Technically, we've only seen four medallion powers on screen (five if you count the nicrosil that powers it), all of which were feruchemical. Warmth, weight, connection, and memory. But, I had the impression that none of the sailors were allomancers, given how they are treated by the society. If so, how did they get the ship aloft? They'd need a steel allomancy medallion

If a site requires uppercase, numbers, or symbols, I use a normal multi-word password and then put A1! at the end. Sure, it doesn't make the password more secure, but a properly generated multiword password is already far more secure than a single word with letters capitalized, replaced by numbers, or replaced by symbols. I still stand by my drawing my work password at my desk thing. But, I also change that password constantly, and its impossible for anyone but me to tell which drawing is my current password, and I make sure not to throw away the old drawings.

New Information On AonDor Intitiation.

The "Related terms" are terms with the same linguistic roots. I don't think "dominos" have much to do with dominion or domination beyond the word roots. -
Oh! I totally missed that the Ajahs have ONE action each and have to vote on it. That's interesting. I somehow missed that part and thought each member of the Ajah had that power individually. That's fine then, I think. For anonymizing communication, here are a few suggestions: Limit the members to one or two messages per cycle, which they send to you and you send out to all the other members individually. That is complete GM gatekeeping for the communication, but it limits the amount you have to take care of and makes them think more about what they want to say before sending it. I don't know if this somehow violates the rules of this forum, but if allowed, what about creating fake accounts for each member, giving them the password, and having a group PM between them, along with the rules about if they reveal who they are with any measure of certainty, something very bad happens to them. By the way, if you're worried at all about the Black Ajah claiming to each other who they are and that ruining the idea you had for the game of having anonymous eliminators who could still communicate, what about having a non-eliminator role that can listen in on all the eliminator conversations? Give them a vig kill that, if their target is Black Ajah, they kill, but if they are wrong, they are attacked once by each member of the Black Ajah (or just unblockably attacked and killed - you just want it worded such that they can't be protected by the Yellow, unless you want them to be able to be protected by the Yellow). Then, also give the eliminators a second night kill that, if it targets the double agent, attacks them, but if it targets anyone else, the Black Ajah performing the attack takes the hit instead. If they succeed in killing the double agent, they can freely reveal to each other, which gives the double agent strong incentive not to be very careful about what they say. Basically, you give both sides a check against the other. You can give the double agent role its own win condition if you'd like too. But, the double agent thing doesn't work great in a game that has PMs. I don't like dynamic PMs, they break many good ideas xD Regarding the conversion, your game idea is an attempt to implement a bunch of what I believe are new ideas (I haven't read through many of the old games here yet, so I could be wrong). You may want to limit how many new ideas you try in a single game. The conversion, which adds someone to a cell connected to two others and such, is the clunkiest part of the game idea, in my opinion. The game might be interesting enough with just the Ajah coordination, open roles, and semi-anonymous eliminators without trying to balance the conversion and instead giving the eliminators a standard night kill. But, that's up to you.

Might as well share: Gender: Female. Sex: Transwoman. Orientation: Pansexual. Romantic Paradigm: Polyamory. Maritial Status: Married. EDIT: Science has fixed this. Same sex couples of two cisgendered individuals are now capable of having biological children, with the addition of some science. It's easier and significantly cheaper for two ciswomen, but their child will always be a girl due to how genetics works. I'll put the rest of this post behind a spoiler tag because some people are bothered by frank discussions of human reproduction:

Okay. Kynedath. What's bugging me is that no one has claimed to have pain knifed anyone, but there was no Ghostbloods kill. What's up with that?

I understand what you're trying to do with the Black Ajah communication, but it sounds to me like it will be really, really clunky in practice. Communicating through the GM will mean that the ability for them to communicate will be strongly dependent on the activity of the GM. if the GM is away, they can't communicate. That'll put a lot of pressure on you, and it would be frustrating to players who fail to communicate something important in time. The conversion mechanic is combined with an optional town kill, so if the town is lucky, they will be able to kill one per turn, while the Black Ajah are creating one player per turn. That means, in order to outpace the eliminators, the town has to successfully block or protect, along with successfully killing an eliminator every turn. Having all the roles be public would also change the game significantly, but if that's what you're going for, I guess it works? It does mean that a Red Ajah darkfriend can protect whomever they want AND prevent a town protection by redirecting a Yellow, which is pretty strong.

Okay, back..... and this is even harder to follow xD Way too much claiming and zombie eliminators. Devotion, if you happen to somehow have a PM left, I'd love to talk to you and/or people you trust completely (especially if one is Endowment). I have a plan I'd like to share in private.

I always thought that the Intent of Adonalsium was something like "Creation" or "Existence." We know that Adonalsium was at the very least able to create Splinters (the WoB about there being Splinters of Adonalsium on Roshar pre-shattering), so it wasn't totally paralyzed. It also created and designed all of the worlds that predate the shattering. Also, Preservation and Cultivation are opposites. So are Ruin and Cultivation (and, of course, Ruin and Preservation). Building something up, breaking it down, and keeping it the same are all opposites of each other, depending on how you see it. Dominion and Devotion are not opposites - Dominion is sovereignty over a section of land, Devotion is dedicating yourself to something or someone. They're totally different. I don't really see any axes where they'd be on opposite ends. To break down the Intents into simpler words to compare them: Cultivation: Making other things better/stronger. Ruin: Breaking other things down. Preservation: Keeping other things they way they are. Survival: Continuing to exist. Endowment: Giving of yourself to others. Autonomy: Independence/freedom. Honor: Keeping true to an ideal. Dominion: Having control over the land. Devotion: Dedicating yourself to an ideal. Odium: Hatred of everything. So, let's see if we can make some groupings, Allomancy-style: Internal: Survival, Autonomy, Honor, Devotion, Odium External: Preservation, Cultivation, Endowment, Dominion, Ruin Improving: Endowment, Devotion, Honor, Cultivation Maintaining: Autonomy, Preservation, Survival Destroying: Ruin, Odium ??: Dominion Physical: Ruin, Preservation, Cultivation, Survival, Dominion Idealogical: Honor, Odium, Devotion, Autonomy ??: Endowment Hmm. I'm having trouble coming up with 3-4 Allomancy-style aspects here. I've been wondering for a while if it's possible to work them into such a pattern, but I really don't think you can. EDIT: I believe this is the quote you're looking for: "He bears the weight of God’s own divine hatred, separated from the virtues that gave it context." (from the Second Letter - Words of Radiance, chapter 71 epigraph)
-
Interesting. I can confirm that Joe has no minor role (Cultivation's Shardic power failed on him). Back when I thought that everyone had at least a minor role, I had thought that meant Joe was either a Shard or Hoid, so I wasn't going to say anything (I thought it'd give Odium too good of a target). Someone recently corrected me though - it's possible to be a "worldhopper" with no roles at all.

The translation medallions don't have heat, we know. We only know of three medallions, actually - weight/heat, weight/connection, and just memories. I didn't catch that bit about firemothers and firefathers - is that in the text?
-
... err, you do know that my role and alignment were revealed, right? I mean, since being Returned, Odium or Autonomy could have Invested in me in theory, but there's literally no way I can be 17th Shard... EDIT: Also, killing the revealed eliminator won't kill them for two days and two nights - whatever mischief he has planned, he'll be able to do anyway. I'm not saying that's a reason not to kill him, but "let's stop him from causing mischief" is not exactly possible anymore. Because zombies.

Isn't there a WoB that says all Atium alloys are temporal? If so, what about: Steel: (physical/temporal external push) - Send metallic object into the future, causing it to vanish and then reappear later Iron: (physical/temporal external pull) - Hold a metallic object from changing Zinc: (mental/temporal external pull) - Erase another's memories (I like yours here) Brass: (mental/temporal external push) - Implant memories in another (I like yours here) Pewter: (physical/temporal internal push) - Cause touched object to age (metal rusts, wood rots, people wither, etc) Tin: (physical/temporal internal pull) - Postcognition (seeing into the past) Copper: (mental/temporal internal pull) - Read someone's thoughts, Preservation style Bronze: (mental/temporal internal push) - Send thoughts to another person, Ruin style (so, no ability to hear responses) Duralumin: (enhancement/temporal internal push) - Send current allomantic reserves into the future (When you start burning it, all your reserves vanish. When you stop burning it, they all come back.) Aluminum: (enhancement/temporal internal pull) - Restore your allomantic reserves removed by Aluminum or Chromium. Nicrosil: (enhancement/temporal external push) - Burn metals that are inside someone else's metal reserves as if you burned them. Chromium: (enhancement/temporal external pull) - Restore another's allomantic reserves removed by Aluminum or Chromium. Cadmium: (double temporal external pull) - Slows down time for a single other person (rather than being a bubble). Bendalloy: (double temporal external push) - Speeds up time for a single other person (rather than being a bubble). Electrum: (double temporal internal push) - Reveal another's immediate future (like a single-target atium) [or maybe reveal the person someone could become in the future? That's more interesting, but temporal stuff in Mistborn doesn't reach more than a few seconds normally] Gold: (double temporal internal pull) - Reveal another's past self.

Err, nearly every medallion contains weight on a ship, not warmth. Outside of ships, I don't know how common weight or warmth are. Presumably they have ways of keeping warm at home other than the medallions since they need to store up the Warmth somehow, which requires them to be warm without them.

Thanks for the clarification! By the way, a fact that no one has mentioned here that I think some people forgot - if we lynch Aman, he won't die for two full cycles (two days and two nights) due to being an "outed player." I don't know if that's an argument to kill him now or to wait. But, because outed players in zombie mode don't count as being alive, if every other 17th Sharder is dead, we win without having to wait for the zombie period to end.

I'm confused. Are you suspecting me of being 17th Shard? I'm suggesting that Aman has already used his one vial of Poison since he knew he'd be a major target today, so leaving him alive means he has no useful role abilities he can use. He's just a vote, and his votes are useful to see, as long as we don't leave anything close to tied. Plus, killing him kills a villager, which removes one of our votes (though their votes are stronger since they know the team layouts better than we do). (On a side note - is there anything in the game that detects if someone's been poisoned? I can cure poison by dying, but I don't get how I do that if there's no way to know if someone is poisoned or not.) Are you suggesting that going after Hoid, the eliminator super power role with five different abilities, is a bad idea? And we do know a very small set of people, one of whom absolutely has to be Hoid. That's definitely something. EDIT: The actual Hoid list is: 1. Jonly (The Only Joe) 2. Hal Heatherlock (Parodium Haelbarde) 3. Alkazar (Zephrer) 4. Bernte Ghetti (Burnt Spaghetti) 5. (MarkIV) 6. Nila Hamming (Arrenae) 7. Second of the Sky (Alvron) One of those seven are Hoid. Evidence suggests that it's Arrenae, but Arrenae could be a decoy (or another 17th Sharder). Ugh, I just realized one of the rules to this game that I don't know how I feel about - the "meta roles" are recast when someone dies with one. So, there's another suicidal analyst out there, and another stick. That means that as long as Hoid lives, there's a fair chance he'll randomly kill townies every turn or so. In fact, by my reading of these rules, Hoid can kill two townies a cycle because of the stupid Stick thing (once during the day via a vote redirect or secret vote, role is recast, and then Hoid can kill again at night with one of his other powers) =\ Yeah, that's a worst case scenario, but that's still a really annoying possibility.

theory An Possible Explanation for Taravangian's Diagram
Nyali replied to DrakeMarshall's topic in Stormlight Archive
Interestingly, Taravangian's version of unification, and just about everything he does, is the exact opposite of the Knights Radiant. He murders in the hopes of preserving life, he cares only about the destination and not what he has to do to get there, and he presents weakness at every turn to hide his strength. He protects no one, not even those he loves, he kills those who cannot protect themselves, he shares only lies with the world and his very Diagram is likely a lie, he divides, and he can't see what he's doing. His ideals are so far against the ideals of Honor that it just makes so much sense for him to be a pawn of Odium.
