, but I’m really not sure who’s the most suspicious. I haven’t been following this game as well as I’d like, mainly because of Christmas. I’ll do my best to assemble a read list anyway. Breaker- The only vote placed so far has been on Breaker, but I’ve been reading them as pretty solidly village this whole game. TJ Shade- Just joined, and Exp was inactive. Their reads make some sense, Null to Very Mild Village. Quinn- I tend to read Quinn as village, but I also tend to be wrong. A very confused Null. SfS- SfS is being rather suspicious. They got very defensive because they thought they were being considered suspicious, but then they weren’t even. SfS does tend to be defensive in general, they’re like me in that regard. Mild Elim. Lirani- Lirani is my strongest Elim read, although still not that strong. It’s entirely based on this post: This reads very very much like the classic “thanking the doctor” tell, albeit a little bit different. Very suspicious. Lirani. Ghanderflaffle- Mild Village, basically a gut read. Striker- Mild Village, for the same ‘gut read’ reasons.
  17. I was under the impression that it was closer to 2.718; the golden ratio is famously known for showing up in the number of legs that fantasy reptiles have.
  18. I think that if Wit gave his Breath away, yeah, you’d probably have some sort of access to those memories. Probably something like a Coppermind. I doubt Susebron has all the memores of his predecessors though, I think memories have to be intentionally stored, and I doubt the previous God Kings knew exactly how. It seems to be some sort of complicated investiture hack, not an innate power of Breath. Seems like it’s based on a Coppermind. We know that Hoid is trying to gain access to as many types of magic as he can, but the only way to become a Feruchemist that we’ve seen is to use Hemalurgy, which I doubt Hoid is up for. Maybe he found a way to essentially become a Feruchemist by hacking Breath.
  19. Wow. I leave the discord and all of a sudden y’all are getting married.
  20. Oh geez. This is one of the craziest writeups I’ve ever seen. So much to think about. 1. Vote Manipulation a. One vote removed from Breaker b. One vote removed from Xino c. One vote added to Archer 2. Deaths a. Brighteyes and Archer were both deposed via voting, but Archer had a vote added via Cambric. b. Ashbringer and Matrim were both killed, one by the Elims, and one by a Tenasi Pilot. 3. Roles a. Brighteyes was a Tenasi Pilot, presumably the one who killed either Matrim or Ashbringer. I’ll look back at their posts to see if they were suspicious of either of them. b. Ashbringer was a Heklo. I haven’t had any PMs opened so I don’t know what to think of this. Didn’t somebody say that they thought there was going to be only one Heklo? That might be worth looking into. c. Matrim was a figment. Unless he shared the results of his actions with somebody, that’s a waste. Maybe this explains his mildly suspicious ‘gut reads’ from earlier. Maybe they were actually reads based on the results of his scan.
  21. I believe he said earlier that he intends to vote anyone who votes him. Which does seem counterintuitive to his goal of dying... Edit: wait so why didn’t beaker vote for any of the other people who voted him. I’m very very confused. Also the cycle is over in like 20 seconds.
