1. I think the general consensus is yes, but off the top of my head I don't know if it actually has been confirmed 2. Yeah, there's a topic on the various scripts of SA somewhere
-
As my sig says, a similar topic is covered in SG-1..without the chouta obvs. It is an interesting dilemma at that. This is the Doctor we're talking about, he has a hard time getting the Tardis to take him somewhere he doesn't want to go, let alone somewhere he does xD

comic Order of the Stick
ParadoxicalZen replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Wellll.......Elves are naturally Androgynous so either way, success! True, I was going to offer possible scenarios....but i haven't played a good table top game in so long -
comic Order of the Stick

Which member of the OotS are you most like/would likely be? What hilarious d20 1 roll would you like to see happen? -
I've yet to see it (i'll watch today) but i'm not that fussed about spoilers. I guessed as much would happen. I'm intrigued as to what Missy had planned after the zapping

comic Order of the Stick
ParadoxicalZen replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Agreed, no doubt it'll be some sort of aside/4th wall parody sorta thing During my re-read, I have come to accept that if I were in an adventuring party with my friends...I would either be the Elan of the group or V itself (also, they should do V parodying V for Vendetta when it comes to the IECC. -
I think the SA quote of "You're a very special kind of weird, Lopen" describes me quite well so dibs on being one the oddballs of the 17th Shard family
-
My guess is something like this; Elhokar's paranoia managed to get everyone believing that he was going to be assassinated, or that someone wanted him dead. This extravagant lie either attracted the (presumed) Cryptics to an extent where they considered him for possible Radiancy but were scared off by Kal and Syl or that they just didn't find him worthy enough.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
ParadoxicalZen replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
You know you're a Sanderfan when you're preparing questions for the Shadows of Self sigining and your question list is starting to reach 20+ You know you're a Sanderfan when you read another WoB and more questions pop in your head to add to the list...and i've done it again..... -
Tips for asking questions at signings?
ParadoxicalZen replied to IBNobody's topic in Events and Signings
I have about 15 questions already and i've barely even scratched the top most atom of the tip of the iceberg. This is going to be storming tricky to narrow down. Spoilered for size and minor cosmere spoilers Bolded ones are my main ones...but even now this is getting rusting ridiculous...must stop reading question provoking WoBs D: -
Ergo, dark humour
-
Should we do another compendium topic for questions?
-
1. It could be worse if we had no toes to go with no fingers 2. I'll gander later 3. Nope...espcially if it has a dash of dark humour and comedy

Top ten lists of authors.
ParadoxicalZen replied to Darkness Ascendant's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Not sure I can give an accurate listing but i'll give it a go; Number 1 is pretty static at the moment 1. Mr Sanderson ofc. 2. Brent Weeks 3. Neil Gaiman 4. Robert Jordan 5. Patrick Rothfuss 6. Robin Hobb 7. Marianne Curley 8. Trudi Canavan 9. Christopher Paolini 10. Phillip Pullman Honourable Mentions; Scott Card (for Ender's Game alone), Steven Erikson I would have mentioned Goodkind, but after reading an interview Q+A, he really didn't match my mental image and I'm really disappointed (I still value how thought provoking they are, I even have a tattoo I designed to embody the Law of Nine) -
Speculation: Possible flaw in Vorinism afterlife story?
ParadoxicalZen replied to polkinghornbd's topic in Stormlight Archive
IIIRC, one of the main theoies was that Braize was originally the Tranquiline Halls until Odium turfed everyone out and then Roshar became the middle battleground for everything, so this became twisted through history by the fallout of repeated Desolations...as THS said ^^ -
Fantasy Pet Peeve Discussion Thread
ParadoxicalZen replied to Blightsong's topic in General Discussion
I know i'm a little late but the below post is kind of making both internally and externally facepalm to the bottomless pit of Tartarus You're seriously screaming MRA right now *narrows eyes to suspicious squinty gaze* I would have said something (after realising I was several pages too late, cause i was really prickled at the comment) but thanks Feather for phrasing everything so much than I could in a far more reasonable way -

Just finished binge reading near enough start to current.....I MUST KNOW WHAT HAPPENS...COUNT DURKULA NEEDS A WHOOPIN' -
I like a few songs...but otherwise...meh as Slowswift so aptly said. I get the impact and influence on music's culture but I just find em storming dull. Even odder as I'm a Brit.

I think they probably can, providing they don't have any stormlight in them. I guess as soon as they breathe in any, it would automatically be purged from them. (woo no hangover!)

Renarins Radiant Abilities
ParadoxicalZen replied to TwelfthOfSnackTime's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think it's safe to say Renarin has at least intoned/said the First Oath (i'm uncertain if they can use Surges before that, but my headcanon is they can't and most likely can only use stormlight for the bonuses and not for fueling the Surges). I think it could be possible that he may just not understand his Surges as well as he could, as a result of his knowcked self-esteem/confidence which could easily be rectified come SA3. -
I reckon Shards should be akin to planeswalker/God card hybrids Saze could be something that requires you to do one positive and then one negative action among other things Brandon actually gave a somewhat example of Hoid. From two different WoBs on Theoryland, Hoid would either be a 4-6 UUU or 2 WUBRG (akin to Reaper King). I could see either working out for him given his varied expertise but I'd probably say he's more Blue than anything. I could see a Worldhopper edition of Planechase, where each card gets benefits/disadvantages depending on which Shardworld they were on.

Actually, Vin did become a Sliver, she just didn't gain any expansion as she gave up the power instead of using it probably. I've found a WoB/Mistborn annotation that may help shed some light. Note Brandon uses flawless to describe the memory, so it is possible that compounding just increases the quality of the memory to such a point that it could have happened a moment ago or perhaps even to an eidetic level

The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon
ParadoxicalZen replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Can Saze replenish the Haemalurgic charge of a spike (at least to the original charge level the spike had)
