[possible spoiler] Who was bleeder talking too?
ParadoxicalZen replied to vatsan16's topic in Mistborn
It could be possible that since his Shards are intermingled slightly, combined with the fact that when we see Vin and Ati on the Shardplane any actions are negated, that given the Shards polarised Intents Saze's own Ruin could be diverting his gaze, if how he finds people is using Preservation. Or perhaps his Intermingled nature prevents him from finding it somehow, or maybe like from Era 1, Ruin couldn't seethe Atium so perhaps it has shielded itself. That or this splinter is hiding itself, hence the use of agents. Who else would know more of Hemalurgy and want to ruin what Harmony helped build more than Ruin? The trell spike could be an Atium/Lerasium/other-metal alloy that was perhaps more Atium (ergo, Decay/Ruin) given the red rust-like flecks -
I'm of the opinion he is something akin to a Sliver

WOB on the Moon Scepter's Use
ParadoxicalZen replied to teknopathetic's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
1) i think given that the sceptre is a symbol of the Rose Empire (ergo a sign of Dominion) it could be that there are tools more aligned with Dominion, like that of the sword and sceptre, whereas the systems aligned more with Devotion may use an amplifier akin to Elantris 2) I asked about if the gemstone mentioned in minor SA spoilers was one that could be on sceptre but I got a no on that one. We aren't given a description of the sceptre (which was why I asked in the first place) 3) I think Hoid might come up with a way to hack it so as to help with language translation, as well as magic hacking. Seeing as Elantris/TES are early Cosmere, it would make sense. 4/5) presumably, given the way Ashraven's soul forgery worked and providing people believe the sceptre is the real one, it could be possible for it to be used to translate and form Aons etc. using other types of investiture -
It did but it was the kinda sub-pilot pilot, the one that is only half touched up if you get what I'm trying to say

I'm of the opinion it is one spike. Harmony says in book that the more spikes you have, the greater connection between the person and Harmony is, meaning the easier it is for Harmony to take control of them. Now seeing as we know Kandra blessings are pairs and that Paalm clearly had taken one half of her blessing out,, you could say that at least two spikes are required for Harmony to at least immobilise someone (a Kandra anyway) if we go by the ending. For the allomancy and Feruchemy spikes, my head canon is that as she was absorbing one spike as she was expelling the other, to prevent reverting back to a Mistwraith, which could explain why Harmony was able to see her for very brief moments, as the blessing would be somewhat complete but not long enough for him to stop her

Where's WalDo: The Kandra Worldhopper
ParadoxicalZen replied to Kobold King's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I had not seen this one. Brings into question about the time gap between era 1 and Sa, seeing as Thinker has an appearance. If era 2/SoS does happen after SA part one then Saze must have been active Cosmere-wise a fair bit post-ascension -
The actual phrase 'voiding or mortal' so they are pretty powerful
-
Pretty epic! Maisie did an amazing job and I like the possibilities the ending provides
-
I saw the early pilot a few months ago, it was surprisingly good. Very reminscent of Smallville (although the music wasn't that great) It was't too cheesy but it had a bit of that Jimmy-Kimmel-Black-Widow-movie-skit vibe so I hope it doesn't go too into that

EDIT: With Blaze's idea on this with the extra bit of Ruin, but with a twist. That extra bit has become a Splinter. We know that it is possible minor Cosmere/Stormlight spoilers Granted we don't know what Saze has done exactly with that excess Ruin but I'm speculating he would most likely have expelled it early on after his Ascension as it would be taxing to keep trying to maintain a loaded balance. He could have done this early on, not fully realising the consequences of doing so, as demonstrated by his rookie-mistake(s) in SoS. Again, we also don't know how long it takes for a Splinter to develop a mind of it's own but given that the extra bit probably is a noticeable portion of Investiture, it's possible it could have taken say...a few hundred years or so? Not only that but it would also explain the extra few tricks Paalm's managed to do with Hemalurgy (using Allomancy/Feruchemy as a Kandra) as Hemalurgy is Ruin's art If those red flecks are actually rust, and not of Odium, it certainly does make the curse Rust and Ruin interesting no?

[possible spoiler] Who was bleeder talking too?
ParadoxicalZen replied to vatsan16's topic in Mistborn
EDIT: Just remembered Blaze1616 has this similar idea, /Shardfail I'm wondering if Saze has expelled the excess Ruin, perhaps early on, and it has somehow gained sapience/sentience. As we know Ruin can talk/project the holder's thoughts into the minds of those with Spikes/holes in the spiritweb, whilst Preservation could only hear their thoughts but not convey it's own directly. In book we see a couple of conversations using cognitive methods; Wax and Harmony & Paalm plus this Mystery entity. In Era 1, it is shown that Ruin can only know what someone was thinking by hearing their words/thoughts spoken aloud (along with changing any words not transcribed into metal) In Wax's scenario, we see Harmony both speaking into and reading Wax's mind, as well as Wax responding verbally aloud, perhaps due to normal human behaviour, but he did have the option of conversing entirely through his mind, as Harmony has both Ruin's and Preservations abilities so Wax could have just thought his responses to Harmony during their chat. In Paalm's situation, we know something was said to Paalm for her to reply the way she did but what if the entity speaking to her can only hear the reply if it was spoken aloud? It fits with her motive, she thinks that freeing Elendel from Harmony's touch is a good thing but it would also ruin the city completely. You could argue Elendel is a mix of Preservation and Ruin but it is more the former as Harmony expresses his surprise at how slowly their society is progressing (stagnation = too much Preservation). TL;DR - The entity is the excess Ruin that has perhaps become a Splinter -
I'm of the impression that the Set definitely want to create something with Hemalurgy for sure

Real-life "Soonie Pups" (Mistborn Era 2 Teddy Bears)
ParadoxicalZen replied to KidWayne's topic in Mistborn
The cuteness of the soonie pups knows no bounds. It will spread beyond the three realms and even the Cosmere! Shardworlds cry out in unison for sellers to shush and accept their monetary currencies. The cuteness of TenSoon will unite the Cosmere! ...and that's enough of that. The Cosmere has enough Deity Figures -
Visitors from Other Worlds (Possible other-series spoilers)
ParadoxicalZen replied to fyodor's topic in Mistborn
It doesn't help that the Broadsheet is in black and white (which i get why it is) which only narrows down the mystery. The colouring of the visitor's body is hinted at either so we can't know if the distinctive black/white/reddish tint of Parshendi was there -
Real-life "Soonie Pups" (Mistborn Era 2 Teddy Bears)
ParadoxicalZen replied to KidWayne's topic in Mistborn
I would like the reversable one, purely as a Mistwraith/Kandra plushie would be storming cute...like Starfire and Silky *_* So yes, my answer is "Shut up and storming take my broams already!" -
Whilst we might know vaguely the events surrounding Wax's return to Elendel, apparently Harmony only sent Paalm as a bodyguard and it was her mindset from TLR's reign that made her immerse herself in the role completely, ergo she eventually got too close despite Harmony's reluctance/disapproval. So i get Paalm's anger at Harmony but by the time he needed Wax to return, she was in too deep (sorta through her own fault) so Harmony was justified in his action to restrain her, Paalm's suicide to me seemed more like a last attempt to spit in Harmony's eye than to fully accept the consequences of her actions.

I thought the answer you got was vague

When two Elantrians have children...
ParadoxicalZen replied to kroen's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
I was just under the impression that that was it, as the immortality we've seen so far in other systems was rather tricksy Minor cosmere spoilers Although, as they're so altered and infused by the Dor, and the way Raoden was when the Dor tried to use him as a conduit, it could be that that is the reason. They're bodies are so suffused with the Dor that without it they become kind of hollow, like the Hoed. -
Wait...so that 'radioactive' spider, gamma bomb explosion, 'super-soldier' serum I was exposed won't give me powers? Storms...I don't feel too good

When two Elantrians have children...
ParadoxicalZen replied to kroen's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
I should think seeing the ones you love (family, friends etc.) constantly grow old and die whilst you're the pinnacle of vitality can be a bit of wear-and-tear on your existence. As for the original question, as far as we're aware the access to AonDor isn't genetic although the child of two Elantrians could have a higher chance of being selected for the Shaod. -
Good luck! You can check out the ultimate list of questions doc over in the Cosmere Theories topic I can offer a few; Are we getting a sketch of Urithiru for SA3? Can you define the Ars Arcanum Author's term Initiate?
-
I'm of this opinion as well. There's no guarantee he could recognise it due to it being a completely foreign thing to him as it could very well be an attempt to fuse both Investitures
-
I'm with Saze on this. I believe did the best he could with what knowledge he had available

Did Rashek ever try create an alloy/a new metal of Lerasium/Preservation and Atium/Ruin?
