  1. Will soon visit her ancestral homeland.
  2. Wait, what's this? Something actually got added to the database in a timely manner?!? Ack! It must be a sign of the Apocalypse Final Desolation! Flee now, while you still have a chance! Also pig milk is incredibly amusing to me.
  3. That whole scene is just packed full of awesomeness and feels
  4. Oh, ouch. I knew what that sound of pain and shock was and man did that hurt to hear... And hearing everything after that like "I'll get over this" and knowing there is worse to come is very not good feeling. And unfortunately I'm kind of glad you are really angry at Shallan (which sounds really bad) because at least you aren't going into *that scene* with your previous expectations. On a somewhat happier note, "I claim him" has to be my favorite line in the book.
  5. He does have Allomancy, and he does replenish his metal reserves in that scene (he was using emotional Allomancy). Whether he used the bead in the traditional manner is currently unknown.
  6. there's this
  7. Brandon will not be at LonCon, but he will be in the area a few weeks before.
  8. "Renarin's guarding them, maybe something going to happen!" ...Something's going to happen alright, and it ain't gunna be pretty...
  9. The epigraphs from Part Two of The Way of Kings form a single missive which the fandom has nicknamed the Letter, a response appears in Part Four of Words of Radiance.
  10. Thanks for sharing, a similar video was posted a while back but I've since lost track of where so its nice to have this for reference. Kabsal does call what he is doing cymatics as well (not to mention its the title of the chapter where he does it). I do think it is super cool that Brandon brings in so much real-world physics stuff when designing magic systems and such. Satsuoni attempted to recreate some of the patterns of the "Dawncities" (as seen in one of the WoK illustrations) in this thread, but they were largely unsuccessful if I remember correctly.
  11. Its in WoK Chapter 54:
  12. As rhandric said it's being released during July 3-6 to coincide with WesterCcn where the release is being kicked-off.
  13. If you melt a metalmind the attribute remains, it only disappears when you mix metals. This thread might have been helpful for you.
  14. (serious) Since Scadrial is an Earth-analgoue they would just use normal grain, same as on Earth. Pretty much if Earth has it it's going to be on Scadrial as well (/serious)
  15. Well in Allomancy the Pushing Vs. Pulling metals feel different, perhaps a Feruchemist filling a metalmind sounds has a similar feel to the Pulling metals and one tapping feels like a Pushing metal?
  16. As per a discussion with Moogle and Tempus in chat: "You've said that a Seeker could learn to detect Feruchemy, would a Feruchemist tapping an attribute at x2 have "louder" bronzepulses than a Feruchemist tapping at 1x?"
  17. I'm not 100% about any of them except Brandon's but Mary did mention the tidally-locked moon story in a recent episode.
  18. I'm pretty sure all the stories were brainstormed on Writing Excuses Mary's has a tidally-locked moon. Dan's is a military fantasy called I.E.Demon (I'm not 100% sure about this one, but it is the only brainstorming one with Dan) Howard's I don't remember but here's the episode. And Brandon's. Of course that's mostly just guesswork, the official announcement should clear things up.
  19. I like the first black and white version visually but I have hard time parsing it into the three diamonds so I quickly through together a colored version (using your black and white one as a base) where the diamonds are different colors (As opposed to all being red)
  20. OOh thanks for sharing! This is the first I've heard about the title! (I'm going to move this to a new thread though, it deserves its own place.
  21. Weiriah slipped out of her families hiding place, it wasn't as early a start as she had hoped but the twins hadn't wanted her to leave. "What if you don't come back?" they said. She had smiled and told them that everything would be all right but their question stuck in her mind. What if I don't come back? The answer was a simple one. I have to... After leaving Nellek specific instructions (Stay out of sight, don't attract attention and above all don't answer the door to anyone, under any circumstances, unless they knew a special knock) she had made her way down to the street, luckily no one was watching, at least no one she could see. The streets were worryingly empty, at least in this section of the city. Every few streets though she saw somebody dead or dying. What has the world come to?
  22. Oh wow, that was really interesting! A couple of notes: Given the following quote I would definitely lean towards "no" on that. You're right it has been confirmed (be you actually)
