Can gold healing reconstruct things that are not your body?
kenod replied to king of nowhere's topic in Mistborn
I'm guessing that gold healing either speeds up the human healing process, so it wouldn't grow back because it isn't a actual bodypart, or, as long as your connection with it is strong enough and it is part of your cognitive image. This would require an immense amount of Investure however, because you are generating matter out of energy. -

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
kenod replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When someone at work asks you to do something and you think: "I'm Truthless, I do as my master requires of me and I won't ask for explenation." -
Or pull a moon out of orbit.

Alright, thanks. When in the lifetime of the star do those form? Near the end or always?
-
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't a star contain little to no iron? Because iron takes energy to create through fusion, it could cause a star to go (super)nova. If a star with such a high amount of iron that it is visible from Scandrial excists, the planet would probably be in a lot of trouble.

WoR spoilers:

I'm not sure about the breath thing, I read on the forum somewhere that it couldn't be transfered because it wasn't part of the Spiritweb but just raw Investure, but I can't find the source at the moment.

Thanks

Agreed, you are talking about a Society that has enough tech to build flying ships, Something that even we can't (or perhaps we can, but it is inefficient without magic).
-
Not sure, but perhaps Forgers need to Forge themself? I don't mean Essence stamps, but changing themself by creating a lie, a fake past, about themself and convince themself that it is true. I got this idea from the fact that Shai seems to be talking about some family members (Aunt Lu and Uncle Won, thanks Landis) that thaught her Forgery, magical and mundane, but we have also been given evidence that they didn't exists. This would be in line with the fact that they are devoting themself to something, and the fact that the magic system works by changing the past of objects.

The ability to use Investure is in most cases also investure but Inate Investure, Investure that is part of your Spiritweb. The current theory is that Feruchemical nicrosil stores your Inate Investure, which is in line with the fact that Feruchemy seems to be only internally.
-
It's a hint that something is wrong. The current theory is that the blade was swapped (and no, it wasn't Hoid).
-
Theoretically, as long as the power is gained through the Spiritweb you can steal it. Some factors make this harder however. For example, Stormlight spoilers. Also, IIRC Breaths aren't part of the spiritweb, so you can't steal them. You can steal the ability to Awaken however.
-
Not sure about it, seeing the amount of people that accept the cookies in the introductions thread and the amount of people warning them I think it is more that we get to control your soul, or just steal it.

crazy theory Different Dalinar's Wife Theory [Stormlight 3 Spoilers]
kenod replied to Lightspine's topic in Cosmere Discussion
SO, why all these theories about Dalinar's wife? Was there a WoB that she was a Worldhopper or is this just rampant speculation, like the theory that Kaladin was Dalinar's son? -

Lightweavers might be the Strongest of the 10 Radiant Groups
kenod replied to TheBlueShifting's topic in Stormlight Archive
I myself am more interested in the limits of Soulcasting, because if they don't really have them they could create antimatter or radioactive materials if they have enough scientific knowledge.- 32 replies

cosmere Cosmere Theory and Gedankenexperiments [Spoilers]
kenod replied to Necarion's topic in Cosmere Discussion
IIRC Lashings work through modifying Spiritual Bonds, so I'm not sure if you could get the same scale. -
cosmere Cosmere Theory and Gedankenexperiments [Spoilers]
kenod replied to Necarion's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I'm thinking that we are talking past each other. If I read what you are writing correctly you are trying to find out how much Investure is inside a Clearchip. I'm trying to find out how much joule one measurement of Investure is worth. I'm just using the Clearchip as a form of measurement and could also use Breath for example. -
We have confirmation that Chromium can work on other forms of investure, and the same goes for Aluminium. So it seems more likely that Duralumin and Nicrosil also work on other forms of Investure.

cosmere Cosmere Theory and Gedankenexperiments [Spoilers]
kenod replied to Necarion's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Perhaps, but the purpose of the experiment isn't to have a measure of interference, but to conversation scale between ICC (Infused ClearChip) and Joule. -
Can't a Leecher drain Metalminds with enough training? IIRC a Leecher managed to drain Nazh's ghost gun, which used Investure and definitely didn't work using Allomancy (IIRC it manipulated Shades).

The humans also think that their powers are a lot stronger then they actually are (the people on the trading trip thought that they could let go of their limbs and regrow new ones), and there where also Voidbringers who could change shape. I'm guessing that this doesn't make for a good combination,
-
Well, this thread is about how the two surges mix to form an new power. In this case, Illumination for the appearance, and Transformation to change her own behavior.
