  1. Uhhhh... there was a typo in Page 2. The Bondsmiths went from 9 to 19. As such, I am reinserting it with a score of 10 (for reference, the error was entered page 2, post 25) Windrunner 10 Skybreaker 3 Dustbringer 9 Elsecaller 9 Truthwatcher 8 Bondsmith 10 Stoneward 6
  2. Actually, as the creator of Random Stuff VII, I can confirm it is still the Admins naming it, not we mere mortals. It will be interesting to see what they do with it this time, though. They might go with the leaked rumour going around circles though. Random Stuff VIII: Tale of the Admin Temple... Hmmm... And Honor, I honestly thought we would reach Random Stuff LXXI : If only there were this many Star Wars movies before I got the chance to make one, but I just happened to be on at the time. I was actually making a post, and by the time I pressed 'post', it came up with an error that the thread had been locked. So, you never know. On a seperate note, The Way of Kings disappeared from the library shelf a week ago. Then it reappeared, and Words of Radiance was nowhere to be found. Then Mistborn disappeared. Now the Well of Ascension is missing. We have a new Sanderfan at our school!!! Well, technically, it could be an old Sanderfan that's decided it's time for a reread, but still... Also, do any of you know whether A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab is worth reading? The blurb sounds interesting.
  3. As opposed to American Fork, UT, USA, North America, Western Hemisphere, Earth, Solar System, The Milky Way, the Universe, the Parallel Universe in which Slowswift lives. Got it. Glad we cleared that one up .
  4. Random Stuff VII.V : Rogue Admin
  5. Is this the beginning of the end for the Random Stuff VII thread? Unless there's a barren spell, we should reach the magic 100 in a couple days. (What happened to Chaos saying something about the number of posts per page changing? Is that coming soonTM? Or actual soon?)
  6. Just testing to see what happens. (Does it say something about me that I didn't actually realize there was a swear filter on this site until a couple weeks ago?) storm rust chull
  7. Uluru isn't actually all that great. You drive out for a couple hours (depending on where you're coming from) to stare at a big rock. You're discouraged from climbing it because it's a sacred site to the indigenous people.
  8. Granted. You are instantly transported to a world without any gold. Or, for that matter, oxygen. I wish to become the Nightwatcher.
  9. Beanies (only because my school did the World's Greatest Shave on Monday and now a lot of people are wearing them.)
  10. True story: When I'd just first started playing my instrument, my conductor... well, long story short, he could act like a piece of crem sometimes. His chief interest in conducting the band seemed to be so he could show off how much better than everybody else he was, and he frequently showed favouritism and/or picked on instruments he doesn't like (Honestly, I don't know what a percussionist ever did to him, but he could have at least pretended to be utterly biased). We had about 40-50 people in the new Training Band at the beginning. After a term and a bit with him, the number had dropped to about 25. I remember one time when I had absolutely no idea how to play a note. He practically marched over to prove how much better he was, flipped to the back of the book, looked at the gibbering mess that was the bassoon fingering charts (which illustrated every single one of about 40 odd keys in a tiny little space - about the size of profile pic's on this site.) Seeing that he had absolutely no clue either, he trounced something about how it wasn't his job to teach me fingering anyway (so why did you just come over?) and trounced back to the conductor's spot. So yeah. Nobody liked him very much. I was genuinely considering quitting if something didn't change. Then, one day, he announced that we'd have someone who'd been studying to become a conductor was going to take over for "a couple weeks" to gain experience. That week, our regular conductor was in the background, making the odd suggestion here and there, but generally hanging back. The next week, our regular conductor didn't show up. The studying conductor was doing fine, and was more popular by everyone, because he had less of an ego, had a sense of humour, and basically didn't shove the message of "I am superior" down everyone's throats. The week after that, the "couple week" arrangement had been extended slightly, as our regular conductor didn't show up again. Or, for that matter any of the following weeks until the end of term. In fact, by the time it swapped back over again, we'd had our 'student conductor' for a longer time than we'd had our regular conductor. And, at the end of the year, he left for a job offer at a private school. And, while we didn't get that student conductor to take over, who was still doing his studies, we did get someone who was a much better conductor/person than his absentee predecessor. (Fun fact: The full time replacement conductor maintains to this day that he got the job because he happened to make a Yoda joke in the trial practice session that he took over for. After the old guy, I think everyone thought someone with a sense of humour would make a refreshing change.)
  11. Well, with an 11,000 year time lapse. I have to admit, this is more of a hunch than a proper theory. My sources: Exhibit A: http://theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=1108#6 Exhibit B: (SH spoilers) So, we know that Hoid having visited Braize (or not) is somehow massively important to the Cosmere Cycle, and we know that Khriss, the "most knowledgeable person about the Cosmere we've met" doesn't know where Yolen is. My theory, assembled on much too little sleep, is that Yolen and Braize are one and the same. Thoughts? Any reasons why my theory is either plausible or impossible? Thanks!
  12. I've read Voidus's news post, and I'm going to read your short story next. Looking forward to it! Technically, there are 4 other Sharders I know of in Sydney (3 of which are on the map, and one other who I happened to be in on a PM where they mentioned it, but I won't add them without their specific permission.) 2 of those, however, are dud accounts which haven't been active in a while. Maybe... If I could organize some sort of holiday to fit on either side of Shardcon, then I might be able to go one year, but it seems unlikely to me at the minute.
  13. There's an Australia RP? I'll check it out. Nothing makes a fun day like destroying my hometown.
  14. Just had a look at the Irish Election results. I... don't know what to say. This will be interesting. *gets out the popcorn* So, long story short, we have a bunch of parties, none of whom have enough seats to win. They all hate each other, and yet somebody's going to have to side with somebody else. The two biggest parties are politically close together and have enough votes between them to win, but they've been more or less arch-enemy's this entire race, so that seems... somewhat unlikely. Or, one of the parties can try siding with 2 or three of the minor parties, who they (generally speaking) are further away from politically than aforementioned arch-nemesis. It's all very interesting. If you're confused, the Irish Times got a little app thing here which is handy.
  15. I don't know. I just tried it, and got the same issue. I also tried going into the specific folder, then clicking upload, but that didn't work either, and I was just given the 'Select a Category' page again (by contrast, doing the same thing in the Mistborn folder automatically selected the Mistborn folder). It also seems to happen on both Chrome and Edge, so it's not a browser issue.
  16. Vin was, for want of a less stereotypical phrase, the 'Chosen One'. It was always intended that she would be the one to take up the power of Preservation after Leras (that black haired man with the strong nose) died. Her taking in the mists... That was a sort of forward loan, to prevent her from dying (although she couldn't Ascend until Leras was out of the way). Then she sort of derailed all of Preservation/Leras's plans anyway, so that whole thing was sort of redundant. (There's more complicated things going on behind the scenes as well. You might here more about that when Marasi has a chat with someone about the Words of Founding in SoS, and even more in Secret History.)
  17. When everybody keeps meeting each other by pure coincidence. So, the crew of Rogue One will just happen to meet nearly all of the cast of the other movies, not just the ones where it's justified (i.e. Leia, seeing as she probably ordered or at least was aware of the mission.) I'm trying to think of a good example now.
  18. I find the repitition in this thread confusing because the repitition is confusing.
  19. According to the map, there are 2 other Colorado Sharders besides you. (Tulir and WitSpren.) I just checked, and both were last active around a month ago. I presume that means they just log on infrequently, so you might have trouble getting in contact with them.
  20. Am I the only one who doesn't know another Sharder in person? (To be fair, I have one Sanderfan friend and another who's read SA, but neither is on this site.)
  21. Hmmm... I never realized that Darths & Droids is made by Australians. EDIT: Also, Kaymyth, how's the caucus going? Is the Caucus feeling the Bern?
