Long Game (3)2: Pulling on Strings
Jondesu replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'd like to know too, and it'd be even more helpful if we can figure out if Meta was killed by a Coinshot (maybe in the name of the Crusade) or by the Elims. I'm guessing if those represent two different attacks, we might not find out the identity of the other person attacked, but that'll be up to @OrlokTsubodai. As for the Smoke and Soothe/Scan combo, you're right, even if we think he's got the UberCopper from the Inquisitor. That would make him show up as Regular Villager, which is at odds with his claim of Snapping last cycle. If he shows anything other than Village Thug, or if the seek fails, we'll know something's up (though the seek failing could be the Elims throwing smoke, pun intended, if he is telling the truth). Edit: I've gotten somewhat fixated on Ecth, so tomorrow I'm going to do some analysis of both the others I was suspicious of before as well as anyone else that stands out. Also, no one was converted, so we don't have a new Elim to worry about yet! -
That makes sense, I know I could have figured it out, but I completely missed it at the time.

Ack, no good. It's actually not usually a good sign to not feel it that quickly, so keep it covered and clean, and consider seeing a doctor. Sorry to hear about that! -
Uh, I have no idea. Didn't even realize I did.

Crazy scenarios caused by twin born compounding
Jondesu replied to Did Someone Say Kill Evil?'s topic in Cosmere Discussion
I wonder how much control you really can get? Could you store just the sense of touch for your feet, or just your fingers, for instance? -
I wonder if Truthwatchers will have an easier time creating illusions of things that really exist? Or, since I think maybe the interaction of Transformation (soulcasting) and Illumination is what helps Shallan so easily bring to life the images she creates (and it's implied that she could do much more), perhaps Progression interacting with Illumination would allow for illusions that could…grow? I dunno, that's a harder one to place. Edit: that quote should be of @Djarskublar

Crazy scenarios caused by twin born compounding
Jondesu replied to Did Someone Say Kill Evil?'s topic in Cosmere Discussion
Actually, on this one, storing senses individually would be a help. Daredevil's specialty is primarily his enhanced hearing, not sight (obviously). Smell and touch factor in as well, though taste not as much. So a Tin-Tin Twinborn (heh) would be able to store just hearing, smell, and touch, and then have a virtually unlimited source of those enhanced senses. With practice, I imagine they could get close to a Daredevil-like sense of the world around them. If they were blind, it'd probably come even closer since those sense would naturally develop better anyway, and then would be greatly enhanced. It'd be a lot like Spook, but without some of the downsides he experienced like his sight being far too sensitive. -
Oh man, forums were my childhood. Granted, I was a nerd (still am) so it wasn't true for everyone I knew, but I had so much fun. I'm 32, btw, so right there in the same timeframe. What kinds of forums were you in?

Don't do it, man. There's lots of people who care about you and would be hurt by you being gone. I've been at that point before, and knowing that is what brought me back. It's not just an escape for you, though I completely understand that. It's crushing for those that care about you. -
But now you're an Awakened Object. Probably not as invested as Nightblood yet, but that's still cool.

Why would we judge you? I loved Eragon. It might not be the best quality in the world, but neither were The Hunger Games or many of the Star Wars books I've read, but that doesn't make them any less fun. Speaking of which: "It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. And then the murders began." (A New Hope) “Slowly, silently, its lights faint glitter of life amid the darkness, the Imperial Star Destroyer Chimaera glided through space. And then the murders began.” (Specter of the Past, by Timothy Zahn, one of the best Star Wars books ever written)

Long Game (3)2: Pulling on Strings
Jondesu replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
That's true, anyone who snaps is cleared until the next conversion. If no one else claims to have snapped, I'll be more likely to believe Ecth, though there are too many inactives that theoretically could have snapped. That'd be a super bold move, though, and I can't see Ecth making such an easily disproven claim if it wasn't true. -

Ooh, @Ecthelion III, you're a Thug? Or is there some other way to survive a lynch? I guess I see now why you didn't fight your lynch harder. You could be the Inquisitor, though, so I don't think I'm ready to let up on you just yet. Anything to add? Edit: I'd like to pretend I'll do a lot more RP, but honestly, I'm not seeing much to work with and I'm not coming up with much, so I probably won't really do any more unless someone prompts me. -
I don't think we know that he teams up with Hoid, and in fact I suspect it's very much the opposite. It probably won't be as simple as them being antagonists exactly, but we know that they hate each other (or at least there would be a strong chance of violence if they were in the same room) and while it's possible they would work together against a common enemy, I don't expect that's what will be happening. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Kelsier is leading the Scadrian space forces, and runs afoul of Hoid in an attempt to conquer or take control of another planet or some portion of it. I also would bet it's entirely possible (though incredibly difficult) to reassemble a Shard without being one yourself. The prevailing theory I've heard is that you'd have to collect enough of the splinters that you reach a sort of "critical mass" that would allow you to ascend, though you'd probably still be weaker than other Shards until you could find and reabsorb all of the various splinters. Kelsier would be one of the people driven enough to actually succeed at that, if he learns how. To reply to a post, just click the "Quote" button under their post, or you can respond to multiple posts at once by clicking the + button under each of the ones you want, and then there will be a "Multiquote" button that hovers on the bottom right corner of the screen. Works on mobile or a computer.

Whoops, you're right. I didn't know about X-24's healing factor being weaker, but it doesn't matter: what I was referring to was Wolverine stating that the adamantium bullet being able to kill himself or Laura. He was saving it to use on himself. He may have just been wrong about it being able to kill him, I guess, but it was implied that it would successfully kill him, just as it did X-24.

Mark (not going to bother tagging, since you said you're not posting again), that's...the weakest excuse for a vote I've seen, even more than a gut read. I can't imagine any good reason for that, though it doesn't read Elim to me. That said, I'm placing my vote back on Ecth. He's continued to just post enough to seem active, but joining a bandwagon on Rand after calling out Len of all people for bandwagoning is absurd. I'm not necessarily clearing Rand either, since you know I've already stated suspicions on him, but this bandwagon on him smells, and I'd rather see Ecth's alignment at the moment. -
Just saw Logan with my wife tonight, and...I wasn't impressed. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but I felt his performances as Wolverine were far better in some of the other movies, and the story in this felt like it was designed only to be dark and gritty and have lots of blood and gore. Taking care of Charles as nice to see, and their relationship through their respective illnesses was touching, but I felt the movie was lacking overall. Laura was amazing though, both in personality (what she conveyed in the first half of the movie when she never spoke a word was amazing) and skill, for the action sequences. I was also incredibly confused by the adamantium bullet. Yes, it's the only way to penetrate his skull. Striker shot him with one in Origins, right through the center of his head. It blew a hole through his brain and he healed right back up, just missing some memories. Huge continuity error there I'd say.

Chulldung...we're going to have to hire a lawyer. Our short term disability appeal (just to extend the claim they'd approved before!) was just denied. This is...9 months after they originally denied it, and we've been going through the appeal process for a long time now. Just...argh. -

Jondesu replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Yeah, that's why I didn't cast a vote on you. I was simply noting that you fall under that criteria I was considering of who might be trying to be active but not drawing attention via their votes. You've certainly drawn attention, but at the same time, I don't recall seeing any votes against you, and your voting pattern was an easy one to hide behind if anyone called you on it. -

I appreciate the compliment I believe I see, @Ecthelion III, but I have zero skill at codes, either encoding messages or decoding. I would know where to start (I only knew there was a code because of the other messages people have been trying to decode here in the thread). I take your point on your activity level too, and I'll withdraw my vote for now, Ecthelion. I'm still wary, but not overly now that I'm taking that into account. My other suspicions I mentioned are Len, Lopen, and Randuir. All meet my criteria when it comes to the vote and potentially flying under my radar. I guess I'd like to see what others think of that theory and those players before I cast a new vote, though. I may be completely off in my thinking, but it made sense to me. -

I can see some situations where they might not send a message, though. They could forget, they could just not have something worth saying and maybe revealing their identity if they're not careful, they could be coordinating with someone else and only posting on some cycles to verify information. There might well be a Mistborn, which would be good because it give us better odds (and they can't be converted, right?), but I wouldn't jump to that conclusion just yet. -

Jondesu replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Definitely an Aman-inspired message, I'd say. Very interesting! Same tineye as before, or do we have multiple tineyes who are behind the different message styles? Following up on my analysis overnight, I'm going to place my official vote on Ecthelion. He's been lurking, posting only little bits but not really acting that into the game yet. Good cover for an Inquisitor, with votes but not a lot of other things to draw attention. -

Hey, like Lopen mentioned, at least lynching regulars doesn't help the Inquisitor make converts. -
The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!

Sorry you're going through that. Hopefully the sinus issues (or whatever else might be contributing) will be resolved! I'm headed up to the Mayo Clinic in a couple weeks to hopefully get some better idea of what's causing mine. That's my good news to share with the thread!
