As far as we know the Rider of the Storm (the Spren who became Stormfather) and the Nightwatcher may be Adonalsium's Spren. Not H&C's Splinters ... We know too little of both of them, but probably the 3rd book will give us a lot of aswers ;-)

I too think that the use of "father or mother" is more about guide and less about parentship.... After all the Stormfather is pretty an unique being born from a series of unique circumstance. The Nightwatcher whatever is, is probably not the Cultivation analogue of the Stormfather. PS: Many Spren on Roshar predate the H&C arrive on the planet and they are made of Adonalsium's Investiture

To be honest (but probably is better to start a new topic about) I always thought that Wax was stronger than Kelsier as Coinshooter... After all He develop Savantism in years and years of Allomantic use while Kelsier also if probably had a powerful base power can't develop so far his Savantism... Remember Kelsier lived in a time where his Allomancy may cost him the life. Anyway returning to the Investiture VS Investiture topic, I don't think an object have to be as Invested as a Shardblade to stop a Shardblade (you just need to remember the Half-Shard). More is invested and more resist to other Investiture but this isn't an ON-OFF switch. For example an Object with some Breath inside would probably resist to a Shardblade proportionally to the amount of Breath it has (and in the end Nightblood would stop and overcome a regular Shardblade).

theory The Limitations of Soul Forgery
Yata replied to DrakeMarshall's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
The Soul Forgery works re-writing the Subject's Soul (or Spirit Web/Spiritual Aspect) therefore I don't think it may affect others near objects. -
Sorry man, I forgot the reference in tag spoiler I will post the part with Vax's reference... It's far to be a real Spoiler, because in the end it just some lines of "I don't know". But this isn't the right section of the Forum therefore the Spoiler Tag are needed. Spoiler from Elantris 10th anniversary

To be honest we know that Investiture mess with other Investiture and we have WoB about Invested Objects stop Shardblade. For example we know a Metalmind may stop a Shardblade. My first question to mister Sanderson: About Steelsight, both Wax and the Inquisitors are Steel Savants... their ability to "sense" things with them is beyond the normal uses of Allomancy.

No, the "standard" Blessings may be of many pure metals (not alloys): Iron steal Strenght for the Blessing of Potency Tin steal Senses for the Blessing of Awareness Copper steal Mental capacity for the Blessing of Presence Zinc steal Emotional fortitude for the Blessing of Stability They may probably use every Hemalurgic Spike to gain sentience but these are the common used in the Final Empire (and to be honest the ancient Kandra's Blessing covered all the knowledged metals) But they are all "standard" Hemalurgy Spike with Human attributes... The reason they give sentience to a Kandra is about the Mistwraths are Human with a Cognitive Deficit.... You push with the Spike more Human Spirit Web into them to overcome the Cognitive Blockage that TLR designed for them.

Every Invested Object may stop a Shardblade... I think there is very little possibility that Oathgates keys are made of Alluminium and in the same way also that is part of Shardplate
-
Investiture may become Energy/Matter and Vax is a place with his own Magic System and exist in the same time with Scadrial. It's impossible that Vax is a "Pre-Scadrial"
-
Maybe Vax is the place where Ruin & Preservation were before to go together to create Scadrial. It's possible that Vax is a misty place and R&P made Scadrial like that because they liked Vax

Just a think, while in my previous post I made an hypotesis about the Vessels dyed the Shards. It's not what I think is happened... It was just a possibility. I am more about what someone called "little intent".....all Adonalsium's personality/intent/mandate was divided in 16 part every faceting was "trap" inside one of the 16 Shards and what we saw as Shard's Intent is just the sum of every facetings inside of it. Anyway if you want continue with the "dying Shard" idea, You have to notice that Sazed was kind man but he for his personal experience was deeply Connected with Ruin... one guy doesn't have to be a jerk to be Connected to Ruin... Also a deep understanding of entropy/life/death may give to a men a peculiar PoV on the World... but this doesn't turn the man in a bad person. Ati maybe was a kind, generous but pessimistic may, we don't know him as human....and probably we will not knowing him as human for years

Probably Ruin simply told them where are the Feruchemist... After all Ruin from the Cognitive may probably see who are a magic user and who not. I find hard to believe that Ruin may teach to the Inquisitor how to find other Investiture-pulses while He can't teach them how to compound
-
Feruchemy and other Inner Magic Systems are harder to hear I think... After all your own Investiture "covers" more a pulse than External Magic System like Allomancy where a Stream of investiture cames from the outside of the user

So How Much More Cosmere-Aware will We Become?
Yata replied to VirtuousTraveller's topic in White Sand
Maybe but He would lose some "benefits" of be Connected with a Shardworld and I am unsure if he would do it -
To be honest is the thing I though when I read the books... but then someone here on the forum made me notice that the guards has something strange and I began to think differently.
-
Yeah we know a Shard's Intent doesn't apply to Himself/Herself

[Theory]The Cognitive Realm and it's appearance.
Yata replied to Windborne Sword's topic in Cosmere Discussion
We may need a new Word to refer as this elements...I am pretty "new" to the forum, how did we decided some terms before Brandon tells us the canonical term ? Because as temporary term "essence" may work- 27 replies

You have right, but in the Warbreaker Annotations, Brandon said how the battle went:
-
yeah but knowing Mister Sanderson, this may mean... "everything XD" ... May be "Yeah the Guards are made of Alluminium" or "You are right searching on thing that may resist Investiture". In the end, and I am an idiot to think it just now... the guards may be everything high invested, for example Metalminds with the right form. For years I joked with a Friend of mine of a Duel between a Shardbearer and a Windwhisper (Tin Ferring) who fight with a Tin Sword while he store all his Smell sense... He may create alone a tons of Anti-Shardblade weapons or objects. My first question to mister Sanderson:
-
@CaptainRyan: In another old post I already speculated on this, the Information we have seems to disprove your first possibility but probably you have right (or may be right) with the second one (the little intent that made the great ones). But it's really possible that what we call Intent/Mandate are a side effect of the Shattering....Something like "Once Adonalsium was killed, the Vessel have to pick up the power and they used some strong Spiritual Connections they have to pull it... In the end, the first Vessels "dyed" the Power with an Intent through their method to obtain it.

[Theory]The Cognitive Realm and it's appearance.
Yata replied to Windborne Sword's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Sorry man, I often make mistakes with the English Anyway we saw some Shardworlds' Cognitive Realm and Threnody has nothing of the peculiar features of the Cognitive Realm. I want to remember you that also Roshar has a great Cognitive Influence (the Spren and Cognitive Shadow are quite the same.... just the Cognitive Shadows are "HumanSpren") but it's physical realm not in the cognitive. Scadrial's CR is the only one we saw deeply and it's pretty Mist.... Probably the CR of EveryShardworld reflect how the Investiture manifest itself in the physical. I am not talking of the Focus, but exactly how the Investiture "spawns" naturally In the Physical.- 27 replies
