  1. Lopen and @Kipper, I'm sorry you think that post was just filler, but I think you're being a bit harsh about it. I used some similar tracking and assumptions about who would be converted or killed in previous games and have had some success, which I want to build on. Also, I was assuming the Inquisitor would make a Smoker because my understanding is that he can make a spike from Aman to convert someone and give them that power. Did I misunderstand how that worked? I even looked back at the LG2 rules to try and confirm before I posted that.
  2. @TheMightyLopen, I feel like I almost always end up on your list of suspicions. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't think you suspected me in the games where I was an Elim, though.
  3. @Hemalurgic_Headshot, that sounds good, but actually discussing things like that openly can be a huge danger. Plans, sure, at least in general, but specific people likely to be attacked, converted, etc? Always just leads to the Elim(s) changing up the plans and making it harder on us. Our real work starts after the first conversion, in my mind, though of course we need to get good discussion about what's happening prior to that. I will be making a list of my own of who I would turn into a Smoker if I were the Inquisitor (don't turn me into one, please, I'd rather be a Coinshot or a Soother if you turn me ), and who would be on the kill list instead, since anyone who's likely a Misting is better as a kill, because any non-Misting deaths provide no conversion to the Inquisitor. I might be convinced to share some of that in a PM, though I don't trust anyone this game, even though almost all of you are village at this point. The strategy we should be considering is two-fold. We need to consider who was targeted by the kill and what it tells us about the Elim(s), and we need to determine who got each power that was stolen and used to convert someone. The new Smoker will not be easily discovered by a Seeker, but if they manage to match up a change in a scan from last night to after this conversion, there's a chance. Seekers, though, please do your best to scan as many people as you can, repeating some suspicions after each conversion, or get in contact with another Seeker if you're lucky enough. Just remember they could be turned if you do. Maybe try to use an intermediary, though even that's not totally safe. I'll also largely just be looking for changes in people's tactics and posts, which will likely be subtle, but hopefully I can catch them. Again, that work really begins after the first conversion, though it requires understanding each player now. Many players are playing just like I expect for now, like Len and Arinian, and others I don't know what to expect, but that's where I'll focus most of my attention.
  4. Happy Birthday, and boy do I feel old. That makes me...14 years and 10 days older than you. I just turned 32 back on the 21st.
  5. @feldi, Sadeas' Shardblade appeared next to him, which only happens when the bond is broken in death. That's our confirmation that he died, and I don't see any reason for him to be resurrected. He served his purpose.
  6. @The Flash, that's an awesome idea (though filling all those metalminds would be a chore, to say the least), but remember that Roshar already has an equivalent: soulcasters. They can make their food and housing at least as they go, so they already don't need supply trains.
  7. As far as we know, Odium hasn't left any world he Invested in. He's specifically avoided investing prior to being trapped in the Rosharan system, and in fact likely wouldn't be invested there if it wasn't either necessary for some reason or simply because he's been there long enough he didn't have a choice. Brandon has confirmed Odium didn't leave behind any of his Investiture on Sel, which is where we have the most evidence of his influence.
  8. @DroughtBringer, you are lurking, as Arinian pointed out, and since Aonar explained himself somewhat, I find your behavior the most suspicious at the moment (it should be noted, I talked with Mark via PM and while I haven't stopped being suspicious, I'm looking for better grounds for suspicion before I vote on him again, to help me avoid tunneling). Until I hear a good explanation, DroughtBringer has my vote. I'd consider some of the true inactives, but we know the Inquisitor isn't one, and they're mostly new players, and I don't like to vote them out early.
  9. I doubt I'll have the chance to ask him anytime soon myself, but yeah, I agree. I separated them in the original post now.
  10. Do Shards that are not on a planet (Ambition, if not splintered, and whatever the other one is) still create/influence a magic system in any way? Does Silverlight have a magic system?
  11. Heh, good to know. I won't count on it revealing anything, then. I think the only extra "action" I could expect is any passive abilities, like pewter, but I agree that they wouldn't get a free action with that particular GM clarification.
  12. I could certainly see Fabrials used for spacefaring, especially if they do find a way to store a ton of Stormlight, or hack it to access another source of Investiture. It's possible they could even figure out a way that didn't require a lot of Stormlight, but the biggest hurdle for them would actually be the return trip, since we know Stormlight leaks out of anything it's stored in, and unless their trip is going to be less than two weeks, it sounds like they'd probably lose any Stormlight they took with them even if it wasn't used. Biochroma I'd have a much harder time believing, but AonDor and possibly some other Selish systems would be very capable if they could overcome the range issues as @Weltall mentioned. Sand Mastery, of course, is unlikely at best to be useful for space travel, though I suppose it's theoretically possible someone could figure it out. I don't think we know of any other specific magic systems (I'm not counting the Aiviar, since they're something different than Shardic magic, and less powerful it seems), but I would guess that there are others that could do it that we just haven't seen.
  13. I'm sure there are other magic systems that can, but I would be a little surprised if Breath/Awakening could do that, simply because we haven't seen anything that remotely approaches it. We know there's a lot we don't know about it, though, so I wouldn't rule it out, especially for Vasher and Co. (that's a term I'm going to stick with). I highly doubt that Endowment's Shardpool isn't on Nalthis, though. Like many other people, I suspect hers is responsible in some way for the Tears of Edgli.
  14. Others said this before, so I'm not taking responsibility for the wording here, but I think that Nicrosil, rather than storing "Investiture" in the way we use the term, stores parts of your spiritweb, which is indeed Investiture, but more specifically, it stores the parts of your spiritweb that allow you to use particular magic systems. In other words, it stores your ability to access a particular flavor of Investiture. Other distinctions some people think of is that it stores Innate Investiture instead of Kinetic Investiture, which is a similar distinction, but might allow for Breaths to be stored, since they're sort of a grey area between the two.
  15. I suspect it's an inherent part of their Intents, or rather, a requirement for them to enact their Intents. A Shard that doesn't Invest in a world wouldn't be able to apply its Intent to anything, so it would be very difficult for them not to do so. Odium had an advantage in that his Intent didn't require that as directly, and he could focus it on destroying the other Shards, but most of the other Shards needed to apply their Intent to a world or to people, so they felt compelled to Invest.
  16. YES. YES YOU ARE. Perhaps you should use this image?
  17. "Sel" on the right. Took me a bit to see it.
  18. Both of those conclusions seem fairly possible to me. @OrlokTsubodai, would the writeup reveal if there were two different attacks on the same person, or only show that there was a successful attack? I.E. if both the Inquisitor and a Coinshot attacked Aman last night, would there be any way for us to know? Remart sobered as he watched the crowd gathering around, and then dispersing from, Elosa's body. The poor girl had barely made any impact on the rest of the group before her life was cut short, but she certainly hadn't deserved death. Her grand challenge had been brave, he heard, though he'd slept through it himself. Apparently whoever had killed her (an Inquisitor? surely not) was not the sporting type, nor honorable, but Remart couldn't fault their practicality. Who would want to match wits with someone who so openly declared their intentions? Even if Elosa was merely bluffing, it was too blatant to ignore. Perhaps someone else would have taken her up on the challenge, maybe even Remart himself (though he doubted it), but had he known what she was planning, he would have probably tried to discourage her. Whispers were that she had been a Smoker, too, since copper vials were found in her possessions, and that could have been a valuable skill to have in this strange test. Were more people going to die? Considering the two deaths already, it seemed likely. Remart could only hope to not be among them. He eyed the group as he quietly chewed on a piece of candy he'd found (that was a rarity!), and tried to pick out some of those who might be potential assets. The Agemtsar family, odd name as it was, might be helpful, as both the Magister and his son were present. He knew Roger Elariel by reputation, and while he didn't fully trust him, the man was sly and smart, and would be a helpful source of information. The Terrisman keeper, Herwybe, was a windbag, but one with a great deal of information. As a Keeper, though, he might be a target for an Inquisitor if there was one around, so Remart wouldn't count on him staying around. He debated sidling up to some of the others, trying to size up the "competition" in this test, though he wasn't feeling as much competitive as self-preserving, but didn't feel up to it. Instead, he silently picked up a shovel and went to help with the burial of the two bodies. There wasn't a lot left to do, but he wanted to be useful if he could. With a low burn of pewter, he was able to do work that others would have struggled with, fake leg or not, and it was good to use his hands.
  19. Found some more ideas. The Cat in the Hat: "The sun did not shine. It was too wet to play. And then the murders began." Alice's Adventures in Wonderland: "Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, ‘and what is the use of a book,’ thought Alice ‘without pictures or conversations?’. And then the murders began." The Secret Garden: “When Mary Lennox was sent to Misselthwaite Manor to live with her uncle everybody said she was the most disagreeable-looking child ever seen. And then the murders began.“
  20. Actually, Tony's in the best position of anyone to say something like that. He's been there, he's worn the suit but been a chull. He knows better than most what it's like to have power but not know how to control yourself. And as he says in the trailer, he wants Peter to be better than him.
  21. Unfortunately, I don't know that it narrows the possibilities down to experienced vs newer players, as long as they understood Aman was a threat and didn't want to go for a battle of wits (there wasn't even any iocaine powder!). However, there could be a conversion tonight since Aman was a Smoker (he said he was a misting, so no surprise there). Is there anything that can block the Inquisitor's conversion ability, btw?
  22. Remart snored right through all the jabbering the others were doing. No use worrying about any of this until morning. I already expressed my thoughts for the most part. I hate to say it, but while there was a ton of good discussion, we won't get much out of it until there's a conversion or two and we get to compare this cycle with people's behavior later. I agree with Aman's challenge, because I'd rather have a fun game than one that ends rapidly, even if it does end up with an Elim victory. I'll be happier with an Elim victory if I'm converted, of course, but I'll be happy with a fun and active game no matter the outcome or which side I'm on.
  23. It's far too late for me to be posting, btw (it's 1:30AM), but I can't sleep anyways. It looks to me like the rioting/soothing was probably mostly by villagers, and I suspect that's not the power that would have been appealing to the Inquisitor this round. They'll want to find Mistings, so if they have bronze or tin, they'll use one of those. Maybe they can use multiple powers, but unless the Inquisitor themselves was in danger, I doubt they'd have bothered with rioting or soothing.
  24. We currently have two additional kids in our house, spending the night because their mom (one of my wife's friend) is in the hospital and is likely to have her gallbladder removed. That's bad enough for her and for my wife who cares about her a lot, but it adds a lot of stress on me too, which lead to me being shut away in my bedroom and unable to really do much of anything for a while. My wife understands and wasn't expecting me to help with the kids or even be around them, but it still makes me feel like crem.
  25. @Sart, that looks amazing! I'm just curious, though. Do the Forgotten just have to outnumber the Rithmatists/town, or do they have to overwhelm the defenses in some way? I may have missed it, but I didn't see the win condition spelled out.
