Kindle Version difficulties
ParadoxicalZen replied to Landis963's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
any ideas on when the UK version is getting updated? -
I was thinking about trying to ask for the hide and survive Shard's name but I might settle for a Shardholder's name we don't know (or the Shard that isn't invested in a planet, unless I'm misremembering that one)
-
He probably means White Sand, as Khriss is from Taldain

I know, which I'm afraid whatever questions i ask will be >.> I was comparing the two Trell's and from what I can tell, I don't believe they are. Pre-FE, Trelagism was all about mapping the stars, learning and mathematics and the Nelazan weren't an advanced people. So perhaps either someone purposely altered them (Saze/the Set) or something very fishy is going on here. It sounds quite similar to the way Rashek acted or perhaps the Citizen guy in Era 1, as someone mentioned in another topic a while ago.

Man I am slow this week. Missed this, then with the other topic. Now that I've given it a lot more thought, I've got a few better ideas kicking around but there's a question or two I'm thinking of asking brandon first e.g.. have we ever seen the 'Trell' from Era 2 physically on-screen in-book?
-
It might be an idea to ask if Trell actually is a Shard (at least, I don't recall if it actually has been confirmed, only insinuated)
-
We don't actually know. My headcanon/theory is that it is a Dawnshard, or perhaps what is left of one

Paired Shards and Honour's Opposite
ParadoxicalZen replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It is possible. One of my questions i want to ask are whether the Shards can be placed into groupings, similarly to Allomancy with metals -
That's storming rad! all that is needed now is either a group or a Lightweaver/Shallan cosplay ^^

Aye, posting that whilst half awake on night shifts seemed like a good idea at the time. What is the actual colour of the spike as something is bugging me about what Mile said at the end of AoL but I can't remember the exact wording was Idle thought; could the Southern Scadrians be involved?

There is also the literal intepretation; Wax is Harmony's Ruin/ruin aka downfall? -
I have learned that books and comics are deceptively heavy when boxing up for moving house, as they take up a remarkably small volume yet weigh so much when condensed into a small space. Go figure.

AoL era takes place after SA, although how long remains to be seen. It is speculated to be any of the following; alongside yet just after WoK/WoR In the break between each half Could be after SA as a whole I'm of the opinion many share that it is an Alloy of Odium and Autonomy, as it was described with red flecks wasn't it? Although i'm a little sceptical

Initiated...hmm. To me it seems that it could be term the AAA uses to define people accessing a magic system for the first time. -

Empathy is required for that kind of profession...to an extent. After all you don't devote your life to become a Doctor of medicine because you feel you might like it or it looks interesting (granted there are probably some that do). You do it because you want to help people (for whatever medicine related reason) and want to understand what exactly it is they're going through to offer them the correct treatment/advice etc. The trick is (as Lirin so aptly highlighted to Kaladin and is one of the problems he has yet to deal with) when to stop caring. Actually i think House did care...to a very, very small extent. Perhaps it might be a good question to ask Brandon if there's a similar system between a pre-disposition that attracts a Nahel Spren and what kind of Allomantic/Feruchemical/Twinborn powers you get when Snapping occurs.- 41 replies

Quick note on Willshapers and Elsecallers
ParadoxicalZen replied to FirstSelector's topic in Stormlight Archive
Can't recall off the top of my head all the interlude characters from WoK/WoR. Rysn, Axies, Eshonai, Ym, Lift, Szeth, The Purelaker, Mr T, anyone else i'm missing? Out of that list, I'd say mainly Rysn or Eshonai -
CAH = The food of Gods. Best played with an alcoholic beverage (or two) and friends who get the greatest joy out of tormenting each other (that and my humour is also pretty dark/dry/sacastic/cynical) *fistbumps*

Which raises the question; Can it/they determine what he sees? *cuedramticsuspensemusic*

Now that you mention it, something just clicked in regards to the Renarin's speech patterns during the visions, Death Rattles and the Unmade responsible for them. I can't remember if it was via WoB or was an opinion/view offered by a Sharder but there was something about that the Unmade responsible can't control what is said or whatever it was, mind is blanking so I can't remember. Basically what I'm getting at is when Renarin's speaks of the vision content during the visions, it is rather vague and clipped similarly to the Death Rattles, although it is more focused on events occurring at that time and place so perhaps there is a link. I wish i could remember where that Unmade info was or what it was actually about

Ah, but the question remains; does something funky/freaky happen when they do?

Shadows of Self signing report: San Jose/Menlo Park, CA
ParadoxicalZen replied to Cosmologist's topic in Events and Signings
Moving to a different planet when you're heavily Invested is apparently very hard to do, and not without ramifications, but not impossible. My idea is if they fully detach themselves then they'd be able to reclaim the rest of their Investiture in the pool (via WoB, if Ruin did manage to win, then he'd have to physically manifest to reabsorb the Atium) or the pool is something of an inadvertant anchor, given it can be used to enter the Cognitive Realm physically and is quite potent. The fact that Preservation's refilled after 1000+ years means it doesn't go back to the Shard's active resource, or if it does, it drains again (albeit slowly) It's hard to say what happens after a Shattering event as the only pool we've seen in that scenario on-screen is Elantris, but it seemed alright. We'll see. That is a really good question and one i might consider asking at the SoS signing
