  1. Sorry you feel that way (and I have seen you say that). I just have to say, I think you're getting depressed about that too early; Adolin seems to be gaining momentum with Brandon and I think he will be more fleshed out and get more screen time as time goes along, but I definitely understand. Good luck, my friend!
  2. Heal Honor, Hurt Preservation 3. Preservation: 25 6.Honor: 4
  3. I strongly disagree with this, due largely to reasons that others have already stated (Adolin cares deeply about his family, he isn't envious or jumping at power). However, my main reason for posting is to summon @maxal, if he chooses to defend his favored character.
  4. I posted this idea in the WoB thread too, but this is a more appropriate place for the discussion. I feel as though Hoid has long possessed some means of changing or rewriting his own Spiritweb (soul), perhaps almost innate. I say almost because in the Liar of Partinel sample chapters, he doesn't seem to have anything like that, but I suspect he had it before the Shattering, or just after. It's even been speculated that he has or is a splinter of Adolnasium, not a Shard, but containing some portion of his power, which is a possibility, though I think a bit far-fetched. We know he acquired a means of doing that in the Mistborn series (the Lerasium bead), but my suspicion is that he either got that for an entirely different purpose, or to study it to understand how it rewrites the Spiritweb to link a person to Preservation, and perhaps even to understand his own ability better. Obviously he'd already been able to stay alive/young for a long time prior to that, via whatever method, and I suspect he is literally able to tell his soul how old he thinks he should be, instead of the other way around. That doesn't mean he doesn't have a soul, but he's somehow gained the ability to control it in ways no one else has been able to.
  5. Agreed. We know, in fact, that he has something that can change the Spiritweb (the Lerasium bead) if he can figure out how to do more with it than turn himself into a Mistborn, but he obviously had some way of remaining alive long before that. I think he must have had some way of rewriting his own Spiritweb long prior to that, but perhaps limited, since he can't just make himself an Elantrian or a Knight Radiant, for instance (though both of those require more than just a change in the person's own Spiritweb).
  6. Hurt Preservation, Heal Honor 3. Preservation: 276. Honor: 9
  7. Just try not to assume I'm suspicious based on the fact that I'm 2/2 as an Elim in my games so far! Of course, we know I'm not yet, but with my luck...
  8. Hah, no, but I did immediately think of (Agents of SHIELD Spoilers):
  9. Hurt Preservation, Heal Honor. 3. Preservation: 29 6. Honor: 11
  10. It's been speculated/assumed that Division (a different Surge) already works that way, in essence. So Windrunners probably couldn't do that, but other orders maybe. EDIT: However, attaching a storming ton of lashings to the same object in the same direction could achieve that instead.
  11. Quintus finished his sketch of the room, including the sparse decorations and furniture, and turned to one of the nearby doors. All else being equal, he'd chosen the one furthest from the rest of the group so he could slip off unnoticed, hopefully. Here in this next room, he found little of significance at first, but he waited a moment to make sure no one was able to see him, then he burned Bronze and Steel. A few blue lines popped up showing metal objects, but nothing out of the ordinary. He heard none of the pulse that would indicate an Awakened object, but he knew that wasn't always perfect, since he wasn't able to pick up small levels of Breath that way. Still, it was a clue that this room likely held nothing much of interest. Unless there was an aluminum panel. He set to work checking, being thorough as he'd been taught. ----- If anyone wants to RP following Quintus, feel free, otherwise I'll explore alone. Also, I made up the idea of Bronze Allomancy finding Awakened objects, though it makes some sense to me.
  12. Orlok, it's not that it's a punishment, but that it's good strategy. I wouldn't be upset to come back after being inactive to find I'd been lynched, but if we lynch someone active for no good reason, we're just depriving ourselves of a player who may be helpful.
  13. There are three planets, but as far as we know, both Honor and Cultivation invested in Roshar, Odium is trapped on Braize (we don't know for sure if he invested there, I don't think), and none of the Shards are confirmed to have anything to do with Ashyn.
  14. Thanks, y'all, that's great! I love the way he talked about Adolin; he obviously knows how much we like him and has enjoyed writing him too, so he's not going to be sidelined or left unimportant.
  15. I don't know why people find lynching inactives to be a problem. Early on, they're not going to be helping, but they could be turned even if they haven't logged on. After a few rounds, that won't be the best plan, and of course no one wants to punish newbies, but anyone who's been in SE games and isn't active should know better. Let's see who's inactive after this first night and go from there, but I can't imagine we'll have anywhere near enough suspicion to lynch an active player.
  16. Hurt Preservation, Heal Honor 3. Preservation: 276. Honor: 18
  17. Hurt Preservation, Heal Honor 3. Preservation: 276. Honor: 21
  18. Guess we haven't officially switch to heal 2, hurt 1? Hurt Preservation, Heal Honor 3. Preservation: 29 7. Honor: 21
  19. Honestly, I'd prefer we didn't see another Shard combination just yet. Maybe when we get to Mistborn Era 4 or into a more Cosmere-heavy story, but it'd feel too similar to Mistborn if he did it in SA, I feel.
  20. @Wonko the Sane, I got myself mixed up, thinking Neutral just meant Regular, I'm an "Explorer", so a completely vanilla role, normal "villager" I suppose. The different wording this game mixed me up I guess.
  21. Quintus rose early to prepare for his exploration of the house. The long-winded real estate agent had promised a prompt start, so he reviewed his notes briefly before heading up. Tales of awakened furniture, or the whole house(!) were almost certainly exaggerated or straight up fabrications, but certainly there was a mystery beyond it simply being abandoned. His master would want to know everything he found, so he prepared several notebooks and placed them on top of his pack, along with several pens and ink. No details would escape his notice. As the estate agent lead them into the house, Quintus largely tuned him out, the information being redundant, fanciful, or outright falsehoods, meant to bamboozle those with lesser minds. He instead turned his attention to the house itself, as well as some of his competition. Quintus didn't plan to try to purchase the house unless it was of particular interest, though he had the means to do so if it was necessary (so long as he wasn't outbid), but he did mean to be sure no one claimed any particularly interesting items before he could. He'd been taught to be wily and cautious, but appropriating items for the better good was acceptable, even commendable depending on the circumstances. He wasn't at all surprised when the agent disappeared and left them stranded within the strange mansion, therefore, and immediately began sketching a map beginning in the room they were in at the time, preparing to explore the house and find it's mysteries. Alright, I am also a neutral role (isn't everyone at the beginning?) with no particular abilities, so my goal is simply going to be to find out everything we can. I didn't like the plan of only having a few people explore, as I noted before, so I'm going to explore and see what I can find. I of course won't tell anyone if I find an omen and turn, but if I find something that I think is useful, I'll try to figure out who is safe to reveal that to. That'll be tricky with people changing allegiance, and not by choice, so if anyone has any ideas of how we can at least soft-clear people, that would be great.
  22. I don't think I've seen a single person speculate that Odium would be splintered. Upvote for originality. I like the concept, though if that happens we'll need another big bad for the Cosmere (which has already been speculated). I would love to see Cultivation spring a trap at the end of SA that brings Odium down once and for all, but has catastrophic effects for Roshar. Or perhaps that would be what happens at the end of the first half, and then the second half they have to deal with the effects of that decision. That would line up with the ideas in Mistborn (where killing TLR just made things worse) without actually repeating the theme. I can definitely see him doing that potentially.
  23. Heh, noted. And yeah, the lack of info might have dissuaded you, but I don't know that it wouldn't have also hurt us a good bit. It would have at minimum affected the ability to coordinate our strikes, which would have been ok in that game since we were all active, but had that happened in QF19, for instance, the fact that several Elims were mostly inactive would have made that mechanism almost impossible to use.
