  1. Oathbringer cover, but no spoilers
  2. Remart is at the pub (surprise surprise), storing plenty of calories from his three plates of food and two mugs of ale, so he's ready for anything. Edit: I'll keep my crippled and constantly eating CRs, and while Remart is a Bendalloy Ferring, I won't try to take on that CR since he is also familiar with Allomancy.
  3. True, I didn't say that just issuing an order to exterminate the Parshmen explicitly would have been in the Diagram (though I wasn't clear). I suspect he'll have a plan in there to take them out at some point, whether it ends up being successfully implemented or not.
  4. From just a Shardbearer to a Full Shardbearer now.
  5. I'd be surprised if that wasn't an option in the Diagram. It's pragmatic and completely ignores most established morality, so I'm a little surprised Taravangian hasn't already ordered the murder of the Parshmen in his kingdom(s).
  6. Huh, @BlackYeti, my only issue is that the title was moved to the bottom of the image.
  7. I think there may be an additional possibility with the Cognitive transformation, working basically like Lightweaving. They may not technically turn into a human, but simply be able to appear like one. That's well within Realmatic limitations. I do contest the last point I quoted. Adolnasium's Investiture isn't gone. We see evidence of that on First of the Sun, on Roshar, on Threnody (possibly). Some of the manifestations of Investiture have been "corrupted" or taken over by the Shards, but some appears to remain unchanged. I think there would still be an ability for the dragons to draw on that Investiture, though the manner (and amount) may have changed. I also think there's a decent chance that chunks of Adolnasium's power split off (much smaller than the Shards) like the extra bits that would be left over if you shattered a gemstone or a piece of glass. You wouldn't get 16 pieces that encompass the entirety of the original; there would be additional bits. I suspect there are some bits like that left over from Adolnasium, and probably more likely parts that were "in use" or Connected to a magic system already in place. Hoid's Yolish Lightweaving, for instance, still works, and presumably still just uses Adolnasium's Investiture.
  8. Thanks, Stick. I hadn't thought to analyze Rae's posts, and the partner claiming is a significant factor potentially. @Drake Marshall, please do weigh in. Because of the continued focus on this, and the suspicion (that I agree with) that it is very possibly the reason Rae was targeted, I am going to swing my vote back to Sart. Sorry, but the reasons for not claiming continue stacking up despite your points, and I'm starting to get the impression you knew that and were trying to downplay those reasons.
  9. We have specific WoBs about Sazed dropping Harmony as a single Shard now. There's no reason to debate that. At the time Sazed took them up, yes, they were separate and he continued to see them that way. Now, though, they are melding into one Shard.
  10. Yep, but shapeshifting is of course within the limitations of some Realmatic systems already, and having it be innate is certainly possible. Flight as well, and fire/ice breathing (see Elantrians), but of course there would have to be a source of Investiture to draw on. Since Frost at least was around before the Shattering, he would have been drawing on Adolnasium's Investiture I would assume, so nothing would be hampered by a specific Intent, but it wouldn't just be rule-less unlimited power (Sidious, is that you?).
  11. It's Brandon. Of course he'll surprise us.
  12. I imagine something along the lines of the transformation from dragon to human and back from Seventh Son (haven't seen the movie, but it was shown briefly in the trailer). A full-on dragon (mostly European style in that case, though I think Brandon's dragons will have some more Asian influence), landing and simply…shrinking down and looking human in a single fluid motion. To clarify on the appearance, I expect the Cosmere dragons to have the long bodies of Chinese dragons, somewhat, but to retain arms and legs, and I somewhat don't expect them to breath fire, but I'm not sure why I've got that stuck in my head. They'll be cunning and crafty by nature, though, which Hoid implies fairly heavily about Frost, but with the usual range of personalities we'd expect of any sapient race in the Cosmere, rather than the stereotyped dragon personality of other mediums (always greedy and quick to anger, for instance).
  13. Where is Stick this cycle anyways? You're about the only player laying low and not posting, Stick. That makes me suspicious, even though I don't expect you to make the huge posts some people do.
  14. Hmm, that's better, and certainly takes advantage of the anonymity granted by the split roles. I still am not sure I want the Elims to have confirmation of which roles are in the game and how many of us have roles.
  15. So I may be a rarity at this point, since I read the graphic novel prior to recieving and reading the prose version. I had given some of my thoughts in the non-prose forum, but now that I can enter this hallowed ground, I thought I'd share a few more things. The pacing and amount of detail in the graphic novel was dissatisfying to me, but that may be due to my limited experience with that format. I definitely missed the world building details, though looking back, I am somewhat impressed with what did get included just through the images, since the exposition was missing. I didn't like some of the changes like Praxton giving his power to Kenton, though as someone mentioned, that might have been a misunderstanding on Kenton's part that will be corrected later. I guess mostly I'm echoing the thoughts of other posters I've seen here, but I do think it's probably good that Brandon was willing to branch out with a new format. I just wish he'd been in greater control, since my impression is that he mostly turned over the project to the artists.
  16. That looks a lot like some of the music I end up listening to, @Slowswift, though not exclusively. I love it. Would anyone be interested in my Nostalgia playlist? I'm a 90s kid, so you'd have to either be one as well or just be interested in that music. I've been carefully cultivating and building it up for a little while now, though.
  17. Better yet, @Andy92 go to his Facebook page and send a message to his assistant Adam that way. I got my copy of White Sand the next day when I did that. Brandon had posted just this week I think saying anyone who wanted it should do that (I think because the website contact form is overwhelming for them to get through).
  18. Sart, I'm a bit baffled by your vote on me, and your question. I fully explained both my vote on Bart and why I ended up retracting it. I'm wavering a little on revealing my partner, but I certainly won't do it without their full approval. I'm unconvinced that it won't help the Elims more than the village despite your points, which definitely have some good reasoning. Edit: I should note that my default is always to avoid providing information. The Elims already start out with an advantage in knowledge, and enabling them to more easily figure out roles and connections only helps them. Edit 2: In this case, I have to add one more thought. Let's say someone has a scanning role, or vigilante, or something like that. The Day player can then reveal their knowledge relatively safely, without fearing the Elim kill, since they can't be targeted directly. Once the Elims know all the pairings, however, that advantage and protection disappears.
  19. It should be noted as well that I'm planning on trying to find those partnerships by analyzing people's posts, though I don't assume that they'll actually have similar viewpoints expressed in the thread (not only are they independent people who think and write differently, but many partners may intentionally obscure their relationships), so I don't expect it to be easy. It benefits us more not to have those all revealed, in my opinion, though it's not as much of a risk for Day players with prominent and dangerous Night partners, like Aman or El, as was mentioned. You called your vote on Sart "going out on a limb blindly", though, and then provided some logic behind it? Why did you call it that, if you had actual logic behind it?
  20. I do definitely feel like an Elantrian at times.
  21. Agreed, @Elenion, I don't anticipate anyone learning my partners identity based on what we each say in the thread. We're going to be cautious about that, unless I'm somehow convinced otherwise (and they are as well). I do want to avoid us getting sidetracked by this discussion, since it's good, but it's not generating a lot of helpful information. @Drake Marshall, Elenion (already tagged), @Bartimaeus, and @TheMightyLopen, you all left votes on people while the rest of the votes were retracted or never placed. Do you stand by those accusations, and can you provide us with reasons for them (even if you're mostly reiterating)?
  22. Sart, I find that logic…baffling to say the least. It also defeats the purpose of having the split partners who can gather and distribute information in different ways. Revealing your other identity does nothing to help the village, since it wouldn't help us identify the Elims, either. I'm not voting on you yet because I think you're being genuine, but I also strongly feel you're wrong.
  23. I wish, but that's not how my life has tended to go. Case in point: now it's my son on the couch with a bucket, and either I or my daughter will probably be next. And my medical problems tend to just...never go away once they start. I've had digestive issues since I was 16. A headache for over 3 years straight. Fatigue for almost 3 years. Etc.
  24. I'm surprised no one did this one yet: "I've seen Steelheart bleed. And then the murders began." That's...the whole story, basically. From The Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness by Andrew Peterson: "The old stories tell that when the first person woke up on the first morning in the world where this tale takes place, he yawned, stretched, and said to the first thing he saw, 'Well, here we are.' And then the murders began." The War of the Worlds: "No one would have believed in the last years of the nineteenth century that this world was being watched keenly and closely by intelligences greater than man's and yet as mortal as his own; that as men busied themselves about their various concerns they were scrutinised and studied, perhaps almost as narrowly as a man with a microscope might scrutinise the transient creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. And then the murders began." The Time Machine: "The Time Traveller (for so it will be convenient to speak of him) was expounding a recondite matter to us. And then the murders began."
  25. Last night, Rae brought up a point I'd missed, near the end. I didn't realize the Elims would only be able to target Night players, though once I looked over the rules again it's in there. That's good to keep in mind as people debating revealing their partners: revealing might protect you from the lynch, potentially, but could allow the Elims to target a Day player when they otherwise would be stuck guessing. That might also be why she was targeted, but it's a somewhat minor point that I doubt would be been the full reason. If they were hoping more of us would reveal and make their work easier, though, I can see it. @OrlokTsubodai, I do get your confusion about why I was suspicious about Bart's claim, but I've seen a very good tactic used by Elims with a role before. They claim, then prove that role, and then use that to gain trust. It's worked several times recently for scanning roles, and here, I could see it used in a "lite" form. Reveal who your partner is, they confirm it's true, and bam, you've given out true information, but it doesn't actually confirm your alignment. People are more likely to trust you because you told the truth about something, though. Plus, this is the way I am when I'm part of the uninformed majority. I don't always grasp the implications of things right away.
