    Nonsense. Claiming village is and should be encouraged when needed (obviously not randomly, since that just makes you seem like you're making a point of it when it's not needed). It's never nonsensical to claim village. It just can be at the wrong time. There's never a good time to claim Elim except if you're already confident of winning and outing your alignment is not a problem (I did that my first ever game here, it was fun). I find this whole discussion frustrating because people are basically saying because Gears does this regularly, they can write it off. That wasn't the case when he started. It isn't the case for other people. Why are we treating Gears differently from other players?

    I doubt they’re both Elims, with them caveat that if Quinn ends up being lying about her role, he could be providing cover. That seems unlikely, though.

    First, I’m not familiar with Gears and this trend, though of course it’s been mentioned now several times, but I have caught Elims in previous games (and IRL Mafia games) with similar admissions, so to a degree I don’t care if they’ve made it a play style. In fact, it’s a style I find problematic and would prefer to discourage. There’s nothing opportunistic about that. Edit: it comes very close to gamethrowing, in my opinion.

    I’m still stuck on Gears from before, so I’m totally on board with this. Forcing someone to reveal their role is never good anyways.

    I’ll watch Szeth. I don’t usually like public coordination of efforts, but this seems like as good a time as any.

    No surprise there. What do we think? Is Szeth still a viable teammate to Araris/Vonne or does this assist our analysis? I can’t claim to have done a ton of analysis mostly, I’m going off gut and other’s logic.

    By the way, I don’t know if I should do this, but I’m gonna fess up to the coded message. It wasn’t meant to break any rules; that rule was new while I was gone and I don’t know it had been added. I won’t be sharing a key with anyone (I don’t have one anyways) and anyone could theoretically decode it but I’d suggest just ignoring it and continuing as if I hadn’t unintentionally broken a rule.

    ...did you not read my post? *sigh* here, I'll reiterate: Assuming the elims didn't forget and didn't attack TUO (both of which are relatively unlikely scenarios imo), the only way there was no NK is if either the elims targeted someone who was thrown in the Brig or the elim submitting the kill was thrown in the Brig. As clarified by the GMs, no one would have had an Aviar when the kill took place, so that form of protection isn't a possibility here. I read it. I just wanted to know if anyone else had thoughts. Sometimes I miss things in rules, you could have too.

    Tied deaths are fun sometimes, but generally they worry me. Too easy for the Elims to manipulate the situation into speeding up the end con, especially since here it could result in them getting the villages before the Agent can improve enough parts, potentially. I would suggest any remaining Engineers submit repair orders, though if there’s a Elim Engineer I can assume they might not decide to do that one. We’ll see. I’ll vote later. Not sure who I really find sis yet. Want to hear more theories on the survival of the Elim target assuming they didn’t forget to submit the kill (I can’t see any that make sense to me unless they went after the current vote leader which would be nonsensical).

    My gut tells me it’s Szeth but Quinn is devious sometimes so I’m worried about my gut trust on her currently.

    Why would you expect only one Engineer though? I thought earlier we were seeing suggestions of 2-4 of each role essentially.

    Or a few years ago. IIRC we did it or tried in a game a long time ago. I can’t remember the outcome right now. Edit: and @Quintessential, you must have stalked my Facebook or something. How did you get my age?

    Well, that’s interesting and unexpected. I scanned Vonne last night (picked randomly) and they only scanned someone else, so they must have been killed by a crossbow rather than Shades, if I understand the mechanism correctly. Let’s finish off Araris and go from there, but this definitely could change my thinking on the team…

    I think I’d go for the Agent too. I have a visceral reaction to the idea of the Elims winning even if I don’t get to be on the winning team. Hasn’t it already started to?

    Well hello there, this should be an interesting game! I have to reread the rules since there’s so much there, but I’m going to start out with a poke vote on @Sart since they haven’t joined in yet. Hey Sart, having too much fun in the Elim doc to join the thread?

    I just wanted to report back that for now I’m planning on voting Szeth next cycle if I survive and Araris doesn’t. I find the previous arguments compelling enough that the Dannex situation changes anything, and it feels like Szeth is really trying to distance from Dannex anyways.
