  1. Yes hi it’s me

I need to settle an argument with my friend.

Which smash bros stage is the most fair. Not which one is better, which one is the most fair to the most characters.

    Small battlefield or Omega?

  2. I think that there’s a lot we don’t know about rock, and Horneaters in general. There’s that one line from Oathbringer in particular, in the chapter where they carry Bridge 4 for the last time, and Rock’s family shows up. (I think that’s in Oathbringer.) It’s from Rock’s POV, and there’s one line that says something like “he was glad the others didn’t speak horneater, for then they would learn about all of his lies” (not an exact quote, but close enough I think) As for Rock’s punishment, I almost think he’s gonna be executed. Maybe his novella ends with his death. It doesn’t seem to make a ton of sense, but we don’t know all that much about Horneater culture. Maybe it’s an acceptable punishment to them. Maybe, because of their perpendicularity, they execute people who then become Cognitive Shadows?
  3. Ha that’s awesome But what’s the “T is Plant” shirt?
  4. Agh I knew it. Sad. GG Elims, well played.
  5. Agh but Connie is being like really strange this game Agh I really don’t know
  6. So, uh. ookla the paradoxical. Reasoning? Basically none, just an extremely strong gut read. Connie is kinda seeming twtbaw to me, and I was dead wrong about Elandera, so might as well go with my gut.
  7. Is this LyLo? I think this might be LyLo.

    A Quest!

As Tualak sat, enjoying his drink in silence, a large figure came through the doorway. The man was tall, roughly 6 feet, with blond hair, an unusual trait in these parts. However, his most notable characteristic was his shiny steel armor. Some new member of the King's guards, Tualak thought, only the newbies are naive enough to go around wearing their armor. They think it makes them look tough. They should realize it'll only draw unwanted attention. The King wasn't the most popular figure these days. Upon further examining of this man however, Tualak realized he had been way off. That armor only looks new, there are noticeable dents in the armor, and some creases where you can tell it has been mended. This man is no newbie, only a seasoned veteran would have that many dents. Why keep his armor that clean then? Seems like an unnecessary amount of work... Tualak let his curiosity get the better of him and went over to the bar to talk to the man. The man noticed him coming and nodded in greetings. "Wearing shiny armor like that can bring some attention to a man." Tualak said. "Apparently it has," the man responded with a smile. He spoke with a slight accent. Tualak smiled and held out his hand. "Tualak, court-bard." The man took his hand. "Gaboranth, Former knight of Alandaire." Tualak raised an eyebrow. "Alandaire? You're a long way from home friend. What's your story?" Gaboranth shook his head. "My story is one of the only things I still own, it'll take a lot more than that to pry it out of me." "Fair enough, I can respect a man's privacy. Answer me this though, why keep your armor in such good condition? I can tell it's older than it looks, but you keep it clean enough to see your reflection in it." Gaboranth nodded. "That I'll answer, but my answers aren't free. I've traveled a long way, if you really are a court-bard, would you play me something? It's been a while since I've heard music of any kind." Tualak nodded. Seemed like a fair enough request. After checking to be sure the insane crowd from earlier was truly gone, he began to play a simple tune. Slow, relaxing, perfect for listening to after a long day of traveling. Gaboranth visibly relaxed as Tualak played.

    A Quest!

I was just struck with the desire to RP, but I just left most of my 'real' RPs to focus on other things. So I've decided to start a RP, completely randomly, with absolutely no preparation or warning. This is a limited time only RP. I think I'll close the topic in a week or so. I just want some quick RP action. Ok, uh, rules hmm let's see rule #1: NO PREVIOUS CHARACTERS. MAKE A NEW ONE. Don't create too much of the character either, this is an impromptu RP, it wants impromptu characters. Develop the character as it goes on. Don't just port the personality of an old character onto a new name either. I'd also like it if you didn't make the character related to anything else. Meaning, no universe-hoppers, no pre-existing magic system users, no naming systems that match up with other characters, absolutely no relation to anything else at all. (cough connie and musical naming theme cough) rule #2: DON'T BE OP. Start low-powered, we can 'level-up' as it goes. rule #3: I'm not necessarily the DM or anything like that, I'm saving that idea for something else, but maybe, just for the very beginning, let me drive the plot with NPC's? I just don't want too many people to introduce too many other plotlines. This is a quest, I want it to be rather centralized. Once we get into it, you're totally fine to introduce all sorts of smaller conflicts, but at the beginning, lets keep things simple. rule #5: Because this is going to have a limited shelf life, I'd prefer if people joined at or close to the start. It wouldn't be impossible to join mid-game, but this isn't FotT. Ok, that's basically it. So, uhh, setting. I want this to be the most traditional, cliche roleplay you can imagine. Like, Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, Dragons. Your basic DnD setting. The most traditional 'quest' ever. No gimmicks. No expectations subverted. Just a normal quest. Also, although this is a DnD-like setting, the actual RP is not DnD structured at all. Just similar settings. Making this very clear because I think there are a few more DnD structured RPs about to be popping up, and I want to make sure that it is clear that this isn't one of those, this is still your classic FFRP. That's probably it. *** Tualak the Grand, world famous court-bard, was bored. He sat in his customary chair in the corner of The Silver Platter, one of the most reputable inns in the capital city of Heradon. He iddly plucked away at his lyre, just playing whatever garbage came to mind. He soon had a large crowd watching. He paused for a second, and they all erupted into thunderous applause. "Oh bug off!" he yelled, "I'm not even actually playing anything! That last 'song' was a C-Scale for Ledonai's sake! I didn't even play it right! Leave me alone!" "Master Tualak, I find it hard to believe that you were simply playing scales." a member of the audience said, wiping a tear from his eye, "That was the single most beautiful thing I've ever heard. You have single handedly changed my entire life." Tualak blinked. He opened his mouth to yell some sense into this crowd of idiots, changed his mind, shook his head in disbelief, and went to go get drunk. As he walked away, the crowd erupted into applause again. He spun around. "WHAT. WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU CLAPPING FOR???" A different member of the audience replied, "Oh great master Tualak, even the sounds of your footsteps as you walk away are melodious. I've never heard anything so wonderous in my life." Tualak starred at the man in utter shock. "GET. OUT." The crowd complied, eager to do whatever Tualak asked of them. He rubbed his head in confusion, got a drink from the bartender, and sank into a booth in the corner. He sat in his chair, wondering how the people of this city could be so dense. This was the 5th time that month that something like that had happened to him. Maybe one of the other court-bards was staging an elaborate prank. He wouldn't be surprised. They could be incredibly childish if their pride was wounded. And Tualak had wounded a lot of pride recently. He shook his head, and decided to simply relax and focus on his drink.
  10. Ok, I think I’ll vote Elandera. Every single one of their reads are Neutral except for Connie. Who other people had already said they were suspicious of. Seems like a very long post that says a whole lotta nothing. Very suspicious. That, plus the fact that they’ve voted for all 3 mislynches....yeah, fairly self-explanatory.
  11. Wow. This seems kinda out there, but there’s also a surprising amount of evidence for it. I like it. MB SH
  12. I noticed something that further confirms the “ones above are Scadrian” theory, although that’s all but confirmed now with the Steel Launchpad and all that. The newspapers are called broadsheets. Also (row) .
  13. Yeah. I know. That’s why he would get so much rep if he did.
  14. I’m pretty sure all Brandon would have to do is post a single time and instantly get like 10000000 rep though
  15. Can I just say that I find it genuinely hilarious that some people don’t like certain SA characters, so then they skim those character’s chapters. And then they continue not liking those characters.

It’s like those reviews you see on some recipes:

“This recipe is horrible. I can’t believe it has 5 stars out of 100k reviews. I followed the recipie exactly and it’s still gross.”
proceeds to rant for multiple paragraphs
“oh, also I didn’t have any milk so I substituted in orange juice.”

  16. I don’t think this is the most fair of contests, considering how era 2 isn’t done yet.... I will say that I think Era 2 is wayyy more cinematic. It reads like I’m watching a movie. A really really good movie. Out of everything Brandon has written, I think MB Era 2 would make the best transition to TV.
  17. The Shard was being pretty weird for me a minute ago, it took minutes for any given page to load, and eventually I just got this error message. I waited a bit and it seems like everything is working absolutely fine now, but figured I might as well share.
  18. Really? I thought it was mass. Weight is how much the planet pulls on you, if Wax increased the pull of the planet on himself when he tapped iron, it would alter his trajectory in mid-air. I’m pretty sure it mentions the exact opposite happening; he taps iron mid-steelpush but he doesn’t feel the effects. Because all objects fall at the same rate, regardless of mass. (Disregarding air resistance) We see Sazed fill an ironmind to slowly lower himself down a cliff, but I think that was just because of air resistance. He had so little mass that the air resistance was enough to slow him. Like a feather.
  19. I was just thinking about what Era 4* might look like, and I think one of the things I’m most excited to see is Space-Age Hemalurgy. Hemalurgy is naturally a very crude art. We have these huge metal spikes, it’s a super bloody process, not efficient at all, and honestly, that makes me really excited for how it’ll evolve. I think that the only reason Hemalurgy is as crude as it is, is so that Brandon can swoop in and make it all super scientific in Era 4. It’s the natural evolution of the art. I’m imagining things like needles instead of spikes, lots more hemalurgic constructs, more efficient ways of investiture transferring, using compunders to have infinite spike factories with no death required. I just think that there’s a ton about Hemalurgy we don’t know yet. It’s still very poorly defined, I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a ton of reveals about it. Like, compare what we knew about allomancy in Era 1 Book 1 to what we know now in the most recent book. We know about 7 more base metals, a new god metal, and we know that there are theoretically dozens of possible god-metal alloys. The number of viable allomantic metals went from 10 to more than we can count. I expect we’ll see this sort of insane knowledge boom with Hemalurgy too. What do you guys think Hemalurgy will look like in the space age? *Era 4 is space right? 2 is W&W, 3 is 1980s Cold War, and then 4 is space?
  20. Pretty sure she has an entire fight scene with Tyn, and the scene of her poisoning and then strangling her father while singing is absolutely traumatic and terrifying, I don’t know how much more murder you’d need. Also she literally creates an army of copies of herself to fight the singers at the battle of thaylen field. And the real version of herself did some actual fighting too with her Patternblade. Considering how she’s a scholar, not a warrior, that seems to be a lot. It’s definitely enough for me. I think she’s actually killed more characters than Kal has, he’s only killed unnamed and non-important soldiers. Shallan has actually killed numerous named characters.
  21. I’m...the only one to have voted for you?
