  1. Wow, I’m sick for a day, and come back to find day one has 105 posts? Yikes. I’ll try to catch up and post more, and make a vote. I don’t want to throw out even a poke vote without reading the thread, though of course I don’t want miss it either. I’ll be reading for a bit on my phone I guess, can’t sit at my computer for now. Not planning any elaborate strategy this game so far. I might hand out suggestions or info about me in PMs, once I’ve decided who is somewhat trustworthy, but I don’t plan on sharing anything about myself or any abilities I have (if any) via the thread, at least not until maybe very late if it’s helpful then. If I learn info about others, I will of course make the decision then about whether it’s good info to share or not. Edit to avoid double posting: @Matrim's Dice, I’m here, I’m not a good vote target, and while I appreciate a good poke vote, perhaps you can move it elsewhere now? As for my own vote, that quick vote with seemingly good at first glance but then questionable reasoning by Quinn makes me wonder. This is only a first vote and not thoroughly thought through (Holy Alliteration, Batman!) so don’t be offended, but it’s also the best I’ve got so far (I’ve read the whole thread now but haven’t really done a ton of analysis, just going by gut for now). Also, this pleases me. (Sorry about now double-posting, but on mobile I can’t put this into an edited post that I know of.)
  2. Quintus was surprised to find himself alive yet again, though perhaps he shouldn’t have been. It was just that, well, it had been so long since he’d been resurrected, and this time he didn’t even see anyone nearby who could have brought him back. Not to mention, this time he was already firmly in the Physical Realm, and in an unknown region of an unknown planet, so far. No matter, he would get his bearings soon enough. At least the spike was gone. That had been an uncomfortable experience, to say the least.
  3. Ugh, I hate making difficult choices on voting. Can someone make up a current vote count, or did I miss one? Illwei is garnering votes, Gears thinks we can’t get enough votes to get them, and I’m not sure who else (Tani has a vote, right?). I’m on mobile and working and can’t put this together right now. In some situations, I’d say sure, vote me out and use the information, but this is do or die, and I’m a Hastings Host, so I don’t want to let that happen (though I think I only have one vote currently anyways). I’ll probably add to the Illwei vote I guess, but I don’t have strong enough suspicions to be sure. Not committing to a vote just yet, but I will change my vote if not enough people are considering Gears, as we certainly can’t risk another tie.
  4. Well, that didn't work out. Why was a tie left in place? Who caused the tie? (reads) Based on the thread, Quinn, though I can't tell what order the votes are placed in in the official write up (it may be intentionally not in order). That's unfortunate, since they're cleared by being dead. Doesn't help us figure out much. Gears, Tani, me, Illwei, xino, Bridge, and Pizza, and probably 3 Elims within that group, this doesn't look good. And I know some people might be suspicious of me still after some of the talk I saw last cycle (can't really blame you, but I assure it's only been mistakes of truly trying to solve this, not intentionally sabotaging the game). The fact that active players were killed first is notable, suggesting the Elims targeted them intentionally, a bad play from a meta-standpoint (simply because it leads to less fun games) but often a productive one, especially if the Elims like being less active themselves for various reasons. Unfortunately, there's also less to go on because those players haven't been talking as much. Gears has posted some, Tani is probably the most active of those with Illwei a little behind, and Bridge and Pizza are both fairly quiet so far despite Bridge having suspicion on them (unless I'm misremembering, which is entirely possible, I didn't reread to come up with that list, just off the top of my head). I'll have to check back, but I'm worried about Tani and Illwei being probably the most active left, and of course about those whom I haven't been able to read much from at all. I realize that same reason may make you suspicious of me, but we can't afford any more mistakes as we're at the breaking point. Without catching an Elim this cycle, we have lost, unless there's only 2, which is unlikely. Gears, why did you keep your vote on Bridge? I thought the reasoning that they were likely village seemed solid, but you never changed your vote. Bridge murdering their PM buddy doesn't make a ton of sense since it would deprive them of that connection, but more importantly, it would have helped avoid a tie vote since yours was the only one that didn't go to one of the top suspicions.
  5. Sorry about that. It was meant to be mildly hostile, not weirdly hostile. Basically, I have little to go on, and strategy suggestions have often gone wrong in games I’ve played before. I prefer keeping my cards close to my chest. I did indeed miss that Archer suggested that first, which does shift my suspicions somewhat, though I remain suspicious of you to a degree (then again, I remain suspicious of just about everyone in these games, as everyone should, with only slightly less suspicion of some people after a while). I’m gonna get on my computer at some point here and try to work through this better than I can on mobile, but due to the strategy discussion I feel most confident voting for Archer at this point. I’ll put that in via my GM PM now too, btw.
  6. I have no intention of sharing who I’m PMing with, if anyone indeed. I don’t think the Elims knowing that helps us, and I’m suspicious of the suggestion that we share it. Sorry, @Quintessential, but I don’t like that at all. I’m not confirming I’ll vote for you yet, but it’s a possibility. Also, sorry, I missed rollover was coming up so soon and didn’t figure out who to vote for in time. Probably would have been Kings, but I had some other suspicions forming too. I’ll share them in a bit, this cycle definitely.
  7. Separating this out so it doesn’t get too confusing to read multiple edits. Remart looked around. Trollten had just been removed from the ball, an odd occurrence but certainly somewhat deserved based on his behavior. Those pushing for his removal vocally could be forgiven, due to the disturbance he’d caused, but he’d keep an eye on them anyways. Where had Linaril disappeared to, though? She should have returned by now. Philico seemed to have been pushing to have her removed at one point, had he done something about her or was it coincidence? Remart checked the door she’d left through…it was locked now, and he didn’t have the key so there was nothing more to do there. He noted her disappearance and strolled casually back into the crowds, looking for a friendly group of nobles to join a discussion with. Or, that is, not so unfriendly. Nobles were rarely friendly, and always dangerous. Even at a ball.
  8. Remart groaned. He’d slept through another day? Oh well, time to figure out what was going on. (Sorry, missed day 1, I’ll catch up and participate!) Edit since no one has posted yet since I said that and I don’t want to double post: I like the discussion surrounding distancing and whether Elims bussed anyone, I have a history of bussing teammates, so it intrigues me to figure out if the current team of Elims would do so as well. I do think that Matrim is less suspicious to me than Kings of the two top candidates right now, but I’m going to try to put more time into reading day 1 to see if anyone else stands out. I fully intend to make my allegiance able to be determined without having to say it definitively, but of course I know that will take more posting from me. I’ll try to make at least 2-3 posts per cycle so long as I survive, more if I can (and my next one will be RP).
  9. So…. I haven't played in a very long time. I think it's time to return for at least one simple-ish game, and I like the anonymous voting idea. I'll jump in, bringing back Remart, my one-legged sarcastic less-overweight-than-he-once-was man. I'm going to double check my notes, but despite it not normally being available in this time period, he is I believe a Subsumer and has managed to get ahold of a bar of Bendalloy that he keeps in his peg leg, up against and partially in his skin. Edit: Rust and Ruin, it’s been a year and a half! I both thought it was less time and figured it’d have been longer.
  10. No need to insult. Keep this forum clean and happy.
  11. Ooh, I hadn't seen one. That would suggest they work in some form through the Spiritual Realm perhaps? Or just that Cognitive Connection can be instantaneous. Either way, interesting possibilities (though not necessarily tied to the speed of light or aiding in finding it).
  12. Are they instantaneous, though? We don't really know for sure. It's likely and entirely possible there's a delay, which simply wouldn't matter to the user. In fact, there's always a delay before the other person starts writing, though of course we can usually attribute that to them reading and maybe changing a sheet of paper.

More specifically, it's possible Odium didn't intentionally create the Unmade. My personal head-canon is that the Unmade are at least part of what is trapping Odium; that he somehow got stuck in the Roshar system long enough some of his power splintered off through a mechanism he couldn't control and became the Unmade. They may have had some direction from him once he realized what was happening, and of course there's some amount of his Intent that drives them (they're all related to hatred, Odium, in some way, though somewhat tangentially in some cases), but he possibly didn't intend for them to exist in the first place.
  14. That was awesome! I think we could have won a round earlier if I hadn't dropped the ball early in the game (Night 2 I think) and failed to submit my Return order. Still, I'm proud of our team, and though I don't remember who was saying what in the doc, I got very good instructions along the way when I couldn't keep up and we pretty much just slammed through our win condition once I got into the swing of it. Despite our wincon depending entirely on my actions, we won specifically because of the other members of the team. I just did what I was told mostly.
  15. Can't pass this one up. I'll do my level best to remain consistently active! No player name yet, because, well, anonymous. Don't care if people know I'm playing, but no promises about whether you'll be able to identify me from my posts or not.
  16. I’ve got a few minutes to defend myself, but not much to go on. It looks like the main points are my activity level (which is what it is, but I don’t think would have made my a good conversion target), and my somewhat opposition to Araris? Umm, ok. I was mostly following Aman’s lead there. I don’t have strong legitimate suspicion, but who would the Seer have wanted to convert? Obviously strong roles if they could, but I’m guessing they didn’t know many roles if any. So I’d have expected them to go after the strongest players who didn’t already have suspicion on them. I don’t have time to run that list, but someone look at it from that perspective please.
  17. I always support inactivity filters, my own low activity level notwithstanding.
