  1. Yep, that is exactly what I’m saying.
  2. I guess? I don’t really have a problem with Rlain in RoW, his outcastyness makes sense there, although it is blatantly the single aspect of his character that is focused on in that entire book. The reveal that he is also gay, and also going to be in a relationship with the other outcasty character, makes me think that this is all Brandon is going to focus on for him.
  3. I...don’t see how that’s relevant? He didn’t bond the sibling, I’m happy with Navani having bonded the sibling, I have no opinions other than positive for how the whole sibling thing played out.
  4. In all the previous books, Rlain’s ‘outcastness’ has been just an aspect of his character. In RoW it completely dominated his entire character. I feel like he was a complex, 3 dimensional character, and now in RoW he’s being devolved into the “sympathetic misfit” archetype. Although it’s worth mentioning that I didn’t actually have a problem with it in RoW, it made sense there. The reveal that Rlain is also gay just makes me think this trend is just going to continue, maybe to the point where I don’t like it, but as I mentioned before, I bet Brandon will convince me of it by then.
  5. Yeah, I’m not talking about the ‘being gay’ specifically. That’s why I didn’t mention Renarin. Just the ‘being different and an outcast’ thing in general. It’s Rlain’s whole arc in RoW. Literally his entire character.
  6. Sooooo I’m not going to go through and quote everyone who quoted me, but I’ll just say that y’all need to read people’s posts better. I’m not complaining about the representation itself in any way, I’m complaining that as of right now, in RoW, Rlain is being written as if those were his only character traits. I’m not talking about people in general, I’m talking about Rlain.
  7. Oh, no, I definitely hate Moash. Everyone hates Moash. But a lot of people hate him from an out-of-world perspective, rather than an in-world one. They think he is a poorly written, shallow, hate-sink character that serves no purpose. I don’t think that, and was saying that as an example of me liking something that many others hate. To be extra clear, I like Moash from an out-of-world writing standpoint, and I hate him from an in-world character standpoint.
  8. I have a lot of mixed feelings about this reveal. I’m perfectly fine with both Rlain and Renarin being revealed as gay, but I don’t think I like where this is headed... I mentioned this before in the thread about Rlain possibly being gay, and the reveal that Renarin is gay too kinda supports that. It just really feels like Brandon is cramming as much minority representation into these two characters as he can. Renarin is autistic, Rlain is a different species and a different culture from most other members of said species. They were both the sorta “outcasty” members of Bridge Four. Now they’re both gay, and on top of it all, they’re a couple. (Or going to be I guess.) I should point out that I have nothing against representation, even poorly done representation. I’m not saying that I think this is too political, or that I think it wasn’t done correctly or anything like that. I just feel like there isn’t any room for these character’s actual personalities. They’re being completely defined by the things that make them different. In my opinion it’s lessening the value of the characters. I do think it’s probably too early to be too critical of this, Brandon said it probably isn’t going to be on-screen til the back five. And I am a very easily pleased person, so far, in all of the released Cosmere, I think Brandon has made 1 mistake. And it’s a super minor one, I think that he makes allomancers seem too common in MB Era 2, despite it being said that they’re supposed to be more rare. That is my one single complaint. I love every single other thing in the Cosmere, I think Shallan is a great character, I think Moash is a wonderfully written villain, I can’t think of a single negative thing about SA at all. So I bet that once we actually get around to seeing Renarin x Rlain, I will be fully on board.
  9. Yep, he confirmed it solidly in the stream. Cultivation is a Dragon.
  10. Watching the signing stream rn, and I’m not gonna lie, some of the comments in the chat disappoint me. Like, cmon guys, don’t waste questions on stuff we already know or stuff thats obviously gonna get rafod.

I’ve seen ”is adolin gonna become a radiant” like 20 times. THATS OBVIOUSLY A RAFO! Cmon YouTube...

      Spoiler

      Renarin x Rlain confirmed. ;-;

I don’t have anything against either one of them being gay, I just wish they specifically weren’t gay for each other. I really don’t think they have chemistry.

Its Brandon though, and I’m sure he’ll convince me of this paring once we see it on screen. :P

  11. It’s not like I have every single WoB memorized lol I just recognized the WoB once I read it. And then posted the thoughts I had on that WoB that I remembered that I had when I first read it.

    A Quest!

“Dragons seem to get bigger the further north you go, but I’ve never seen a corpse of one that’s much bigger than the one you already have here. Nobody’s killed an adult dragon in centuries, but I assume you already know that. I’m honestly not sure they even die naturally, they seem to just keep getting bigger and bigger.”
  13. Yeah, I’ve seen that. I don’t think it confirms it though. I think it’s definitely possible that Brandon is intentionally misleading us there. Look at the phrasing of the question. Brandon could technically just be answering: “Yes, Hoid is referring to Cultivation when he said that.” It’s also possible that Hoid wasn’t actually referring to Cultivation when he mentions the oldest person around, so he could be talking about the Dragon, but not about Cultivation.
  14. [citation needed] I’ve seen the theory that it’s cultivation, but I definitely haven’t seen it confirmed anywhere.

Gaboranth shrugged. “Sure, why not. Been a while since I’ve had dragon, it’s harder to find this far south.”
  16. Final, even bigger brain: Stick is the BBEG
  17. Hmmm I think that gets too recursive too quickly. If he eats himself then there’s no ‘him’ that can eat himself.

      Hello! :)

And neither of you want an f, you want an A!

  19. Nope, and I don’t think it’s really possible. This is what I think’ll happen to Moash. Odium will be destroyed, or Moash will for some reason no longer be under his power. He won’t have any of Odium’s emotion suppressing magic thing on him, and he’ll go completely insane. We’ve already seen hints of that in RoW, where Moash feels emotion for just a few seconds and is screaming in agony. So Moash will go insane, and then he’ll kill himself in guilt. And it will be so satisfying. In a way, that almost is a redemption arc. He’ll suffer for his sins, but unlike most redemptions, nobody will be there to offer him mercy. Instead he kills himself.

    A Quest!

Tualak was about to go looking for Gaboranth when he heard...something. Is that the same harmony I heard earlier? He decided to sit back down and keep playing, but he kept an eye out for what could be making that mysterious sound. Gaboranth returned, carrying his saddlebags, he was going to return to Tualak, but he noticed something peculiar. “Is that... are you dissecting a dragon? In a bar?”
  21. You can check out any time you like, BUT YOU CAN NEVER LEAVE
  22. I don’t really have any proof that this is what would happen, but my thoughts are that he wouldn’t die, just get hungrier and hungrier. If he eventually drifted onto a planet he’d be so hungry he’d consume the entire thing. Starting with the easiest Investiture, but I think he’d be so hungry that he’d eventually just start eating the planet itself. My reasoning for this is that 1. The only thing that stops him from doing this normally is that he gets “full”. We see this happen a few times. So if he just gets hungrier and hungrier for millennia, he’ll be able to suck up a lot more Investiture at once. 2. Energy, mass, and Investiture are all the same thing in the cosmere, so it makes sense that after consuming all the easily accessible Investiture, he’d move on to converting and eating energy and mass. I believe that there are some WoBs that relate to this, I’ll try and find them and edit them in.
  23. We actually shouldn’t have to worry about this, Ookla season ends on the 19th, and the game starts on the 22nd.
  24. But long term games never end. The story just keeps going and going and going, it’s never satisfying. Side note: it’s probably not even going to be as short term as I thought, maybe 2.5-3 weeks instead of 1.
