  1. Just had the Botox shots and I'm headed home to wallow in misery. At least I never have to see that witch doctor again.
  2. If I can't convince you to say more, I'll have to hope you do figure it out, but you've definitely got your vote on the wrong person for now.
  3. Joe, with the stakes here, that's not good enough. See, a lynched Forgotten here likely leaves us with 2 or 3 remaining, even if they don't manage a conversion. At that point, 7 players will be left alive if they get just one kill (at least the Forgotten Assassin won't get to kill again tonight). If there's 3 remaining, we're almost certainly screwed, but with 2 we'd have a chance. If you lynch me now instead, there will still be 7 players left, but guaranteed 3 of those will be Forgotten, with a chance that either there are 4 now or that they get a conversion, which means game over. This round is it. We need more than vague logic and promises of more info later.
  4. Looks too old for me. Vin is a kid in the first book, and only in her late teens in the second. Maisie Williams is already looking too old. In a few years (by the time they actually pull it together), perhaps Dafne Keen would be good, though. She was incredible for the action sequences in Logan, and while she had the strong accent (intentionally), I bet she would do fine with whatever accent they decide to use for Mistborn.
  5. It's not in the same category as many of these games, but I've spent a good bit of time on Marvel's Contest of Champions lately. It's basically Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat on the iPhone/iPad, but with the various Marvel characters. They use versions of some directly from the MCU, and some directly from the comics, so it's a fun mix. Quake, for instance, looks exactly like Chloe Bennet in the AoS TV show, but Hawkeye has the purple eye mask and logo. Falcon is again just basically photographed and put in from the MCU, and there's two versions of Vision: the MCU one and the comic one. Then there's characters like Gwenpool (the alternate universe mashup of Gwen Stacy and Deadpool, which is hilarious), and a ton of others. It's one of the "freemium" games where they want you to buy stuff to make the game easier for you, but I haven't spent a dime yet and it doesn't really matter. There's nothing you can't do without paying, just stuff you have to stop and wait for if you don't want to pay.
  6. Getting rid of your back works, but it's a bit of a spineless move. Sorry. Yeah, posture and wearing heavy things on your back can do it, but if it's truly severe, get to a doctor.
  7. Remember this? Yeah. Tomorrow morning I get to do it again. Fortunately, the doctors at Mayo Clinic said I have hyperflexible joints, and that doing those shots into my neck is an absolute no-go (they did 8 in the neck that time, I think, out of the 30 or so total). My neck was probably the worst part, so hopefully that will reduce the amount of extra pain I have to go through. I have to do this second round for them to be convinced it doesn't work, though, and we even tried backing out of it, but the Botox had already been shipped and can't be returned now since there's no medical reason I can't do it, so it would cost us ~$1200 if I just don't show up or refuse the shots. So, I'm going to suffer through them, spend a few days or a week even more miserable than normal (since I know they won't work), and then we get to have more fun with something else. Also, I may end up going to Michigan for ~2 weeks for an in-patient headache clinic, instead of continuing to do more spread-out visits to Mayo, but that would be by myself, since my wife and kids can't go with me (she's almost 7 months pregnant, and they frown on flying at that point). That will probably get me healed the fastest, if anything they can do can fix this, but it could be very expensive and it will definitely be a couple of weeks on my own. That isn't really a bad day thing, but it belongs with the rest of this.
  8. Thanks, I'd forgotten that. Unfortunately, there's not a ton more detail there. It says Szeth's "eyes widened", and then Kaladin twists the blade and pulls it out, and just after that notes that Szeth's hand still works, which means the strike didn't sever the soul leading to the arm. It also notes that “he didn’t try to heal his shoulder—which would have required a lot of Light”, which is interesting. Was it bleeding? Partly grey? It doesn't really tell us, though I can't imagine it's bleeding and actually cut, from the way we know Shardblades work. Szeth is in the highstorm the next time he's mentioned, exploding with Stormlight, so it's likely he healed himself then, when he didn't have to worry about a shortage.
  9. No, I know who attacked you, but I have not learned of the second Assassin at all. I haven't been doing much in PMs since I've been busy and otherwise occupied until basically this cycle, though. I'm going through the posts of those who I'm less sure about, btw, trying to piece together parts of the puzzle, but at this point I'm 100% sure that Aman and Frozen Mint are Elims (Aman even almost admitted to both in a PM, but of course I know no one will believe that), and while I'd like to believe HH is as well, since he's voting for me, I'm leaning towards him being village. I'm still leaning village for Joe right now as well, and like I said before, I think Len is probably clean, and I hope Rand. However, we have (I assume) either 3 or 4 Forgotten right now (I'm hoping 3, but we have to prepare for the possibility of 4), and I'm running out of options, so I'm probably wrong about one of my village leads, though not necessarily. I have very little information to go on for Orlok, and Seonid is a bit of a wildcard (I've been PM'ing him, so I know he knows as much and more than I do, but that doesn't really tell me much either way). Still 2/3 or 2/4 isn't bad to have nailed down at this point. I wish we had more, though. Lines of Warding, btw, people! Since Aman is a Sentry, we lose two potential Lines of Warding there (in fact, we'd lose them even if he was telling the truth, since he couldn't Ward tonight, but I doubt he has any reason to use one again). EDIT: So I looked through the voting patterns to see if I could find any clues there (reading every post was going to be more than I'm up for). Most of us voted for villagers most of the time, of course, since we haven't lynched any Forgotten yet, but there are a couple of votes that stand out to me. On C2, Stick (confirmed villager) voted alone for HH. No one has since voted for HH, and Stick was lynched that cycle, so it doesn't give us a lot of info. Still, it is interesting that the only people to vote for HH are Rand (C1) and Stick (C2). Also on C2, Lopen and Brightness, who are both confirmed village, voted for Joe. They repeated that same vote on C4, and were joined by Seonid, after which Lopen and Brightness were both killed. Of course, Lopen's role was known and would have been one worth targeting him for, but I don't think we know if the Elims knew Brightness was the Acid Specialist. This actually reads to me as an attempt to frame Joe, making it look like his accusers were being silenced, without killing all three of them, either because they couldn't or they wanted to use Seonid for other purposes (or he's Elim, which I'm not ruling out of course). Frozen Mint and Aman voted independently for the first three cycles, with Aman voting on Silverblade C1, not voting C2, and then voting on Lopen C3, while Frozen Mint skipped C1, then voted on Stick C2 and Seonid C3. They both then voted on Ornstein C5 (confirmed villager) and now me this cycle. In the Elim doc, I bet they were trying to figure out how to distance themselves from teammates, but the Ornstein lynch was big enough they didn't need to vote separately there. FM voting on Seonid actually stands out to me quite a bit, in addition to my thoughts about the framing of Joe that I think might have happened. She votes for Seonid to distance them from each other, then Seonid votes for Joe, who they're framing as an Elim, and bam, they get split up in everyone's minds. I dunno, though, that feels like just paranoia and sleeplessness kicking in perhaps. Len and Rand, who I suspect are both village, however, voted for Seonid C4. While I wouldn't assume they're right even if they were confirmed good, I still find that to be a positive sign for this theory. In summary, my current thinking is that if there are 3 Forgotten, they are Aman, Frozen Mint, and Seonid, and if there's a 4th, it'll be HH or Orlok. EDIT 2: I'm waffling on Seonid, remembering his Line of Forbiddance, which could have been placed on someone else, but we do at least know it was indeed a Line of Forbiddance, assuming he's not working together with Orlok, which…he could definitely be doing. Let's take out Aman and Frozen Mint first, though. Lynch either one of them, and you can confirm I'm telling the truth.
  10. It was mentioned in the Prologue from Szeth's perspective first: I don't think we ever learned what a scratch or graze with a Shardblade would do, interestingly.
  11. Apology accepted. HH, thanks. So we know Aman used a Line of Vigor, Frozen Mint may have been the one to submit the kill or else probably also used a Line of Vigor (my understanding is that Lopen was to be protected), and if there's indeed an Assassin among the Forgotten (likely), that means we probably had exactly that: Three Lines of Vigor (one from Aman, one from Frozen Mint, one from an Assassin if it's not Mint), and then one submitting the Elim kill. I wish I knew who the other two are.
  12. Alright, Frozen Mint, thanks. Now I know you're also an Elim. I'm sadly wary of Rand and Seonid, if only because I know how quickly I've bussed teammates that made mistakes in previous games, but neither of them is actually giving me Elim vibes at the moment. Len I have a fairly good feeling on this game (*gasp*), and I don't have many other strong opinions right now. I guess I'm still leaning village on Joe as I said before. Edit: I want to apologize if anyone thinks I got too heated about the issue of Aman (as I perceived it) blaming Sart. I hope you could at least all see I was being genuine, however.
  13. Agreed, that could be a danger, though it's possible it could be worked around. A Shardblade that cuts through the bicep, for instance, would only kill the whole arm if it goes through the core of the arm. If you just sliced through a top layer of skin, it wouldn't, and I'm not sure we know exactly what happens then.
  14. Except Shardblades (including living Sprenblades) don't cut living flesh. There are cases where that would work, sure, for necrotic tissue removal, etc, but much of surgery is working with living flesh (and trying to keep it living), so a Shardscalpel wouldn't actually be a great tool.
  15. Alright, I'm back, because the important message was just received. Sart has confirmed that he did not make a mistake, and that means Aman is lying, and he did draw a Line of Vigor (presumably helping to kill Lopen, though I haven't been able to pin which of those kills was aided by that). @Amanuensis, here's what I really don't like about this tactic you're employing. Sure, you're lying, but that's just part of the game, and doesn't really bother me (I was prepared to counter a lie, and just waiting to see what it might be, though I didn't expect you to lie about using the Line of Vigor in the first place, just to come up with an inventive lie to justify it instead). However, instead, you blamed a GM mistake. That's crossing a line, in my opinion. Saying I'm lying is fine. Saying you did something else is fine. Claiming the GM made a mistake is not. I realize this isn't written down in any rules anywhere, most likely, but it definitely crosses a line I've felt existed here, though maybe I thought too highly of some people. I really didn't expect it of you, though.
  16. I can't view the exact time stamps on mobile, but I know I sent the PM to Sart exactly 27 seconds after I posted here that I would, because I had to wait 3 more seconds before it would actually let me send it. I can't view whether he's been online since then exactly, but it couldn't have been more than a few minutes, and there is no activity I can find from him posted after I sent that PM. At this point, this is getting so absurd that I will not post again until I get a confirmation from him.
  17. It's basically the same game, albeit sadly without custom decks (though you can use wild cards anytime you want, if you have in-game coins). Very fun, and very NSFW usually.
  18. @Amanuensis, you don't honestly think I'd be so dishonorable as to lie about Sart not responding, do you? He hadn't viewed my PM in 13 hours, which is when he sent me your action, and is prior to me asking him for clarification. That's actually somewhat insulting to think I'd lie about something like that. I'll lie about plenty of things in a game like this, but not about the GM or his/her activity. And you know nothing of the sort about me being evil. I'm not, and I'm becoming increasingly annoyed about your refusal to try and justify the Line of Vigor you drew and instead claiming you drew something else. Did anyone use a Line of Making on Aman in a previous cycle that could help corroborate or disprove his claim to have drawn a Line of Warding this cycle, while we wait for Sart? Edit: Aman, I seriously am beginning to hope there was a mistake and that you're telling the truth, because I'm going to be very disappointed in your tactics if you are indeed evil, this cycle.
  19. Ooh, that's an interesting twist. It still needed an order to be placed prior to that, though, right? The really fun thing about the guns is that sometimes we can be getting accusations seconded (since you need that IRL) and then someone will just shoot the person that's being accused. It gives the town a chance for another lynch after they've put a lot of discussion into it. Sometimes the Elims will get a gun or multiple, though, and sometimes that means they go and just end the game by surprise one cycle (or the town will, if there's a circle of trust of any type).
  20. @randuir, I scanned Lopen C2. Sart hasn't responded yet to my request to confirm what action you took, @Amanuensis, so I'm withholding any further accusations or analysis pending that (I assume he's getting some sleep).
  21. Wow, you think I've got bigger cojones than I really do. I wouldn't pull that, and I'd have had to plan it really fast to pull that off. I literally saw the message from Sart in my GM PM, came to the thread, and posted that. I'm not a Forgotten, and I'm not making anything up, so the only possibilities are that you're lying (planning the same, that no one can refute it) or that Sart made a mistake. If Sart did (and I could hardly blame him, especially since I haven't yet GM'd a game but I know there's a lot to keep track of), then I'll retract my accusation and we'll move on to other evidence or arguments, but if there wasn't a mistake, I can't think of any conclusion that doesn't lead to you being Forgotten. EDIT: Anyone else want to chime in? Aman and I are going to monopolize the conversation for a while, it seems, and I don't want anyone to feel shut out.
  22. Yeah, that's a decent comparison for people that aren't usually decent. They were fine with my disability leave for the first 5 months. Then they decided there wasn't enough "objective medical evidence" and denied it from that point on. They've consistently failed to provide us with details when we've asked, or will send us in circles, and we filed the first appeal on our own because we figured the whole thing was so ridiculously obvious we didn't need a lawyer. Yep, that was a bad idea. So we have to find a lawyer stat (like this week) and get that started, in the midst of all the other crem and the process of trying to actually find a solution that I'm not sure exists for this headache. The neurologist at Mayo confirmed it's probably what's called a "New Daily Persistent Headache", which can fall under several categories as to what causes it. Generally, though, they either last less than two years, or never go away (exceptions are almost unheard of). I've had it for 3 years and counting, so it's never going away. They just might be able to minimize the pain and help me get on with my life. We'll see.
  23. Right, my question is why you think that means that I have to be Forgotten if I'm an Artist? The other Artist could be, or Sart could be trolling us with his role distributions, or any number of possibilities. You don't contest that I'm an Artist, yet you do claim I'm either lying or got wrong information, and say that you think I must be an Elim because of this… that doesn't add up at all.
  24. I'd join again, but I think I'm about to fall aslee…..askddhgj;aoisua;otneaklj Oh, whoops. Anyways, another time. Do you (or anyone else on the Shard) play Evil Apples, though? It's an iOS and I think Android game also based around CAH.
