I think that Aradel is not human. I think that he is either a kandra or is something else. 1. Aradel showed up after being away for 10 years, conveniently after Captain Brettin "retired". TenSoon was impersonating Brettin, according to WoB. 2. In his chat with Wax, Harmony admitted he "worked hard to maneuver Marasi into a position where she could do good in this city." My theory is that Harmony instructed a kandra to impersonate Aradel, and then Aradel was in a position hire Marasi on as his assistant. 3. Aradel routinely gulped steaming cups of tea, and the heat didn't scald him. The other constables figured that he had no tastebuds. You'd have to have NO feeling of pain in order to chug scalding liquids. (Can kandra be scalded?) If he were a kandra, he would have to be pretty sneaky, fooling Milan at the end of SoS. That's one reason why I think he may not be a kandra but something else.

So... I have a question I plan on asking Brandon, but I wanted to hear about it from all of you first. Brandon loves to name things after elements in his worlds. Names have meanings. It makes me wonder about "Nahel" from the "Nahel bond". A bond between a spren and a human isn't just any bond, it's a Nahel bond. Do you think Nahel was a person, place, or thing?

Great write-up. Two questions: 1. Does the book advance the cosmere in any way, or is still fairly Scadrial-centric like AoL? 2. Did your ARC come with a new Ars Arcanum, or are we still using AoL's?

I plan to attend the SoS signing in Houston. This will be my first signing. I've come up with a good Cosmere question to ask, but I am not sure what the protocol is for asking. Do I just ask when it is my turn for a signing, or is there a general Q/A session? Does anyone have any tips?
