Hence me saying it doesn't seem to fit the convention. There could very possibly be a book, but having one book named after an order and none of the others feels out of place to me. "Lightweaver" was a proposed title for WoR after Brandon decided against tBoEP, but Brandon shot it down because it felt too "on the nose" (or something along those lines). Also I wouldn't call The Book of Endless Pages a working titles because it was the Planned title. Working titles are for when you don't know what the final project is going to be called but need something to call it for now, but it is never intended to be the final name. TBoEP *was* intended to be the final name, Brandon just realized it was bad, so he changed it. Likewise Stones Unhallowed was intended to be the final name, from what I have seen, and it still might be depending on when Rothfuss gets out Day Three (though that might have been a joke?). Edit: Granted this is my understanding of the situation. I am not, however, actually "in the know" about such things, I'm not Brandon or Peter after all.

Here is Chaos' signing report on it. He *is* asking for the name of an Intent, so I would say the "hide and survive" is at least partially do to the Intent. That said "Survival" is unlikely to be Intent (since it doesn't exactly include the hide part)

Tolkien... I mean Slowswift...

Book titles are reused all the time, so it wouldn't preclude Skybreaker being the title of Brandon's book. That said I was under the impression that "Skybreaker" was only ever a working-title? It doesn't seem to fit with the "name the novels after in-world books" theme he wants to do.

So I had an idea, what if the Ones Above are a multi-planetary organization? Possibly with Scadrial being one of the founding members, who added the Prime directive thing under the guidance of Harmony. Those that are visiting First of the Sun are then a group trying to skirt that rule through a loophole.

Writing Excuses Anthology title: "Shadows Beneath"
WeiryWriter replied to masaru's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Out of the four stories, I think I like Mary's the best (blasphemy I know). Then Brandon's. Dan's and Howard's I didn't like as much, but they were still decent enough stories. Dan's is the only one where I didn't feel like I wanted more. -
In what book the name of Scadrial was mentioned ?
WeiryWriter replied to Grim1369's topic in Mistborn
The name "Scadrial" is not mentioned in the books, Brandon told us it in an interview. The name does get mentioned in the Alloy of Law Ars Arcanum though. Same thing with the cosmere, we learned a lot of that information from interviews.- 1 reply

I really liked it! The ending did feel rushed but I thought it made sense from Dusk's point of view. I would have like it to be longer, for many reasons though. I'm not really getting a Scadrian-vibe from the Ones Above though, unlike most of you. Their methodologies are not something I can see Harmony endorsing. He definitely would not like taking advantage of an entire people/planet and he would probably take action or send someone to intervene (like he did with the Vanishers). I like the pseudo-Prime Directive thing, though I don't like what Ones Above are doing in trying to skirt it. I'm pretty much against the invasion of the Pantheon, preserve the environment people! I want to know how the mind-sense works, maybe its akin to life-sense? Or maybe there are some Cognitive Realm shenanigans going on? I'm liking the Splinter of the Survival Shard theory and the idea that the emerald lake is a Splinterpool. An FYI, the workshop episodes are going to start airing next week.

Possibly, you might have to install an ebook-reading program though. But there are plenty of free ones online. -

ooh! I'm super excited! Don't think I'm going to get the limited edition though... -
Yep! He's physically a young Returned, but chronologically he is one of the oldest (iirc he's twice as "old" as Lightsong).
-
Nope, and just an fyi I will not accept generalities, I'm thinking of a specific individual. So things like "a kandra" or "a Returned" will not be accepted even if the individual is a kandra or a Returned, I want their actual names.
-
Nope tot all of these.

One of the youngest, and yet one of the oldest.

Is it the Ironsights?

Mental Commands require the tenth Heightening, which only the God Kings have achieved.

Moving this to Cosmere theories. -
There is WoB on this that I will try to find, basically Roshar has no axial-tilt so it has no seasonal variation. The "seasons" that are mentioned are more of a translation quirk, i.e. Rosharan "winter" is a period of colder weather, "summer" is a period of warmer weather. @Surgebound Rainspren, would you mind finding a reference for that? I do not recall anything like that. Edit: Found it! Really didn't take that long. From Writing Excuses Season 9 Episode 23 (link to transcript) Edit 2: On a sidenote, distance from the sun really has a negligible effect on the seasons, it is entirely based on axial tilt. For example, at aphelion (when the Earth is the farthest from the sun) the Northern hemisphere is in the middle of summer, at perihelion (when Earth is closest to the sun) the Northern hemisphere is in the middle of winter.

Question about the Cosmere as it relates to SA
WeiryWriter replied to navybrandt's topic in Stormlight Archive
A minor note: 1. the "Stormfather predating humanity" thing Moogle mentions is by no means definite, I certainly don't read the quote that way. (granted I have a "complicated" relationship with the Stormfather but that is beside the point for this. The quote (I believe Moogle refers to is this (correct me if I'm wrong though): To me this does not imply he pre-existed humanity at all.. -
The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon
WeiryWriter replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Why are aurorae never mentioned in the Mistborn trilogy? Luthadel is situated at the Magnetic North pole so they should be appearing in the center of the Empire, and yet there is not one mention. -
Perhaps we should keep all the discussion to a single thread?

HMMM... You know, for some reason I like the sound of this.
