damnation that must have cost you a pretty penny. Mulling over different ideas atm; awaken/landfall, ally, some sort of blue/green for kiora but I always have trouble trying to get that balance. Will definitely purchase Omnath for an elemental deck. Question; If you use Swell of Growth on Zada, Hedron Grinder, would that allow you to put more than the initial land on the field? EDIT: trying to build an Ally deck = frustrating as rust. far too many options

[Spoilers] Elantris Anniversary Reactions
ParadoxicalZen replied to Chaos's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
I don't mind the spoilers if you PM me. I'll be reading/buying the 10th anniversary ed come signing day anyway if possible -
Aye there is something fishy about it, but I can't quite decide on an intepretation. I'm not sure whether its either Hoid's acting and magic skills, an ability to manifest multiple personalities yet still be the same person or if it is something similar to reincarnation/avatar creation. It reminds me of a book i read a while back (I think adapted from the EVE online game) where an overarching character bio-engineered genetic clones of himself but each was designed to be vastly different in looks etc as he was the ultimate spy/corporation CEO etc. EDIT: spelling

Tips for asking questions at signings?
ParadoxicalZen replied to IBNobody's topic in Events and Signings
Drat, i'll avoid that one. I was thinking of the WoB which asks is Saze's old body was still around somewhere and the WoB it what in some kind of inbetween state. -
Storms, there sorta goes one of my theories I have no idea which questions i'm going to ask

Theory: Ruin and Preservation Investiture as Source of Feruchemy
ParadoxicalZen replied to Yata's topic in Mistborn
Haemalurgy wasn't created (or any other magic system in the Cosmere) by Ruin or other Shards, they were already present as an underlying system (methinks from Adonalsium's touch), they're just altered by the investiture of the current residing shard. Any attempts at asking if Haemalurgy requires/can use other planetary foci to steal investiture have been RAFO'd and as we've only seen Haemalurgy used on Scadrial presently, we cannot conclusively say it is an absolute necessity for metals to be used unless otherwise through WoB or book- 46 replies

It's also possible Bavadin might still be resisting his Shard's Intent after all this time (I seem to recall a WoB saying some holders were still but can't remember the location)

This makes me want SoS even more T.T

I wouldn't be able to tell the difference beyond the most prominent American accents (through movies etc.) but accents are quite noticeable in the UK, but it might be due to feeling a lot more condensed and where distance isn't as pronounced as your side.

Just read 1007. RUSTING STORM YOU CLIFFHANGER! -
I'm on the Regina hypetrain/fanclub/bandwagon all the way! If it is any consolation, I like to learn odd, useless skills; Card-throwing, the cup part from Pitch Perfect etc. etc.

What have the Heralds been up to?
ParadoxicalZen replied to Firehead13's topic in Stormlight Archive
Brandon did say that all of the Heralds have either been seen/alluded to/mentioned in WoK so take that as you will -
It's hard to speculate on properly as with so little info but there are a few things to consider; 1) There isn't a gurantee that the spike/piercing material necessarily has to be metal (as we've only seen Haemalurgy on Scadrial as far as we know). It is possible that on other planets, it might require that specific planetary focus (any attempts at answers have been RAFO'd) but it is possible that Atium could be used as the Universal skeleton spike so to speak (or whatever form it could take on other planets) 2) We can't necessarily assume that the bind points will be the same between magic systems (perhaps physical traits maybe) as each magic system produces the same effects in different ways, or that the spike has to go through a specific bind point for you to access the power (I was under the impression that so long as a body part was pierced by the spike, you could access the trait as demonstrated by the other guy Spook was dealing with in HoA. Oudeis, any clarification on this?) 3) I can see Brandon's reasoning as it has a wide, if not universal application across the Cosmere as you can access magic system theoretically Something just occurred to me; seeing as Wax's earring is part of a melted down spike, is it possible for a Haemalurgic spike to be melted down into something similar like TLR's bands and then have the pierce the skin like from TFE?

The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon
ParadoxicalZen replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I don't believe Haemalurgy itself is genetic, unless it is patching on a magic system that itself is inherently genetic a la Allomancy/Feruchemy (granted we've only seen it used on Scadrial, so far as we know. Might be a good question to ask) -

[Spoilers?] New Elantris Maps
ParadoxicalZen replied to Chaos's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
Off the top of my head (and from the Coppermind) the Jindoeese were originally part of the Rose Empire/resided in MaiPon but for some reason, they separated at an indeterminate time. I think Nazh's wording is quite interesting. If we assume 'minor SA spoilers' , with us knowing that Selish Shadesmar is dangerous to traverse, then it could also be possible he did the same here (that or the Ars Arcanum author just left him inside Fjordell or something, as they were distracted/more interested in the magic system) -
Sorry for the double post....again. Finally opened by box of boosters as a last gift to myself before my travels and storms am I happy. I got Kiora and Gideon among the extra turn mythic and the Elemental landfall counter one but after opening something seemed odd; there weren't any Eldrazi with any white CMC's at all. Anyone else liking BFZ at the moment?

Take into account that Hoid is a Lightweaving storyteller, and a rather talented one at that so acting out different personas will come easily to him. Factoring in his advanced age as well can also give himself a bit of an edge at reading and understanding different kinds of people, similarly to the way Wayne adapts to whatever hat he's wearing
