  1. Did they run out or something? I got mine like a month ago but I haven't had a chance to read perfect state.
  2. Haha I love how cryptic we are being: "we may have seen someone we may not have met yet" "a question was asked to see if the person we are thinking of is the person that we are asking about" "yes, what I am thinking is probably what we are all thinking in regards to the person that might be the person who we are all thinking of" "the person who is the sister of that guy from the reading?" "the very same" "indeed" "quite"
  3. It was a pretty good chapter. Another interesting view of young Dalinar, and I believe we may have seen someone we haven't met yet.
  4. Yeah...that is kinda the whole climax of the book. I will admit that there are a lot of climax's in quick succession, but Raoden's realization of that is what sets everything in motion. He realizes this when he is in the shardpool and decides to not accept death. http://coppermind.net/wiki/Elantris_(book) (Part 3: The Spirit of Elantris) I missed a lot of things, every time I re-read it I find something else out. No worries.
  5. okay okay, I'll be cool
  6. It maybe was a deal of some sort. We aren't sure of who all was involved with the supposed deal. I would go into the stormlight archive and search for tags such as "heralds" "desolation" "damnation" "oathpact".
  7. My dog died of getting hit by a car when I was 10, but I don't get upset anytime someone mentions cars, or makes a joke involving a dog getting hit by a car. How are they supposed to know that I had an experience like that in my life? It would be very self-centered of me to get upset about something they couldn't possibly have known about, nor should I since they obviously aren't referring to my specific situation. Yeah, cancer sucks, I've lost family and pets to it, but it doesn't hurt to crack a joke every once in awhile to bring some smiles into a dark situation.
  8. I wouldn't call this awakening. Awakening is the art of endowing objects with investiture, on Nalthis. You "awaken" something. In your example, nothing is being awakened. I do think that the process of giving your breath to someone is similar to what happened in your quote. Breath is just investiture, it takes investiture to perform a magic, and it seems like that Dakhor monk gave up/used his innate investiture to fuel the transportation. I would not call that awakening, or even a twisted form of it. Maybe they can only give up innate investiture (breath) easily on Nalthis because of the influence of Endowment.
  9. People give away their breath in Elantris?
  10. I still think Wayne has a decent amount of depth and more to him than we know. I'm certain Sanderson could write a book with him as the main character and I would enjoy it. I did find that on my second read of Stormlight 1 & 2, Rock annoyed the crap out of me. In my opinion, he is a one dimensional character, who serverd a purpose in the beginning, but not really anymore.
  11. I'm mostly excited to see what has changed from the unpublished work. I've only read a few graphic novels so I am curious as to see what has been left out, added, or changed. Side note: The story is mainly about Kenton, so don't be disappointed if Khriss isn't the main focus.
  12. You may want to check out some of the topics on the BoM board http://www.17thshard.com/forum/forum/77-bands-of-mourning-spoiler-board/ I don't entirely understand it either, but there has been a lot of discussion about it. Also, welcome!
  13. Jasnah tried to soulcast the jam into something she has never tasted before, so that's probably why it tasted bad. I think when the armies are soulcasting food they try to make it the most basic stuff, i think the more complicated you try to get, the more risk you have of breaking the gem used. So I imagine its like tofu, bland. When they say flavorless I believe they are exaggerating, because it is impossible for something to not have a flavor.
  14. I believe the count is over 44 at this point
  15. I don't believe that a set of shardplate is a spren. If it was a spren, than proto-radiants who wore the plate would hear screams just like they do when they hold a dead shardblade. Also, it's always in the physical realm, whereas sharblades have to be called back to life every time (just another example of how they are different.
  16. What if a slider or pulser was inside an aluminum box and put up a bubble................................
  17. In order to destroy evil, one has to have the ability to understand/conceptualize what evil is/means. So, I believe that is why nightblood gained some amount of sapience, that way it has the ability to fulfill its command (which is why it took so many breaths).
  18. That's a great idea, similar to my balloon propeller idea but you could go much faster. Why does it have to be a unicycle, it could easily be a bicycle and you just push on the wheel spokes in front of you.
  19. Also, it was stated that it would take 300 years for the pits to start producing atium again. It took The Lord Ruler roughly 1,000 years to gather it all.
  20. You have much to learn and many books to read, young padawan
  21. I could see a coinshot making a personal flying device. Strap a big ol' balloon to a chair Put a propeller on the back with metal edges sit in chair gain altitude push on propeller win
  22. Hello, Welcome to the rabbit hole...ha..haha....muahahahahahahahahaha Your universe/cosmiverse will be simultaneously larger and smaller You will never leave........................................................... Also, your productivity at work will decline
  23. I mean, technically you warp time-space, and so does everything that has a mass; the time dilation effects would be insignificant at those weights though. I'm not going to do the calculations, but I'm guessing that even if you stored 99% of your weight for your entire life, that still wouldn't be enough to create any noticeable time dilation effects...also if you did manage to increase your weight that much, you would probably break the planet you are standing on, and/or mess with its orbit around the sun, and everything around you would come crashing towards you and probably kill you. Also you forgot that Wax would have the same powers as Wayne when Wax makes himself lighter...PHYSICS!
  24. Maybe an example of freuchemical savantism would be phsyiological effects. Like when a Kandra (I forget which) asks Wayne if they can have his bones, because gold ferrings have interesting bone structures. Pewter Ferring: Might have really messed up joints from going from wasting away, to being extremely buff. just a thought.
  25. Haha yes. When they are referring to Siri, that is an in-world term for Nalthis (people in the book use it) Does anyone know if the term "Vessel" is an in-world term for Scadrial, or a term that we as readers will be using, or both?
