  1. I'm a little surprised we haven't heard from Nathan yet. It doesn't make me more suspicious of him exactly, but he's been mentioned (the kind that sends notifications) and I PM'd him, and no response yet. It's possible there are RL issues making him inactive, but it is a bit odd since I don't recall him saying anything about that. I know it's also only his second game, though, and inactivity was a huge negative factor in his first game, so I hope he didn't just get discouraged.
  2. Yep, that's a very apt analogy. The nice thing is they can store abilities that are otherwise temporary (we think), and then tap them later to get them again temporarily. Compounding makes that very versatile when combined with other magic systems.
  3. I can't see a lot of situations where I'd believe DA about Nathan just because of that post and its implications. If I were an Elim, I'd leave my inactive teammates and throw suspicion on an inactive explorer that won't defend themselves instead. Inactive Elims don't hurt their team yet in this game, and there'll be time later if they need to get rid of them. I wouldn't consider anyone soft-cleared anyways, with the conversion mechanism. Also, MR18 is over, so I can actually concentrate more on this game. I'll find time to catch up and be more involved, hopefully. ------ Quintus rubbed his temples and nursed his aching head. He hadn't wished death on Isaac, and had defended him (well, he hadn't been accusing him, at least), but he wasn't dumb enough to try and stop the lynching, lest he end up there next to him. This was becoming a far more dangerous exploration than he expected, as much because of the other potential home buyers (few, if any, who were actually considering buying it, he suspected) as because of the house itself. Quintus laid back on a bed he'd found in one of the rooms and tried to rest, since he'd gotten only the barest amount of sleep since that night (was it four nights previous) before he'd taken the opportunity to explore the old house. He'd planned to be in here most of the day, perhaps come back a second day. Not be trapped in here for days on end. He had to find out what was happening and escape, with or without the treasures he had been hoping to find. But first, he needed to sleep. And hopefully he wouldn't wake up with a rope around his neck, or worse.
  4. Woah, I'd seen this original post way back when, and forgot all about that prediction. In the words of a certain much-loved but very minor *heh* character from a beloved movie: "That was totally wicked!!" The Incredibles
  5. I'm not quite sure either if Vasher can shape-shift when he's suppressing his Divine Breath (so not appearing "divine"). It's possible that he can turn it on and off, and once it's on, also adjust how he appears, but with it off, he may not have the same ability.
  6. @DarkJester, I had to copy and paste the text link itself. Here it is corrected: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIdr664qpMQ
  7. I took a look over some of the previous thread, and I think I'm going to toss my vote on polking. He's posted exactly twice since joining the game, one explaining some RL issues that made him less active (fair), but those should be over from what he said. I know we talked about the inactive Elims being less of an issue, but something feels off about him. I'll try to RP if I get a chance, I meant to do that most of the game and got caught up in the game discussion instead.
  8. Since he didn't have the Atium back, though, we know he was definitely limited, and that could have been a big part of keeping him from leaving. Harmony would have more reason to talk to Kandra off-world, too, so it would be worth the effort if it's possible.
  9. Unless they have the other powers to store in nicrosil, it doesn't work that way. They'd just be storing and tapping their own Nicrosil abilities, but wouldn't gain other powers.
  10. This should be in the Edgedancer spoiler forum, and tagged with [Edgedancer Spoilers], FYI.
  11. We saw a Vessel who was weakened and still partially trapped be unable to travel, but that doesn't mean that he couldn't communicate using Hemalurgy. We know Hemalurgy works anywhere in the Cosmere, and since that "flaw" is an underlying principle of Hemalurgy, I would expect there's a decent chance it'll work no matter where they are.
  12. Oh, right, good point. That would be very useful.
  13. Other way around, Brandon has confirmed it was after (which makes sense since Honor had a vision of the Recreance to send to Dalinar). I do love the idea of there being something more to Surgebinding. There's always another secret, right? Perhaps Surgebinding itself brings the Realms closer (since Kaladin apparently sees into the Cognitive and/or Spiritual, can't remember which), and with enough users could breach those barriers to a degree that allows the Voidbringer spren to make the jump, when they don't have that ability innately. Perhaps there's even "True Voidbringers" that have never before made it to Roshar because the Desolations were defeated and Honor kept the Realms in check. If so, things could go very badly for the Rosharans.
  14. Does Hemalurgy allow Harmony to speak with and keep track of Kandra who travel off of Scadrial?
  15. For Kandra, he might not need anything like that. Hemalurgy may allow him to contact them and get messages from them anywhere in the Cosmere. That'd be a good question to ask, in fact.
  16. I wish I could believe you, Nyali, but there's just this strong feeling that you're more than you're saying, this game. Too many times, you've helped vote off innocents, and then the kills in the night seem to implicate others, who then also turn up clean. If you're Elim, I'm going to be very impressed by your gameplay this game. If not...well, I don't know.
  17. I haven't gotten much of a read on PK yet, though I'll see if I can get a chance to review his posts. Len, I don't have a particular Elim read on you, though I'll probably be forever wary of you, so I'd be interested in the reasoning too. For now, I'll wait and see rather than drop a vote that hasn't been thought out.
  18. I suspect from that WoB he's actually saying that Harmony has an agent on Roshar, who can report back on what they see, so he's aware of "some of it". We know that Autonomy can interfere with other systems while Invested in Taldain, though, so clearly it's possible, and while Harmony has opposition, he's also extra powerful.
  19. That's a really cool concept, and yeah, it's similar while being different. We could probably get away with running those as separate games because of the few differences, but I'm definitely going to learn from some of your ideas when I get a chance to sit down and compare.
  20. @Amanuensis, I'm just not feeling Assassin being Elim, and I've been suspecting Nyali for a long time, but had held back for the same reason (she sounds genuine). I think I'm just going to be really impressed by how well she's played us, though, unless of course I'm wrong and she's clean. So, I guess I'm not 100% dead set, but I don't think I'd switch to Assassin without some really compelling reason.
  21. Considering how bad his aim was originally, and we know he's been a Twinborn all along, obviously, I doubt that particular theory. I think he does use his Steelsight for that, though.
  22. I need to see a Mistcloak Santa now. Can someone make that happen?
  23. 99% now! This is exciting (even though it doesn't mean we get the book very soon).
  24. I've had RL issues preventing me from engaging as much as I like, and from really analyzing the games, so my explanations will remain short until that's worked out. @Amanuensis
