  1. Yes, they can, MeLaan did it in BoM, storing the spike of ReLuur in her flesh.
  2. I don't think he needs a third Shard. Ruin and Preservation were already a harmonious, Creative force, without any need for a third Shard, and created Scardial and humanity. That proves both Ruin and Preservation can work together without being paralyzed.
  3. My point was, there is no concrete number on both of those time compressions, but bendalloy compresses time to the point where bullets traveling comparable to the speed of sound (343 m/s) now can not only be followed by an eye, but they are slow enough to traverse a room sized distance within few seconds. The bubble also slows down explosion significantly (explosions can expand with the speed of sound of far greater), and from the outside view, the entire Wayne fight is just a blur and nothing more. That's faaaar faster than 15:1. A lot. And Bondspren compression time is also greater than 15:1. That's why I said it's comparable, and therefore it would both nullify each other. Until we got real numbers for both of those values, we won't prove who is right, so it's pointless to argue about it. And yes, Bondsmith will use it only to open perpendicularity (if it's even possible in that place), as he can't really perceive the world from that place he is pulled into.
  4. Stormfather did, I think his authority overwrites Syl, OB ch 38 So does Brandon:
  5. Keep in mind that the Oathpact was made between Heralds and the Shard of Honor, so unless we're talking specifically about Dalinar and Stormfather, other Bondsmiths can't replicate the Oathpact without direct Shard intervention. Not to mention subjeting Roshar to endless Desolation just so you can win a fight with one guy is just monstrous behavior.
  6. Fullborn burns bendalloy while tapping speed and the time difference is back to 1:80.
  7. Adonalsium's Cognitive Shadow survived, and Ascended to one of the 16 Shards? That's not likely. He couldn't Ascend during the Shattering, so he would have to wait for one of the 16 to die without being splintered (that excludes Dominion, Devotion, Ambition and Honor) and Ascend. We don't know about any other Shard being killed except those 4. Adonlasium's consciousness can't survive in one of the 16 Shards, as that would mean there is a mind to control that Shard, and that's a Vessel, so nobody can Ascend to that Shard anymore - but all 16 Shards got new Vessel from those who shatter Adonalsium, therefore Adonalsium can't survive in this way. And Adonalsium CS's intention to survive would be quickly overwritten by the sole intent of the Shard, so unless Shard's intent isn't in some form similar to surviving, after all those years he would stop wanting to survive. And if Shard's intent is similar to surviving, we're back to square one - what Shard is it? All Shards have some level of consciousness, as they can offer themself for somebody to Ascend, or encourage somebody to take them, for all we know, that's the nature of a Shard.
  8. Good ol' Shadiversity. Yes, reach is one of the most important characteristics of any weapon. The greater the reach, the more dangerous it becomes, as your opponent has to walk inside of your weapon's reach to be able to strike himself. That's why spears are so good. Or Zweihänder, which is like a Shardblade (up to 2.1 meters long). Unless your opponent has a Cheeseplate
  9. There was no planet Scadrial before Ruin and Preservation arrived to the system. They both created it, and created a man in the image of the original man from Yolen. That's why Preservation gave a bit more from himself to every human, because they didn't come from outside, they were all fully created on Scadrial from Ruin and Preservation's powers. Other humans in Cosmere did indeed come from Yolen, as they migrated across the whole Cosmere before the Shattering took place.
  10. Running is not an option? So Fullborn doesn't have F-steel at all? Bondsmith wins. That's like saying Mistborn with only 30 sec of each metal to burn. Or like giving Radiant just one diamond chip full of Stormlight. Why would you limit Fullborn's attribute storage to bare minimum, which he can't use effectively during a fight? Compounding takes time, it's done by burning metalminds, therefore it takes almost as long as normal piece of metal would be burn Allomantically. Like 1 gram of steel burns in 1 min, 1 gram of Steelmind would also burn around 1 min. So you don't get a burst of attribute like tapping metalminds provides. Because of that compounding isn't useful that much during a fight, it's useful before a fight to fill his metalminds, which Fullborn can tap with massive compression during any fight. While compounding you get like 5x of your attribute constantly (like you're 5x stronger, I've done some math), but tapping metalminds can make you almost as strong as you want. At this point that's Fullbron basically without Feruchemy, so just a Mistborn, or at best have 5x of his base attribute for short compounding time. Even if you give him F-steel at 5x speed, Bondsmith will win. So that's not only Bondsmith Unchained (without Honor's limitations) but also Unbounded (without any Oaths), he's one of the most dangerous entities in Cosmere. Dead plate intervenes with Radiant's abilities, but he can remove his gauntlets before the fight. Bondsmith needs to touch his opponent to manipulate his connections, that's why he has to take off his gauntlets. Healing is worse with Honorblades than Radiant healing, no soul healing for example, but Fullborn can't damage a soul. And it takes more Stormlight to heal, but Bondsmith can open perpendicularly or directly refuel his spheres, so that's not a problem for him, if he has time to do that. With little to no Feruchemical attributes, no F-steel, Fullborn stands no chance. Bondsmith can just take Fullborn's powers for himself. The only way for Fullborn (without any limitations) to successfully kill Bondsmith (any type) all the time is to tap all his speed, get to Bondsmith before he even starts thinking about opening perpendicularity, smashing his plate with F-pewter, and breaking his spine - all of that done with massive F-speed, because if Fullborn gives any chance for Bondsmith to touch him, Bondsmith will takes away his powers, so Fullborn has to move faster than Bondsmith can move a figure or think. If you take away just F-steel from Fullborn, Bondsmith will always win. Fullborn loses if Bondsmith opens perpendicularly, or goes into CR, or touches Fullborn taking his powers away.
  11. I mean with compounding your base speed of thought doesn't matter as you don't store it in metalminds from your body, but from compounding. So if you want to get as much of F-zinc as possible, improve your Allomantic strength.
  12. Yes it would be, Ruin said this even to Kel after he Ascended. He lacked connection to the Physical Realm. Ruin said something like "You have no form or shape. You are dead, you are an idea. The memory of a man holding power will never be as powerful as a real man connected with all three Realms." Ascension takes you whole, your body, mind and spirit. Rashek didn't make himself a new body, he had one but it was absorbed into the power, he changed his spirit web to become Mistborn. Vin Ascended via the Well, "disappeared" and without using the power of the Well, she returned with a physical body. Shard's Vessels like Leras, Ati, Vin, Rayse, after being killed, drop their body. The body gets absorbed into a Shard and binds them to the Physical Realm. So likely Kel wouldn't be able to create a body for himself and connect to it, as he lack connection to the Physical Realm in the first place, and he is a Shard who can't have a body like that, so he can't connect himself to one. He for sure can't Ascend to Preservation with a spike, that of Ruin, it would be repulsed, but to Ruin maybe. I don't know what the rules are, but Kelsier's current body isn't his original body, so he still lacks connection to PR.
  13. How many times do I have to say this - keep your metalminds close to your brain! Piercings, teeth, metal plates in your skull.
  14. Breaths stay with Awakener. They can be moved back and forth (likely, otherwise why would Hoid be using them), memories stored in Breaths likely stays there undisturbed as they are tied to investiture, and Breaths are not used up, unless they were to be consumed by Nightblood or Returned. Yes, it's like flipping through a book, Sazed is doing that, and he has a Table of Contents in every coppermind to help him know what's in there and where to find what he needs. This takes time. Zinc would speed up this process likely. Zinc, in chess game you need to watch your time, flipping through a copperminds during a game would take all your time. Duralumin connects you to the land you're in, which translates the language for you, like you were born there. It's always better. This works like medallions or Dalinar. So when traveling use duralumin, when staying at home use copperminds. If Nalthians know Rosharan languages, they would, otherwise Feruchemist would speak with Rosharan while Naltian with Naltian. Copperminds are still useful, zinc doesn't improve your memory. No, zinc speeds up processing speeds of your brain, not gives you perfect memory. Copper is useful. Zinc makes you think faster, it doesn't make you remember better. If you still have a slight memory of the song's title, you might be able to come up with this name faster using zinc, but if you totally forgot it, it won't help you
  15. Kel wasn't able to hold Preservation I even thought he was holding it, and likely gained some stronger connection to it, I doubt still he would be a good Preservation Vessel. For Ruin he would be a good one, but it would quickly overwhelm him. If Kelsier was Harmony, he would be opposite to Sazed, he would favor Ruin and suppress Preservation, but I doubt he has the necessary understanding of Preservation to even hold this Shard despite his connection to it as a Sliver. He would be able to act as Ruin alone, but give him enough time and he would end up like Ati. But the biggest problem is that he still doesn't have a physical body. He is stample to one by Hemalurgy, but during Ascension it won't hold. So he would be a very weak Vessel of any Shard, which would make him always inferior to outside intruders. So while Sazed is oppressed by his inability to act, he has necessary understanding of both Preservation and Ruin, that he can hold them together, he had a physical body, which doesn't makes him as limited as Kel, and he is in "stable" configuration, meaning he won't self-splinter, that makes him threatening enough to deter possible attacks, and even in act directly under some circumstances. Therefore even with Shards, Kel would be worse than Sazed.
  16. That's not enough. Adolin isn't the person that broke Oaths. You need to do something more than reswearing Ideals in that case.
  17. Forgery creates new soul and identity, F-aluminum would likely work like a temporary backup of your past identity. Like you're tapping identity stored 10 years ago for 1h, and for 1h you are like you were 10 years ago. But likely nothing crazy like creating completely new identity, so I doubt it will be similar to forging, but it can work well with forging together - stamp yourself, then store that identity, and you could likely do some weird stuff with it. And aluminum compounding "doesn't do much":
  18. It does matter. He gave up more of himself for the creation of humanity. That slight amount was balanced by taking the power of Ruin and binding it in the form of Atium, however Atium is no longer produced, so this power imbalance is showing up again. And the fact that Sazed favors Preservation and is repressing Ruin doesn't help at all. No, we have nothing on this, nothing to suggest this. I doubt it would be even possible for him to do, because of his opposing powers. While Ruin power would gladly change texts, Preservation power would oppose it heavily, making Sazed unable to do it. Not to mention Sazed, as a Keeper, would not want to tamper with written knowledge, which is even proven by the fact that while he disagreed with Spook on writing a book about Hemalurgy, he didn't tamper with it in any way (seems like it), and didn't stop Marsh from giving it to others like Marasi. Hoid doesn't avoid him. He is present fully during events of Era 2. He hides from any Shard, which is a common sense, but he and Sazed seems to have good relations, and in TLM he stays very close to Wax, I suspect this is the result of Hoid and Sazed agreement to help each other against Odium based on the Letters from SA. Similarly Kel doesn't avoid him. He has a spike, which opens him to Sazed influence. In TLM Marsh told that he, Kel and Sazed are like a tripod, balancing each other, so they are close, while not necessarily agreeing with each other. Just because they don't agree doesn't mean they avoid each other. That's not true. The amount of investiture Shard can use depends on how capable is the mind of the Vessel and how far can it reach. Autonomy is present on multiple words, creating avatars left and right (First of the Sun, Obradai, Scadrial etc), her reach is extended likely because her mind is more capable, or she work on expanding in that directions, or originally she wasn't a human but Sho Del. If Vessel's mind is expanded every time he picks up a Shard, than Sazed's mind was expanded twice, for both of his Shards, making him far more capable than others, if there is a limit, which is more likely, and mind can be only expanded once, then Sazed's mind is expanded as much as other human Vessels, and despite having two Shards, he can only access the same amount of power as the others human Vessels. About the question in the poll, @Macidity are you asking whose idea to protect Scadrial is better, or who would be better at doing it overall? If it's about the idea, then both of them have some good points, but Kelsier wanting to democratize metallic arts seems more beneficial, but if it's about overall protection, than Kelsier can’t compete with Shard’s intrusion, you need another Shard to fight against different Shard, so Sazed is very much needed here.
  19. Yes, he has Allomancy, he used it a few times already, once in Shallan's flashback, when they met, he used emotional Allomancy to soothe her (WoR ch 45). He could use Allomancy in the way you suggest, I've never thought of it that way.
  20. Not much? Blessing of Stability gives only emotional stability and greater resistance against hemalurgic control. Blessing of presence gives increased mental capabilities - in this case it would help. How much? No idea. Likely something around 2x human abilities. You can use Breaths to store memory, as they can work like Copperminds. Obviously Hemalurgy, just stealing mental attributes a few times, or few more F-zinc to increase your feruchemical strength, but when you're compounder it's better to take A-zinc few times instead, as this will increase you Allomantic strength, which fuels your compounding, which would give you much more feruchemical attribute. In this case it's better to take A-zinc than mental attributes. This also includes Blessings. When you are a zinc compounder your base mental capabilities are no longer important, as you have zinc. Increasing the amount of attributes gained by compounding is important, and this is dependent on your Allomantic strength. So taking Lerasium-zinc alloy would be far more beneficial than Lerasium bead of the same size. Then becoming a savant in F-zinc and zinc compounding would also help significantly. Zinc. No questions asked. Not every form of compounding does something spectacular, and based on BoM coin medallion, copper compounding likely duplicates memories. Useful for computing but far less than zinc. Zinc is computing power, copper is harddrive. Your brain is already both of these, but it's far more useful to increase your computing power than memory space if you can't compute fast. I don't think there is much more in the Cosmere that can make you into a biological computer. A-bendalloy will help, as combining it with F-zinc it will make computing happening dozens of times faster from the outside perspective. That's useful. Eventually you can use Forgery or some advance Aons as well.
  21. You could, but you need more than simple identity manipulation:
  22. Not likely. because you still have to Allomantically burn that metal. All god metals are burnable by "everyone".
  23. All can be done, complete fabrial will be harder (but will produce the best effects) cause it's invested and has a spren in it, so likely you would have to Awaken only part of the fabrial, or empty fabrial (which would likely repulse sprens and Stormlight), unless you have lots of Breaths. I think it's possible. Fabrial made out of Breaths, you could do it, and make some normal Awakening expanded somehow by fabrial metals. But I think Awakening can be already considered as fabrials, because they are external machines, fueled by investiture, performing specific tasks. But in that case, metal parts has to be Awakened as well (to allow investiture flow), but what would it do, I have no idea.
  24. Yes, they can, but once Zephyr Aetherbound is in the air what is he gonna do with his Aethers? Make some wind and blow people off their feet? That's not much, and can be prevented with other Aethers - grow crystal/vine wall, or grow them around your legs and Zephyr isn't that big of a problem anymore. In most extreme cases they can make some hurricane like conditions, but then again, others can do crystal armor or a strong tree of vines. Guns require skill and time to make - and gunpowder. Unless you combine Roselit and Zephyr Aetherbound, they can't really use them - I'm assuming they only bring themself and lots of water/Dor to the fight, not any weapons or tools, to see what they can do with Aethers alone. So guns are as good as a club. The coolest things you can do with Aethers requires several different Aetherbound working together, like we saw with cannons and cannonballs on Lumar.
  25. Oh yeah, that's a RAFO for sure We don't even know what metallic properties Atium has, and that's what is important here. Like Raysium is an investiture conductor. Atium will likely also do something with investiture like Raysium, because both of them are god metals, and exist in all three realms at once. Don't expect then that Atium will grant a future vision to a fabrial, like Allomantic metal, it would more likely act like a hemalurgic spike, and "extend" the range of its effect or something like that - but this is pure speculation. Unless it isn't already considered as being Awakened (fabrial is invested after all), I think it would make the fabrial act autonomously. Turning off and on when certain conditions in the surrounding area are met, getting stronger or weaker, moving itself, for example, to switch some metal placement to new configuration etc.
