Sticking with my vote on JUQ from last cycle, for the same reason, especially since Elbereth was village (Explorer).

[AU Spoilers] Bavadin, Autonomy, and new info

Thanks, that's very interesting! Definitely opens up possibilities for why she'd be working with Odium, though it could be completely unrelated to their genders. -
[AU Spoilers] Bavadin, Autonomy, and new info
Jondesu replied to FirstSelector's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I was pretty sure Bavadin was male. Is there something in there indicating otherwise? -
Maybe the fact that it turned it into a bandwagon, even though it wasn't really there before? I agree that it comes across as really suspicious, not really providing reasoning but throwing in a vote on someone who already had a couple is an easy way to try to fly under the radar. That's the most suspicious thing I've seen this cycle so far, so my vote goes on JUQ.

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Jondesu replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Rae, it was fairly clear that a D1 lynch was more likely to catch a villager by far, because of the unusual ratios this game. There are 2 Elims out of 35 players (at the time), which was pointed out to be abysmal odds trying to lynch someone. Discussion is good, but to act like it's absurd that I didn't like a D1 lynch in this game is very weird to me.- 980 replies

I'm pretty sure they kept them, and the weaknesses disappeared (or, well, weakened significantly, it seems there was still something to them). Hurt Fortuity, Heal Firefight 1. Steelheart—6 3. Firefight—13 4. Murkwood—4 5. Limelight—6 6. Conflux—8 8. Fortuity—0 (Dead) 9. Obliteration—4 10. Regalia—9

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Jondesu replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'm not, there's nothing to go on yet. You and Rae voted on phattemer, but I can't fault you for that, it seemed like a fairly straightforward lynch of an inactive (I didn't really want to do that this game, but it only took two of you to disagree and make it happen). That result does highlight the reasoning behind not doing a lynch first cycle in this game, since we just got rid of an inactive, but didn't really lead ourselves to an Elim. Anyone not exploring? I'm planning to explore again (but will not be revealing what I find, if anything, except perhaps to claim if I find one of the omens, so we can keep track).- 980 replies

@VirtuousTraveller, I haven't read Arcanum Unbounded yet (but decided I wouldn't be worried about spoilers), so if that's an accurate summary (and Khriss is right), that really changes my own ideas of Sel's magic. I was already in agreement at least largely with this theory, but I really like it now.

Lol, I never considered that. I do dislike bandwagons overall, especially without strong reasons, and while I'm keeping my eye on Elbereth, I'm not convinced. I also don't really see a bandwagon forming on her, though, although it could turn into that. I think we have two players with two votes on them each, plus a couple with one? Here's my count: Polking (1): Lopen Doc (0): Elbereth, Wonko Ecth (1): Doc Magestar (1): Alvron Elbereth (2): Nyali, Lopen STINK (2): Ecth, Dani Does that look right to everyone else? Also, RP time! Third of the Storm looked around as they continued to trudge through the jungle. He'd chosen to mostly stand watch instead of trying to blaze the trail, which was a safer role to play. It also let him observe the group and see the tension building. None of these people trusted each other, it seemed, and they all seemed to have different goals of their own. Third was no different, of course; he trusted no one, and he had his own purpose for being here himself. His purpose was just simple: he wanted the money. He was being paid, so he'd keep himself alive and as much of the group as he could, and he'd go home with more money in his pocket than he'd started with. It was simple. His life had been characterized by that kind of simplicity. His slightly unusual name came from the fact that he was born in the middle of a three day storm, and no one had known whether it was morning, evening, midday, or the middle of the night. Naming him of the Storm was the best his parents had been able to do. He'd spent his life simply doing what came next; never much planning for the future or worrying about what might happen. He just was, and the storm could rage around him or calm weather would come, but he'd simply continue being.

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Jondesu replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ignore this for now, posted my RP in the wrong thread. I'll update this with RP in a minute. Quintus groaned as he turned around to see yet another wall and doorway having changed. They never moved while he was looking, but he didn't think to bring a mirror with him to try and catch changes while he was looking away. Maybe he'd find one as he moved through the house. The wax drippings that formed the "blood letters" had been strange, certainly, but Quintus had seen plenty of odd things in his time as a Worldsinger. He'd been more interested in the reactions of the others in the house with him. Some had been worried, of course, but others had quickly turned analytical. Those were people he'd need to watch out for, since they were likely to try to find many of the same things he was searching for (not that he knew what he might find, but he'd know when he found it). Then there were a few people that didn't seem surprised at all. Quintus was beginning to suspect that not all of the people in the house were there simply for the house itself. He'd have to watch himself, since there likely would be some who wouldn't mind at all leaving some bodies behind them. He downed a vial of Bronze and Steel (he still didn't understand how his master had given him these abilities, but he wasn't about to complain) and set them both on a low burn to alert him of any sudden movements, or other uses of magic.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Jondesu replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Wow, this is becoming too much to process and keep up with. Doc, I honestly just wanted defense from you considering you did seem out of character, and since I couldn't remember if I had one or two votes against me, I wanted to lodge a vote on someone who had one already (I thought? Maybe I was wrong), so that I wouldn't die myself. After all, I'm about 85% sure I can trust myself. I am still in favor of letting this be a no lynch day, and I can't remember, but did I place that vote before I started arguing that way? I think I honestly forgot that I had voted for you until you quoted it. Glad you did so I could retract it. I'm gonna have to settle down a bit and probably just do at most another RP post, because the discussion is getting so carried away here.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Jondesu replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Does someone want to provide a vote status/count? I'm on mobile so it'd be tough, but I don't actually know if anyone has more than one vote right now. Wyrm, what happens if there's a tie? (Probably in the rules, but I don't remember.)- 980 replies

Except the Mythbusters proved that actually works (because it's not a closed system, mostly).

Given what we know and what has been speculated, I'd say it's very possible that after Honor's Shattering, the weather patterns could have drastically changed. The high storms may contain a lot more Stormlight, or simply be fed more quickly, or the Stormfather may be spurred to bringing them more often after he merged with Tanavast's Cognitive Shadow.

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Jondesu replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Umm, what? I'm ok with day 1 lynches (though I still feel the logic is shaky) in normal games, but this game is anything but normal. The chances of lynching an Elim are crazy low compared to a typical game, and there's not going to be a reaction from the Elims even if we do get lucky and target one, because it would be too dangerous for them. This has all been spelled out multiple times, and I wouldn't fight against a lynch if I was Elim, I'd just sit it out.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Jondesu replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Considering those odds and the discussion so far, I'm in favor of going D1 without a lynch at all. I don't see any indications that anyone is going to have any way of identifying an Elim (which we knew would almost certainly be the case), and it doesn't really hurt us yet to avoid a very likely village lynch instead of waiting till next cycle at least.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Jondesu replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Exactly my thinking, Haelbarde. That's part of why I post a lot at the beginning, and then I might not as much later on sometimes (though I haven't done enough games to really have a set pattern yet, that's just my expectation from what I've seen so far). @phattemer, we mentioned that you were inactive, but no one actually summoned you yet, and I'd like to hear from you since we haven't yet. You haven't said anything at all since signing up, which isn't specifically suspicious since you weren't an Elim at the time, but we also don't know anything about you yet either. Do you have any strategies you're planning, did you find anything last night, etc? In fact, did you explore, or did you resist the temptation?- 980 replies

Lol, I get it, Lopen. I wish I was lucky enough to pull off being an Elim that often, but alas, I'm plain vanilla this game. El, I don't really know what else to say except to point out that I am active and encouraging discussion. Just not with poke votes.

[All Spoilers] Brandon Can't Save Roshar as an Author
Jondesu replied to teknopathetic's topic in Cosmere Discussion
That doesn't mean that they're magically evil. We don't even know what would happen to them, if anything, if the splintering was undone. -

Jondesu replied to teknopathetic's topic in Cosmere Discussion
To be fair, I'm not sure that we know whether Sel's magic was distinctly regional prior to the splintering of D&D; I tend to think it was, even if it was different. The Skaze aren't necessarily causing harm to anything except as bad guys (so no more than the Fjordell), so I'm not sure why they'd be an issue. I expect there are a number of people who would like to pick up one or both of those Shards if they could, and unsplinter them, but that would be borne from a desire for power for most of them, and for some a desire to do good. The planet's magic doesn't seem broken to me, though, now that Elantris is fixed especially.
