  1. There are actually more than 16 alloys for each of the god metals: (source) On the subject of Odium being lured to Scadrial and "raysium": (source)
  2. I for one am super excited about this! Now I just need to get a 3DS...
  3. This might be of interest: (source)
  4. Another thing to keep in mind, Urithiru (and so presumably the Oathgates as well) was abandoned long before the Recreance. I'd think that the locking of the Oathgates was done to make sure Urithiru stayed abandoned. As for why Stormseat's wasn't locked, well no one was living there anymore, they might not have felt it was necessary to lock the Oathgate in a dead, and vacant, city. (Presuming they even knew where it was anymore.
  5. "I want to see a picture of a whitespine..." Well someone is going to be happy. can't wait for the next episode!
  6. Big thank you to Claincy for sharing this: a preview of the Pistol Duels rules.
  7. Yeah, I spoke to one of the guys over twitter, turns out they both forgot about it Oh cool, I'll go put that in the Alloy supplement thread. Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
  8. You might find this thread to be of interest.
  9. I'm going to lock this thread, as there are already a number of threads for discussing the Bondsmiths. Also just so you know, any threads discussing information from Words of Radiance should go in the WoR spoiler forum, we would like to keep the main forum has spoiler-free (or rather spoiler-safe) for the 6-9 months after a book is released.
  10. We do have WoB that Honor was Splintered. Cultivation is confirmed to be alive, I have not seen anything to indicate she has lost her powers.
  11. An excerpt focusing on the city of Tathingdwen has been posted on the Gamerati website! Its fairly short, but there is a nice section of architecture (pointing out similarities bewteen modern Terris buildings and Kredik Shaw at one point). There are also a few hints about topics that may be explored elsewhere in the book. (The bell shaped hunk of metal has to have something to do with the test feruchemy, right?) The Crafty Games facebook has also post the first entry in a series discussing the evolution of the Terris: Wrought of Copper cover art here. The final hangout was supposed to be last night, after bein rescheduled from two weeks ago, but I was not able to attend and am unable to find a recording. I'm currently trying to find out what happened though!
  12. This thread has strayed into some very spoilery topics, I'm moving it to the subforum.
  13. We have WoB however that the listeners are not originally of Cultivation (or Odium) and they are not of Honor at all: (source)
  14. Yeah atium/malatium replacing cadmium/bendalloy in terms of the Rule of 16 is WoB. (I want to say it is in the annotations, but I don't have time to check right now) We do not currently know if cadmium or bendalloy mistings occured naturally during the Final Empire Era. We do have WoB on whether there are still atium/malatium, that "there are no more, in that way" What exactly that means, is up for the debate. However I thought it was pretty clear that they were trying to breed a mistborn? Also the "its been 300 years, Kelsier said it would take 300 years for the Pits to start producing again" is something that comes up all the time. I have several issues with it, one we have no idea how Kelsier came up with that number, or the validity of the estimation; two, the pits no longer exist; and three, there is no reason for Sazed to have that process continued. The Pits were put into place by Preservation to forcefully siphon off some of Ruin's power, but Sazed controls both now. I do not believe he needs something like the Pits to create atium, if it is a willing action. As for the second bit, Brandon has said that Sazed would drop a single "Harmony" as opposed to Ruin and Preservation. @xXEldestXx Preservation was able to fiddle with the rules of Allomancy a bit with the replacement of the external temporal metals but he didn't design the system. Magic systems come about naturally as a result of the interactions of shards and planets, but they are not actively planned. So Preservation didn't say "oh, I'm going to make atium let people see into the future" that is just how it ended up working out as a result of the interactions between Preservation, Ruin, and Scadrial.
  15. Like Moogle has said, nothing really interesting was asked, that we hadn't already heard before. Which is kind of unavoidable with these "moderated by a third-party" events. Here is the video, I probably won't do a transcription though:
  16. Half of the Heralds were female, Jezrien is the only one who was said to be a King before being a herald.
  17. Those are depictions of the Heralds, although how much they actually look like the Heralds they are supposed to depict is unknown.
  18. There is already a thread discussing the anthology here. WoK prime is the original draft that Brandon wrote back in 2002, its not going to be published or updated. There are significant spoilers in the book so he won't even be sending it out like White Sand or Aether of Night for quite a while. Two of the most notable differences between the two versions of the book are the absences of spren and the fact that Kaladin (or rather the character who would become Kaladin) actually took the shardblade instead of refusing it, and the book was about him becoming a shardbearer.
  19. Yes it is still going, Swimmingly answered the question so it is his turn to ask.
  20. Hmmm, I don't remember Mai where did they show up? There is also Aeo from the Hope of Elantris short story.
  21. Welcome to another instalment of "Weiry reading something and thinking it supports his theory!" this time it's a quote from the epilogue! The way this is phrased, with the stipulation of being "alive", implies to me that the spren have had to deal with individuals, just not living ones. (Its convoluted I know, but I almost jumped out of my seat when I read it during my reread). Well, implies the people they've interacted with are dead. Granted I do agree with the theory that people pass through the cognitive/spiritual realms on their way to the afterlife but "deal with" implies more than just "passing through". So who are these dead people? Well one of them could be a certain cognitive shadow. (And yes I'm aware this might just be me seeing things that aren't there but it makes sense to me, even if that makes me a little crazy. And in reality, we are the 17th Shard, we're all mad here...)
  22. WoB for all the heralds' true names: (source)
  23. There really isn't a reason not to post it I guess, beyond the fact that its an old theory (at least a year old). Personally I don't really see the use, there really isn't anything new to be discussed. I could see the point of expanding it to a discussion about what Harmony is doing with the excess Ruin, but I'd rather we just use one of the plethora of threads already discussing that.
  24. The D&D allignment system is based off of two axes, Good/Evil (i.e. Morality) and Lawful/Chaotic (i.e. Ethics). Here's a chart of the nine possible allignments and characters that embody them: For more information, Wikipedia actually has a decent article on it.
  25. The koloss having more Ruin than Preservation is a theory that has been around for awhile, though I do not believe it's ever gotten a thread of its own. It is a theory that I am certainly inclined to agree with.
