Long Game 44: Shadows of Elantris Redux
Jondesu replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Oh, I’m sure I will. @Herowannabe, yeah, I could be a pinch hitter if you’d like. More likely to actually do that than participate in a spec doc anyways.- 1185 replies

Long Game 44: Shadows of Elantris Redux

Unfortunately, I need a break from SE for a short time (just one or two LGs probably, and I might even be swayed back earlier than intended), so I'll sit this one out. I'm sure I'll read it as it goes, though. I'll take a spec doc link, though I don't promise to actually be active there either.- 1185 replies

I've had several offers, and have considered them carefully. Chouta seems to be a popular bargaining chip, unsurprisingly. At this point, I'll cast my vote on Drought. I gotta give credit where credit is due, and the side that helped me the most is definitely a good side to help in return, especially if I want to be seen as a potential ally in future games.
-
*hiccup* Yup, I got my win. I'm honestly up for helping either team win, and at this point there's no reason for either team to try and kill me. Feel free to contact me and make offers of any kind to win my support (including totally made-up and ridiculous offers ).
-
*hiccups* I'm…I'mma vote for Steeldancer. Cuz. I said so. Oh gosh, I'm turning into @STINK.
-
As to the questions from before, so far as I’ve been told, there are no further effects to the hiccuping disease. Also, as a neutral, while I don’t mind working with the village (such as it may be with a blackout game, and one run by Len no less), I’m open to working with others as well. I have no special abilities to use to help anyone, but I also promise that if anyone contacts me and reveals their identity, I will not reveal it to anyone else, period.
-
Everyone who has contracted the hiccuping disease will pass it on to anyone who places a vote on them. It’s a chain reaction. In a couple cycles, barring inactives or people who don’t choose to vote, it’ll spread pretty effectively.

Long Game 43: Under the Banner of Adonalsium

Sorry to see the votes on me, though honestly I can understand the circumstantial evidence. I haven’t been playing as actively as I’d like, and while I stated upfront I wouldn’t be doing analysis like I have in the past, I know my different play style still throws people somewhat, plus I am kinda trying to fly under the radar somewhat, mostly to avoid exactly this situation of needing to defend myself when I don’t really have anything to offer. I don’t know who Ruin is, I don’t have any special abilities right now, no Shard or Investiture, but I also don’t want to see a lynch wasted on me, unless everyone is super convinced they’ll get useful information if I’m not Ruin. I don’t think any of the reasoning I’m seeing is very convincing of that point, though, so I’d encourage those voting on me to consider whether my death will actually tell you anything that Eternum or one of the other candidates deaths wouldn’t. -
My win con is just for everyone still alive to have the hiccuping disease. I don’t know if voting on me, then switching your vote, causes you to catch it; I didn’t ask. I should have. Perhaps I could have a few volunteers? Also, I can achieve that even after I’m dead, so I wouldn’t care if I’m lynched, though of course it won’t help the village either and I certainly enjoy still being around.

Bold play, Eternum, the "go ahead and Lynch me" card. It's a complete IKYK situation at this point, but I know it's more likely to be you than me (either as Khriss, Hoid, or Ruin, or some combination), so I'll go ahead and vote on you. If all we do is get you a break since you can't pay attention, that's not the worst thing, though it's not best either. -
That’s because you voted on me. My win con is likely to be achieved now, fortunately, as long as the game doesn’t end suddenly.

I’ll go ahead and state that I’m not Ruin. I said this in the Taldain doc, but I’ve basically been lazy and didn’t want to deal with a world doc, and I was hoping to still get a charge of Investiture, which failed each time, and now is out of the picture. I was kicked out when Ruin destroyed Silverlight and ended up on Taldain. -

I dunno, from what we've guessed about Autonomy so far, I can see that being a nasty one, potentially. Between adding votes and roleblocking, plus a new win condition, I would be concerned about an Autonomy Vessel. Not enough to lynch them without good reason, but definitely just as worried as I would be about Odium or Ruin, actually. -
@Steeldancer, I’m just calling it like I see it.
-
Any information given out freely is information that the Elims don't have to gather, as STINK said (wait, did I just agree with STINK?). But sure, go ahead. Anyways, I'm gonna cast my vote on Steeldancer. A fake role-claim, or one that is true but leaves out an Elim alignment, is a good way to get people to set aside suspicions for a little while, but I'm not buying it.
-
I just want to note, this isn’t necessarily the case. It could be just a troll to make us think there’s a vote manip. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is, but the existence of a role immune to vote manip doesn’t guarantee a vote manip role exists. Edit: also, I have no intention of claiming in the thread. Not a good idea no matter how “useless” you think your role is.
-
Ironic. She could protect others from death, but in the end, she could not save herself. Anyways. Interesting to know more about some of the roles and alignments. Wonder how many escaped inmates, or players aligned with them, there are. And yeah, to all the questions from last cycle, I don’t really care to answer them. My reasons are my own.

@Amanuensis, Hero was a semi-random choice as a poke vote. No particular reason, but if I’m going to try a poke vote, I wanted it to have more to it than just “Are you here?”

Sorry, I had posted in the other game and read this one, and didn't realize I hadn't posted here. I definitely agree that Hemalurgic Headshot is acting off, for them, while I don't get an odd feel from Drought, and Arinian might be a candidate, but I'd rather go for HH first. If I get a chance, maybe I'll post later too, though it might just be RP. -
Not necessarily true. Sometimes a neutral role can have a goal that can make the village's job more difficult, like needing to kill specific players or cause a tie in the end. I've seen both types. Oops. I was on mobile, so I blame that. (Not really, just a goof.) Hero replied, so I would be retracting my vote if I had placed it.
-
I’ll announce that I’m here. Oh, and despite sometimes not liking this kind of thing, I’ll place a poke vote on @Herowannabe. Not only do I want to see you post (not that I’m too worried about your activity), but I want to know: do you have a role with a specific win condition, and if so, would it conflict with the village win condition as far as you know?

You missed Pyro’s (probably irrelevant) vote on The Sand Lord. I know people are already thinking I’m playing it safe, but I’m going to openly bandwagon on Pyro because I really want to learn the truth now, and I don’t know how much risk there is right now of vote manipulation preventing this lynch from going through. -

I've been playing almost exclusively on mobile so far, Rand, meaning I couldn't easily go back and look through posts as I posted, and my memory (especially my very short term memory, oddly) can be weird, so yeah, I had legitimately forgotten. I'll 'fess up to trying to take a charge from Preservation last night, which led to it being released, but I'm happy to see Shards released and hopefully some fun will follow. -

For the record, when I was advocating no lynch due to the odds, I still had two Elims in my mind, forgetting they’d had time for conversions. I do suspect one of them might have held off, if not both, but it’s impossible to say for sure, so it wasn’t as good of a reason as I thought. I wasn’t awake to read and respond to the massive number of posts that happened afterwards, though. And Stick, I appreciate you remembering that. ‘Twas certainly unfortunate, and has affected how I decide on a lynch target when there’s simply bad or different logic.
