  1. Nah, that Investiture should return to him just like the Investiture used for Allomancy. If the population grows, he'll probably weaken a bit, but I doubt it's too significant. jW
  2. I've got my tickets already to go see it next week, on Thursday at 7:30 PM, the first showing that I could find. I chose not to see it in 3-D, because we always have trouble with 3-D films, the flickering and extra layers cause some type a problem with our eyes. jW
  3. In the Trustwarren, TenSoon tells the kandra that it was their responsibility that they took the contract with Straff Venture, who then handed him over to his insane son, IIRC. jW
  4. I think he may have left Scadrial "air-space" in SH, though he didn't make it to a different world. That's pretty close, but yeah, haven't seen him actually on another world yet, but he knows one of the ways to do it. I wonder how easily he could get back to the Cognitive, though, since the first time he ended up there he died to do it (albeit not planned). jW
  5. Do we have confirmation of this idea? My concept of the relative strength of Allomancers wasn't that stronger ones burned their metals faster, but rather like they had a wider nozzle: more Investiture could flow through with the same amount of metal. That means they would burn their metals at the same rate, but get more power than another Allomancer would. jW
  6. I've messed around with Miitomo a bit now, and while it's usually somewhat boring, I got a kick out of answering one of the questions today (spoiler for size): jW
  7. Same the other way for me with Samantha Carter from SG-1 (Amanda Tapping). I started watching Sanctuary after that, and she uses her native Canadian/English accent, and it was oddly weird and natural at the same time. jW
  8. They're both a disaster waiting to happen if you're not careful. A Mistborn is like a bagel.
  9. From the trivia on IMDB: jW
  10. All of those, I suspect, and what about in Fabrials as well? They could well be the beginning of electricity for Roshar, as well as terrible but effective weapons (a counter to Stormform's lightning, perhaps?). Maybe movies or even holograms as well. I don't know that I'm even picturing the possibilities fully. jW
  11. Okay, you got me thinking here, on a different tangent than you expected. Which of the other 16 might have been terrible? If Bavadin/Autonomy (not sure if that's confirmed) was helping Odium, was he also awful, pre-shattering? If it was a big conspiracy, doesn't it seem likely that some of them were at least ruthless, if not outright evil? Who else might be, and what Shards, dangerous or not, are they holding now? jW
  12. I'm already sucked into this Firebird series from her. It's an amazing concept: cross-dimensional travel via body-hopping (like Days of Future Past, except between dimensions except back in time). I'm 76% through the first book, and I just started reading it a few hours ago. I read fast, but only if I'm interested enough. I haven't gotten very far into The Golden Compass, by comparison, and I've had that checked out a lot longer. jW
  13. Yeah, seems that way (though I haven't seen anything in this season so far that seemed like a big reveal). I think I'll just have to resign myself to watching the catchup videos instead of the full episodes, then go back and watch them once they're on Hulu or Netflix later. Those are here if you haven't seen them, btw: http://www.cwtv.com/shows/arrow/watch/season4/ jW
  14. That makes a ton of sense. It would explain Brandon implying he'd be hard to spot. He could be a man, woman, any race, any animal (maybe). Heh, he could have been that wild stallion Kaladin tried to ride (jk). jW
  15. Actually, Surgebinding appears to come from both Honor and Cultivation, with specialties from each. Shallan cultivates, Kaladin and Dalinar are honorable. I think their means of accessing the power is different. jW
  16. I just checked out "A Thousand Pieces of You" from the online library, by the same author. I'll report back once I've read some of it. jW
  17. One theory I've seen a lot is that Braize was the Tranquiline Halls, but Odium or something else drove humanity from it to Roshar, and ended up turning it into Damnation. It's where it's suspected the Heralds go when they "die", between Desolations. jW
  18. I suspect his actually refers to Dalinar taking over the Tower (Urithiru), the Crown (Bondsmith and Knight Radiant), and the Spear (leader of the forces against the Voidbringers, or possibly something yet to come). jW
  19. Ooh, didn't know they were combined. Sadly, I haven't been able to keep up with Arrow, so I don't know if I want to spoil myself by reading that thread. jW
  20. I'm amazed there isn't a topic about this yet. Who's watching The Flash on CW? Or Hulu, in my case. Specifically, (spoilers in case anyone isn't up to date): jW
  21. Amazing story. I loved the way they tied their stories together without just having them think and do the same things, and then the rescue at the end and yet an open ending... So good. Maybe even up to Sanderson quality. jW
  22. That does make sense of a Death Rattle I wasn't able to make any sense of so far. I can't imagine a better interpretation. jW
  23. Whoops, thanks. TenSoon did use his bones later, though, so he should know where those are if they weren't lost. jW
