  1. Oh yeah, i meant Nale, not Taln. Okay, I will accept the healing fabrial.
  2. Can someone explain to me again how Szeth was healed by Taln at the end of WoR? Did Taln have an honorblade that had the power of progression?
  3. I never wanted my career to be my passion, I wanted my life outside of work to be my passion. So I chose a profession that was something I don't hate/mildly enjoy, pays well, has a good work/life balance. I ended up as a Business Analyst/Project Manager in an IT department.
  4. You are correct, Chaos. That was a tad disrespectful. Sorry, Windrunner. I should have realized that your statements weren't necessarily towards the OP. Also sorry for going on the offensive. Side note, I will avoid responding to posts when I've had a few too many Horneater Ale's.
  5. Dude, did you read the OP? There were 5 options, only one of which said there "might" be a worldhopper. The purpose of the post was to point out that this game has been seen elsewhere and it's not from Roshar. Also, apologizing for being a buzzkill is "expletive deleted". Be a buzzkill and own up to it, or don't be a buzzkill and have fun. Be a little more rigorous with reading the OP.
  6. On page 600 of AU, I noticed something that sounded really familiar to a game that a confirmed Worldhopper from Nalthis has played in the Stormlight Archive, Zahel/Vasher. "The children seemed to love it. They ran up and down the steps, laughing and giggling. Others sat in circles on the ground, playing games with painted pebbles." This game seems awfully familiar to the game that we saw Zahel playing. "Kaladin marched them up to Zahel, who stood at the back of the sand-covered courtyard. Though the other ardents all busied themselves carrying water, towels, or sparring weapons to dueling lighteyes, Zahel had drawn a circle in the sand and was throwing little colored rocks into it." This could mean a number of things: The game that Zahel/Vasher brought over from Nalthis (Travel edition of Tarachin) has spread to other places in Roshar, and is played by many. The kids that live in the orphanage learned the game from "The Stump" (the lady who runs the orphanage). The Stump just learned it from other people playing it on Roshar The Stump might be a Worldhopper, or knows Worldhoppers, and learned the game from one or both of those possible facts. The kids learned it from the guy who might be Hoid. Other reasons that I have not thought of... Did anyone else notice this, am I crazy, is it just coincidence?
  7. Well, Honor is already splintered. So you must be referring to Cultivation getting splintered.
  8. Perhaps it might be like how Wayne was able to use a shotgun to shoot Telsin. He only could do it because he knew that Telsin couldn't die. Just like Hoid could only hurt Kelsier, because he was already dead?
  9. On my re-read of Secret History, this sentence jumped out at me. From page 28, " Finally Drifter hauled him up, limp. The man’s eyes were glowing. “That was unpleasant,” Drifter said, “yet somehow still satisfying. Apparently you already being dead means I can hurt you.” " I don't know if this has been discussed elsewhere, but it seems as thought this sentence implies that Hoid/Wit/whatever you want to call him has to play by some rules. We never see him do anything violent in any of his appearances in all of the books. Could that be because there are some cosmere like restrictions on his ability to cause harm to people? How would that come to be, is it part of a magic system? He seems surprised that he can hurt Kelsier, and he comes to the conclusion that he can hurt him because his physical body is dead. Does that mean Hoid cannot cause harm to physical bodies for some reason?
  10. I feel like that death rattle is talking about the parshendi

    Sazed balance

Before Sazed ascended, Elend and all of the atium mistings burned up all the Atium, lessening Ruin's power.
  12. same difference. The orders are arranged by the surges But you are more correct than I am
  13. 3. Perhaps the patron of the Stonewards, Talenel/Stonesinew, the one who did not abandon the oathpact influenced the shin, who revere stone. Something like that.. Maybe all the other heralds were like "yo, shin, you like stones right? Wanna guard the honorbaldes for when your herald returns while we go do whatevs?"
  14. Might as well introduce them to the basis of modern fantasy. The Fellowship of the Ring, or the Hobbit. IMO, most modern fantasies are influenced in some way by Tolkien.
  15. The 10 little circles represent the 10 surges. http://coppermind.net/wiki/File:TWoK_Front_Endsheet.jpg
  16. I have always been confused about Shallan. From what I understand, she started lightweaving and hangin out with Pattern before her mother tried to kill her. Before her mother tried to kill her, her dad was normal, and it was described that she had a happy life. Multiple times pattern said that he was attracted to her lies, but he was already there before she started lying to herself about her mom. So yeah, I'm lost on that one.
  17. You could ask if Herdazians/Lopen specifically has some knowledge of the religion from Scadrial that centers around the idea of a finite amount of luck. They don't mind if bad things happen because that means they will have good things in their future or something like that. When I was re-reading TWoK/WoR, Kaladin asked Lopen how he stays so happy. Lopen responded with a comment that struck me as suspiciously similar to this religion from Scadrial.

    Cosmere Symbol

The little star thing in the middle has 16 points. 16 shards....
  19. Shallan and Kal hook up, Adolin gets mad, boom he is broken. I could see him becoming a skybreaker. He is always talking about what is right and wrong, mostly in regards to what sadeas did. He has trouble deciding on his own what is right and wrong (windrunners), so he leaves it to law to guide his decisions (sort of). edit: I just found a WoB that said that adolin would likely not be a skybreaker.
  20. I threw a big party for all my frands, got a quarter barrel of spotted cow, had a costume contest, rejected people's requests to borrow my signed first edition Cosmere novels, made efficient use of pumpkins, and then proceeded to be very hungover the next day.
  21. My question has always been. If Lift eats food, then turns it all into stormlight, does she get any of the nourishment? If it disappears from your stomach like the metals do, how does her body survive without getting any of the calories. She will starve if she constantly turns it all into stormlight.
  22. Q: Why are mistborn/feruchemists/surgebinders/elantrians/awakeners financially stable? A: Because they are all really good at investing
  23. I'm sure that for everyone who hasn't read the word doc would likely think it was hoid.
