  1. There is CK3 WoK mod? Storms, another reason to buy CK3...
  2. Good but concerning post. Poor Ann. But I don't think it is THAT bad. She doesn't work with Zephyr everyday, not to mention for hours a day. She'll be fine. But on the Zephyr sea this might be the problem - if rain storms weren't more or less stationary. The weather pattern on Lumar is different from Earth's. Rain falls on specific regions and not everywhere. Only on Crimson sea rain is unpredictable and falls everywhere. To add more, Ozone half-life is around 10 minutes close to the ground (or 3 days, I've found different numbers on that). Basically just wait a few hours if you have to go close to a rainy area on a Zephyr sea and you'll be fine. The same would be true in the space era - activate zephyr and wait a few hours to use it - unless half of your spaceship is missing, you'll be fine. Or air filters, that's even easier. For Ann, she doesn't work that much with Zephyr, she breathes in only a small amount of it, and will likely be fine. Maybe after a few decades there would be some problems, I don't know, I'm not a medical expert of any sort.
  3. What? What does that have to do with this? I don't understand why you bring this up. Yes, all god metals and all their alloys are viable in Metallic Arts. So what? Yes, but Primar Cubes store kinetic investiture, not static one, and Primar Cubes aren't the Feruchemical application of Harmonium. Primar Cubes aren't metalminds. You can't tap them and get investiture back. Harmonium in Primar Cubes is being used up as a charge - Feruchemy doesn't use up metalmind. Not really because technically that's 16 metalminds combined into a single piece: Because the WoB said "anything" I'm inclined to believe that all attributes could be stored there, including all god metals combinations. Which is a ridiculous number if you think about it (there is more than 10^19729 possible metal combinations per https://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/95797-the-ultimate-metal-count/ or something like that - in short A LOT - a metalmind that can store "anything" could store everything that all those near infinite number of metals can store.) Yes, that's why Primar Cubes aren't that metalmind. Because it doesn't act like a metalmind - you can't tap it and gain back your attribute, what you're storing is kinetic investiture that creates an area of effect of given investiture. No, I think only Full Feruchemist can be able to use it, just like only Full Mistborn or Atium Misting was able to burn era 1 Atium. Well, maybe anybody could use it as god metals should be burnable by everybody, but I don't think Brandon ever said the same about Feruchemy, that all should be able to tap/store in pure god metals no matter if they are Feruchemist or not. So I think only full Feruchemist could use Harmonium - none is alive today. Plus intent is important, you need to know what you can store in that metal to use it. Harmonium reacts with water vapor, it would explode just by touching it as your skin is wet and produces sweat. No. I feel overwhelmed and don't know how to answer all of this. I kind of feel amused that I have broken your brain with 3 short sentences. But let me paraphrase my original statement: I don't think Harmonium is the only way to create such metalmind (fullmind). I think it's also some alloy of Lerasium and Atium. I think that fullmind should be possible to make before Harmony existed, as Feruchemy came from both Ruin and Preservation, and Harmonium can't be the only answer. Just like there is a way to make somebody into a Mistborn using Lerasium, just like Atium steals any power, and Lerasium steals all attributes in Hemalurgy, just like there is a way to make somebody into a full Feruchemist using Scadrian god metals, there must be a way to make a fullmind using the same god metals as well, not just Harmonium (which isn't an alloy of Atium and Lerasium). Plus the WoB was 3 months before BoM release, where Harmonium was introduced for the first time in books, Primar Cubes as well, and because clearly Primar Cubes aren't fullmind, there must be some other way to make a fullmind without the use of Harmonium. Atium and Lerasium alone have already proven to include "anything" in among all 3 Metallic Arts, and that's why I think there must be a way to just Atium and Lerasium to create a fullmind. Better?
  4. I don't understand. Using unkeyed nicrosilmind, that someone else store his Allomancy there? Then yes? Kind of. You're only saving on a storing time in that case. So if somebody else stored his Allomancy for a half a year, gave it to you, you can tap it for a half a year and be 2x stronger, in that half a year you would become a savant instead of the normal time of a whole year. But it's not an easy task. In era 2 there are no Mistborn anymore (not to mention Fullborn), and you would need to make unkeyed metalmind for it to work (which need either Full Feruchamist (none are alive today) or aluminum medallion which would be very rare because Malwish don't want to share it), then you need to find a Twinborn like you that has the same Allomantic power as you, and F-Nicrosil like you - which would be very rare. You can't do it with medallions alone, as the nicrosil portion of medallion works like a coppermind - either you have power or don't. You can't tap it more to be stronger, you need a Twinborn like you. While it's possible, it's not really an option. And you would still have to wait for that other person to store his Allomancy for half a year for you, so you more or less end up with the same result.
  5. That's interesting. Combine this with tin savantism and you can get real Atium-like effects. You could avoid blades even better than Spook did.
  6. Being drunk isn't a sense. It's toxin, fluid - storing alcohol in bendalloy would likely work. But This makes me wonder, what if you store your senses while being drunk? Would you get the same effects of drunkenness when you tap it, or would just have less attributes as your senses were impaired? @Koloss17 what do you think? I don't think so. I think it's some alloy of Lerasium and Atium. I think that this metalmind should be possible to make before Harmony, as Feruchemy came from both Ruin and Preservation, so Harmonium can't be the answer.
  7. I'm not misrepresenting it. I shouldn't have brought up examples from outside of Roshar, yes, but that was to show how Rosharan magic is similar to everything else in Cosmere. My point is that Radiant healing, squires and all other effects they have, plus nature of spren, Shardblades etc, aren't because of Surges, it's not Surges that makes them like that, but the nature and laws of Cosmere. That's just how things in Cosmere work. And because Rosharan Surgebinding IS allowing for manipulation of those natural laws of Cosmere, you have similarities like that, you CAN say that those Radiant effects are because of Surges. You can. But I'm arguing that's not the case, that those things are because of Cosmere. Roshar is a part of Cosmere, it doesn't exist in a vacuum. You can't ignore Cosmere and just say everything is because of Surges. Connections on Roshar aren't all formed because of Spiritual Adhesion, Connection and their formation exists outside of Adhesion, Connections are a huge part of Cosmere and there are natural laws and mechanics embedded in every part of the Cosmere, and on Roshar Connections works because those laws. Spiritual Adhesion is just another way of manipulating Connection, and is just a part of greater Cosmere. Don't get me wrong, that's my opinion. I can be wrong. But nothing that you have said didn't convince me that I'm wrong. Here you go: I disagree, from all things in Cosmere, healing is explained quite extensively. We know how it works in detail. Cosmere:
  8. Then you know the wrong Kelsier because he already refused to take both Ruin and Preservation Shards, when he had a chance, and let go of the Bands hiding them high in the mountain temple. He does want to have Allomancy again, but he isn't driven by this urge, the most important thing for him is to give powers to everybody, make it common.
  9. That's a good one. Yes, not energy per se but nutrition and calories - and what your body is doing with those? Converting it to energy (calorie is already a unit of energy so bendalloy might store literal energy, but I doubt it). By tapping bendalloymind you provide lots of nutrition to your body, that metabolizes and mitochondria (the powerhouse of the cell) provides you with energy. That's what I meant by "energy". It's indirect. And this would affect your stamina in some way, as it will give you a constant supply of energy controlled by your strength of tapping.
  10. How is life under the sea?
  11. That won't work, burning spikes is painful, not identity compatible (it's like burning someone else's metalmind) and doesn't grant you powers that this spike has stolen. This WoB is a more recent one than splicing WoB.
  12. That's not what Kelsier wants. He doesn't want more powers for himself, he wants to give powers for Scadrians, for people, democratize them.
  13. We have no idea who Rayse was as a person, you can't take his current form as he is under Shardic influence. He isn't the way he used to be. Even his coppermind page provides nothing of use to make any prediction. I highly doubt so, it's not just self-perception of being evil, it's the desire to destroy (look at WoBs). He has that a lot. I admit, I've read Elantris a long time ago and don't remember it well, but I don't think he would, at the time of Elantris he wouldn't want to use Nightblood, nor consider himself evil, even if he had done some regrettable things in his life. Just because he regrets it doesn't mean he considers himself evil . TotES:
  14. There are only bones left out of his body. And what is the organism that uses bones to recreate the body, native to Scadrial? You know it - mistwraiths. Yes, but unlike Ishar he can use his real bones. Kel would certainly want to know what Ishar is doing.
  15. But we're talking about the "if" scenario. Can he be a good father? Not just take Vin from the streets and be a good father figure for a year, but all of the "fathering" that comes with having a kid. I'm not saying he would be a perfect father, he wouldn't be, but he would be a decent father, certainly caring for his kids in that cruel world, teaching them the best he has to offer. His relations with Vin and the influence he had over her in that short year proved this. There were 2 plans. He kept one in secret. Yes, that's his weak point, he lies. And no, that lie didn't almost kill Vin, as he TOLD her in the message that he wasn't able to figure out how this metal works, and he didn't want her to face TRL. She did it on her own. He didn't "used" her, she agreed to do that on her own as a part of the team. In that way you can call every work done together as "using somebody". Soldiers weren't part of his crew. That was brutal manipulation. She did that because Kel showed her that first. He showed her that it's better to trust and be hurt than not trust at all. He constantly reminded her to smile. He was an example which showed her that it's possible to be like that. Without that, she would have never been able to learn this lesson. She did that because of Kel. He gave her a picture of flower as a reminder. No, he wanted vengeance first, create better world second. Were it not for Preservation, his plan would get every Skaa within Luthadel killed, Vin included. Kelsier got lucky. I meant "She wanted to create a better world for those she loved." Vin, not Kel. Yes it does. Scadrial Ghostbloods faction do work very well, very organized and trusting each other, they kind of are like a family, like Bridge 4. I fully get that. He isn't that good of a person and is a villain in most people's stories. But that doesn't mean he wouldn't be a good father.
  16. He lacks skills for now and he isn't a person who would deadeye Stormfather just because. But that's still true. Which means a person. I explained why I included other factors already. Were they? In most recent TFE history there were none - the biggest rebellion they could create was few hundreds people. Rebellions of that magnitude that Kelsier made were during early centuries of Rashek's rule. Yes, but you know, he's dead now Endowment was involved and Ruin somewhat as well - he has no knowledge of how to create a type 4 entity not to mention Nightblood. And unbounded Bondsmith is more dangerous than Nightblood Soulcasting? Where did you get that from? There is no Soulcasting on Nalthis.
  17. Oh, I misinterpret it as self-healing. Hoid is healing because he used to have Dawnshards, and that's his source of healing. To Renarin - yes, that's right, that's not according to me, that's according to the rules of healing - if he was perceiving himself as needing glasses and suffering from a neurological condition, then he would never be able to heal without changing that view. That's how healing in Cosmere works. Progression included. Cosmere Spoilers: That's why I am showing you that your theory explains stuff that is already explained. There is no need for a weird Division mechanic that was never shown on pages when the explanation is there. The blade changes matter into investiture - I see no Division here, more like Transformation (which doesn't change things into investiture). I think you are starting to make it too personal. I will just quote what I said earlier: You're taking a very Roshar-centric position and you are searching for patterns that focus on Surges as an explanation - that's ok. I have a different opinion which I've already explained quite extensively, with nothing more to add. And that's it from me on this matter.
  18. I highly disagree. If he and Mare had a kid he would love them and care for them even if they wouldn't have any powers. Vin was already an adult, she decided on her own to join the team, and Kel was ready to let her go if she would have said no. Trust is the most important thing in his team, not manipulation, he tells them straight up what is happening and what his plans are (except for the whole religion thing, rightfully so), but he didn’t manipulate Vin nor used her as a tool. They worked together, as Vin chose to work with him and engage in his plan - that's a different thing than manipulation and exploitation. Unfortunately they were living in the world where death could fall on them at any time, as Inquisitors were hunting them. He did the best he could in the environment they were in, and he did well. He changed Vin, taught her how to survive, to trust, to be happy, to love and to believe. He wanted to create a better world for those she loved. Kaladin didn't have a chance to prove himself in that way. Not yet. He may be a good brother but that doesn't make a good father. He does need to mature for sure.
  19. No, it doesn't. It talks about CS being a spren, not a knight in this bond. That's different. Kel would still be a spren in that bond and have a knight, not BE the knight. I believe Sizgil had a bond, different that currently (iirc), he picked up a Dawnshard, it messed up his soul, in consequence messed up his spren soul and connection between them, deadeye Aux, and here we are.
  20. @Tamriel Wolfsbaine WoB about Miles needing a lot of healing to heal damage to the soul, using medallions to heal won't be possible on that scale: That's something I've never considered before, that's a great point that should be true. That changes a lot.
  21. Unlikely. Ishar worked alone, nobody knew about that. Kelek on the other hand was a leader of a very powerful organization, that's why Kel knew about him. And Kelsier already achieved what Ishar is working on:
  22. There are several factors that would determine this. Firstly, people with strong will or who used to draw Nightblood out would be immune to him. Secondly, the way Nightblood determines who's evil is either by self-perception (if they view themself as evil) or if they want to use the sword for evil purposes, for killing, threatening, or selling it. People with mental conditions would be more susceptible to Nightbloods influence. Warbreaker ch 51: Now looking at characters you gave us: Kelsier - He certainly doesn't consider himself an evil person, but he has a very strong motivation of killing TLR - if he was given Nightblood in Era 1, you would certainly wanted to use to to kill TLR, which would make him evil in Nightblood's mind and Kelsier would end up killing himself. But Era 2 Kelsier is a sliver (which helps resisting Shardic influence - https://wob.coppermind.net/events/482/#e15356), and developed enough (mainly due to Vin and Leras) to be a better person, and would likely be either invested enough and strong minded to resist Nightblood, or wouldn't want to use it at all. Era 2 Kel would be fine. I went overboard and wrote about EVERY person you listed. I now feel bad for Ruining the fun (heh) and put it all in a spoiler box (I encourage you to check it and discuss if you want): You were right, that was fun
  23. So yes, you can't burn a spike, as that's like burning someone else's metalmind, and it would be painful, you're right on that one. It is similar to burning metalminds. But blanking the donor's identity would likely work, just like creating unkeyed metalminds might allow you to burn it. Even better, blank donor's identity and when attempting to burn the spike, blank your own identity, that would help even more, and might allow you to access that power within the spike. What would it do - we have no idea. Spikes hold powers, what would burning Allomancy do? We don't know it, there would be some effects but what we just don't know. Like in compounding, the attribute held in metalminds acts as a filter for investiture coming from Preservation, it tells that investiture to have a specific effect - burning steel tells it to push on metal, but burning steelmind tells it to grant you speed. What would burning a spike having steel Allomancy in it tell investiture? To make you a temporarily powerful steel Allomancer (as long as you're burning it)? Maybe, sounds in line with the logic. It wouldn't however grant you that power permanently into your spirit web.
  24. Yyyy, hard to say. Maybe? If you're ara capable: That's not future sight, that's how they see the world around them, look WoB above, they see it like inquisitors see. The cloak just saw an incoming arrow and caught it. The cloak caught one arrow. That's not much data. Visualization is the key to it, the better it is, the better are the results. If you made a proper visualization, then maybe, but also depending on the material. Fabric might not be "grabby" enough to stop a Shardblade like hands (tbf hands aren;t able to do that as well if the cut was made with normal speed or strength - not enough friction). That wasn't fortune. They just see. But archers on Atium would be very deadly. That's how archery works. If your target is moving, you shoot not where he is but where he will be in 1/2 seconds. Fortune/Atium not needed, just proper visualization. Yes, that's what I was talking about, but I didn't bother with finding a quote. It depends on your knowledge, visualization and atmospheric conditions. It can be very accurate, but if your visualization is bad, it won't be. Having more Breaths or Returned breath or being a descendant of Returned helps with commands and visualization. It sees him. But as said before, it depends on your visualization, you need to include that a rope needs to make a correction for moving targets to hit them accurately, otherwise the rope will throw the rock at a place where the target was when the rope started throwing that rock. This shouldn't be a problem for any logically thinking person, but for someone who has never even thrown anything in his life it might be.
  25. Because it's a natural thing that resembles a surge of Transportation. They need higher Ideal because they need a stronger bond to anchor themself in PR, that's what allows them to transform into a physical god metal (which exists in all 3 realms at the same time, creating a black hole of some sorts). Perception... That's how healing in Cosmere works. Rysn views herself as crippled, Hoid doesn't. What I said is for now we don't know if the same rules of healing apply to Dawnshards or only to people that used to be Dawnshard. I believe it's the former. Both Hoid and Rysn don't need Stormlight to heal, we just hasn't have Rysn as an example yet. Healing isn't even the only thing Progression does, it makes things grow, Stormlight doesn't make people grow. Cosmere spoilers: What? No! That's literally the explanation of Shardblade cutting. It's not Division. Is there a spiritual Division? Something like that was never mentioned. And by what surge is Nightblood cutting? Or Azure's blade? Both are Shardblades, they are cutting in all 3 realms as well, what Surge is that? None, that's just the mechanism of Shardblades, defined by natural laws of Cosmere. That's very relevant. That's how it works. Surgebinding is another manifestation of those laws of Cosmere, but not everything on Roshar is because of Surgebinding - Roshar existed BEFORE Surgebinding was created, before Surges even existed. The same goes with sprens. But those natural laws of Cosmere always existed, since creation, Roshar was created and its nature is defined by those natural laws of Cosmere. That's how Stormlight works, because Stormlight is defined by laws of Investiture, that's how spren works, because they're defined by laws about Splinters, that's how healing works, because it's defined by laws regarding healing. etc. That's where it came from, from the nature of Cosmere, not specifically from Surges. Yes, all those things are part of the same magic system (multiple magic systems at once exist on Roshar), but they all work by outside forces and rules, not because of Surges.
