Findecano rose early that morn. Unsettling thoughts had given way to dreams, a rare thing for an elf, and one always meant to be heeded. In secret, he stole over to where he knew his cousin slept, disguised cleverly to avoid his uncle's wrath. "Legolas, rise. Evil is afoot, I fear." There was no sound. He put a hand on his cousin's shoulder and rolled him over lightly, already surprised and fearful since the elf should have awoken immediately. A song burst forth from his mouth, mournful and strained, as he beheld the dagger in the Prince of Greenwood's chest, the symbol of Mordor etched into the hilt. The fell language was beyond Findecano's skill to read, but he needed not understand it's wording. Evil had come. ——————— Fifth Scholar has died. They were the Prince of Greenwood. The group stumbled slowly out of Mirkwood, Fade still covered in assorted spider innards and cursing on occasion. Findecano waved them politely over to a small knoll with an overhanging rock nearby. "I have rested here many a night on my journeys previously. It will serve us well. Tomorrow we will ride for Imladris, and pray we see no more of the fey races." Some of the group set straight to making camp, while others like the mad Zunn simply stared around. "Funky elbow. Chocolate muskrat." Legless downed the rest of a flask and started briefly before falling into muttering. Bob the Hobbit had been set to carrying him most recently, and was obviously none too thrilled with the assignment. "If any is in need of entertainment, I would be willing to sing us a song of my people. Pray tell, though, where have Suomynona and Dorder disappeared to?" Those who were still somewhat conscious sat up and took notice. Neither of the two was anywhere to be seen, nor could anyone remember them emerging from the forest. With growing horror, Findecano recalled them both near the stream as the arguments had begun about which of the two was less involved in the journey. He spun on the group. "Thus is the result of your bickering? Have we lost two of our companions so soon in our journey, not yet even out of our own lands? Alas, that I had been more attenti…" He broke off his waxing poetical as two voices carried out of the woods. "I say, that is a fine looking rabbit indeed!" "Your ferret, or fox, or whatever that is, looks better to me." The two missing individuals glanced up at everyone staring at them, glanced at each other and then back at the group and shrugged. "Dinner?" ———————————————————————————————————————————— I failed to define what would happen in the case of a tie, so I decided to simply allow it to result in a no lynch. Don't let it happen again, though. No one has died. The captain of the guards of Greenwood nodded in respect to Gandalf, unable to express his sorrow at his King's treatment of the wizard and his plea, but clearly sympathetic. Gandalf turned and huffed slightly, letting his anger at the monarch pass from him. Smiling once again, he passed his gaze across the group, his face sobering as he realized that some of them may not be able to return once this quest was over. "I must let you begin your journey alone," he began. Some mutters began among the group, but were quickly squashed. "I must consult with Saruman the Wise on this matter, and I fear that the spies of Morder may already be aware of our mission. I will send aid where I can, however." He smiled. "Sometimes it is in the smallest of decisions that the course of the ages may be determined. Watch out for one another, and head south. I will meet you when I am able. In the meantime, I have arranged for a guide." A tall elf, golden haired and lithe, stepped from the forest. "Here against his father's wishes is another Prince of Greenwood, Findecano, son of Thranduil. None know yet of his coming, except now the sixteen gathered here. He will take you on the road to the south and protect you in your quest as needed." Findecano surveyed the group, his keen eyes taking in those among the travelers and seeming to know their very thoughts. "We will ride first for Imladris, known to many of you as Rivendell. There, an old friend of mine wants to meet you, and he will likely ride with us for a time. Their orders were clear, and their daggers were sharp. I had an evil thought. What if you could use this to cause that person to target a specific person with their action, whatever it might be? Talk about chaos...

Just so everyone knows, the timer for signups currently is running through Sunday at 3PM EST, a fairly easy time for me to plan on getting this game started. I'm willing to fudge that time a bit, but rollovers will most likely be at 8PM EST, with the write-ups and new cycles coming within an hour or so. I may change that, but right now that feels like the best time for me.

My apologies! I'm not doing very well so far, am I. Sorry, Red Team, I didn't pay close attention, but I'll do better next time!
