  1. Syl never says she is a bondspren. The closest I can think of that comes close to that is her telling Kaladin the name of the dark blue spren around lashed objects, which is "bindspren".
  2. Tindwyl's situation is the exception though, not the rule. Which is why the Synod was so excited for her to be a mother, because it was a very rare opportunity, they aren't putting in Feruchemists left and right. In reality they have no control over that, Tindwyl being chosen was pretty much a fluke on the part of the Ministry. Overall the breeding program was heavily detrimental for Feruchemy.
  3. The "341" comes from the Elendel map (which was made in the year 341) and the Elendel Daily broadsheet which is from the 4th of Doxil, 341.
  4. Actually the reason for Feruchemy "splitting" and the emergence of Ferrings is because of the genes for Feruchemy mixing with those for Allomancy. In the trilogy Rashek has been trying to breed Feruchemy out of the Terris population for a thousand years (while also keeping the Terris genepool separate) and there are still only full Feruchemists, no Ferrings. We have no indication that Feruchemists got weaker as time went on, that I can recall.
  5. Here's the WoB: (source) As for the bit about the Pits of Hathsin producing atium again at the time of Alloy, I see this come up all the time but there are serious issues with that. One, we have no idea where Kelsier got the "300 year" time frame from, we have absolutely no evidence that it is an accurate understanding of the Pits. Two, the Pits no longer exist. They were destroyed during the Final Ascension. The small wells of Ruin's Shardpool beneath them (and the Well of Ascension) are no more. Three, Sazed/Harmony wouldn't need the Pits to make atium. The Pits were created by Preservation to forcefully remove portions of Ruin's power without his consent, Harmony is in control of both powers now he can (probably) just will some atium into existence.
  6. Brandon has said there is no "This-is-me character" but that all of his characters are at least based on a piece of him. He has also explicitly said that Hoid is not him and that they are actually fairly different.
  7. Actually he did exist, he just didn't have viewpoints, Brandon added those later to move concern over Dalinar's sanity outside of himself but as Peter's post says he is there, just under a different name. Also, who wants to bet the man in blue towards the end is a certain darkeyed fellow?
  8. Technically, you are.
  9. It is safe to say this is a definitive no, sorry about that. The WoR Ars Arcanum refers to Transformation as "The Surge of Soulcasting", yes it is an imperfect in-world document but I'm inclined to agree with it here. Jasnah also mentions towards the end of tWoK that there were two orders who could Soulcast without a fabrial. And frankly it doesn't fit with what we understand of Surgebinding. The only ability shared by all Surgebinders is the ability to infuse Stormlight and the benefits thereof. The main abilities, the Surges themselves, are each restricted to two adjacent orders, and Soulcasting (according to everything we have been told in the books and in interviews) is one of those abilities. As Shaggai mentions I think Kaladin is just seeing into the Cognitive Realm (which I don't think is a usual circumstance) because what he is doing, or really what all Surgebinding does, is going to be reflected in the beads/cognitive aspects of whatever is being manipulated. Also keep in mind he really only glimpsed it and it wasn't a voluntary action like with how Shallan does it. Anyway, congrats on your first theory! I can see the logic behind how you got there, unfortunately I don't agree. I look forward to any future theories though! Good luck.
  10. Keep in mind those depictions aren't exactly canon.
  11. Brandon has said that Sixth of the Dusk takes place on a minor shardworld, it isn't going to have a Shard.
  12. That is kind of the point. Its a depiction of the Allomancy chart as it could have been during the Final Empire.
  13. While I am not 100% sure, I am reasonably confident that it is the rest of the Alloy annotations.
  14. I believe it is that there are codes out there that people haven't entered. I remember Peter or Brandon saying that they had made significantly more codes than were required to unlock everything because they were hoping to avoid this. But anyway, anyone who has been in chat has heard me moaning about not wanting to wait for the last unlockable, but there has been progress, every couple of days or so (at least once a wee) a code will be entered. We will get it eventually, we just need to be patient.
  15. Firefight is planned for January 6, 2015. Oi, I need to see a thread before I can step up to the plate! I think the most relevant piece is the back-of-book blurb for WoR: Edit: and I'm going to move this to the spoiler forum..
  16. I'm pretty sure the questions are supposed to be out The Way of Kings. (Checking) Yeah, here is the explanation from last week's post:
  17. Highlights: Feather fangirling/being wooed by Mraize Feather's reaction to the "I traded my humor for scars" exchange (did you figure out where the "To be human is to want what they cannot have" came from?) "oh Renarin..." Kaladin's boon...
  18. Just an FYI but the campaign is operating under "Flexible Funding" which means it will receive all funds donated regardless of whether it reaches the goal or not. But anyway go back the project anyway, I wish I had the spare money to do so, I'd love to read some of The Way of Kings Prime!
  19. *cough*check the edit history*cough*
  20. There is no Shard on Ashyn though, the WoB is quite clear on that. Believe me, I actually listened to the audio and it is obvious Brandon knew what he was talking about. (Of course that doesn't mean there was never a Shard on Ashyn)
  21. The entire cover evolution series has been posted Also GeekNative.com has posted an excerpt discussing the breeding program and village life in the Terris dominace here.
  22. The Enefel are explained on the Aon page on the wiki (which was written by a very smart and awesome contributor that you should all accept as your lord and master):
  23. Here is the actual WoB:
  24. We have absolutely no idea how they work. All Brandon has said is that the Southern Peoples access the Metallic Arts mechanically/technologically instead of genetically: (source) Chaos has a theory about this that I espouse.
