Random Stuff VIII: The Admin Special
Young Bard replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
I just watched the first 4 episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist. I am loving it - I don't know how I didn't see this before, besides the fact I've been perpetually putting it off. But... some things in there are seriously disturbing. Also, doesn't anyone else think that calling the leader of the country Furher has unfortunate implications?- 1963 replies

It sounds sort of like something I've heard before, yet I can't think where. I can think of several examples where there are different laws of physics depending on which parallel world/plane of existence you're in, but withing the same universe... It definitely sounds interesting. How does it work (What are the underlying principles)? I've got a few ideas just from this, but I don't want to hijack your story, so PM me/mention here if you're interested, and I'll share them.

Hmmm... it's an interesting point. I think that there is a much greater ease of access to the Shard than whatever GRRM's fansite is (last time I visited there, I don't think he had a link to a particular fansite, but I could be wrong). So people automatically come here to the concentrated burst of cosmere enthusiasm, while the GRRM fans have a more diverse (yet less concentrated) fandom found throughout the internet. I also might be overanalyzing this slightly. EDIT: I looked again. It's not that GRRM doesn't have a fansite on his website - it's that he has about 30 and doesn't make any one his 'official' fansite. Which could have the same effect.

I worked it out from your profile comments. These two were right next to each other, and suddenly all signs of 'fmetal' and 'ametal' were gone...

So, what April Fool's have been around on the site. I worked one out after I visited the Hogwarts RP, but I'm sure there are others.- 1963 replies

Regarding Ametal, it happened because people started abbreviating it and Chaos didn't like the look of it. So, it got added to the swear filter. (No offence meant, Great Overlord Chaos.)

"No, of course this isn't a pug. It's a cat that just happens to look exactly like one." *"Cat" yips* "Uhhhh... and sounds like one. And probably smells like one, too." EDIT: Do we want to set dates for when certain events are happening? We've been talking about the train leaving the station for ages now. Maybe just say that the train leaves Sunday, and it arrives at Hogwarts the Sunday after that. (Suggestions welcome.)

Yeah... someone attempted the Chewbacca Impersonation Contest prank at school today. Unfortunately, I'd seen it before, and I think enough other people had as well, that people didn't fall for it.- 1963 replies

Uhhh... no, sorry. Do you mind explaining? Angus McWallace (my character). Silverblade also wondered if his character Michael and Paloma could sit down a while ago, so if they want to sit down there I can search for my 'friends', a convenient exit device I threw in in the last post. (If we're OK with 5 or even 6 people in a cabin, that's OK too, but I think that might be a bit busy.) Also, I fixed up the post from before so he knows your character is a third year now. Also, I've added a temporary section to the Google Doc about who's in which compartment, so I can keep track.

Hmmm... a mysterious post from Weiry this weekend. Could this be the announcement of the White Sand and Aether forums (though I thought Chaos would announce that)? I wonder...- 6 comments

Actually, the widget, or whatever it was, seems to have stopped - in favour of Legolas / Gimli at .18% We overcome those odds before midnight, Vin / Elend win. Already, it's at .17% (And yes, I did just sit there refreshing the screen to see if anything had changed. That's not normal?) EDIT: Nope, it's back at .18 again.- 1963 replies

"Hey! Nice skirt." Angus sighed as he walked past the boy who'd spoken. "Shut your bloody geggie and stop being such a bloomin' dunderheid. I've a mind to make a skelt you right here and now." The offending first year spent several moments trying to work out what he'd just said. Eventually, he opened his mouth again for a retort, only to notice that the skirt wearer had already made his way nearly onto the train. "Bloody Scot." Angus smiled once the boy was out of site. He could only pull that trick so many times in a year, but he was determined to make the most of it. People didn't know how to react to a kilt. It seemed to make them uncomfortable or something. Well, that was just fine by Angus. Moving down the train, he didn't notice any of his usual group of freinds. Benny, of course had become a prefect, but the rest of them should be around somewhere. No matter. He could go searching again when the train was underway. In the meantime, he ducked into a compartment. Inside, there were was a first year sitting there, and an older student (Angus thought he was a third year) as well. "Top o' the mornin' to ye!" he cried enthusiastically. He noticed the first year was staring at him with... was that a bright red eye? "Don' mind if I stay 'ere for a while?"

I'll write Angus McWallace in now. If I do my half-leprechaun, I'll write it as a partial-flashback sometime before the Sorting Hat Ceremony, or else I won't bother. Also, Mist, I'm in the carriage too. I made a post about it here. (I'm not meaning to pick on you or anything. I'm just clarifying.) Looking through characters - Hufflepuff really isn't feeling the love at the moment. I might make my half-leprechaun a Hufflepuff (if that isn't too species-ist). EDIT: Nashan and Voidus, that was your compartment. I can move out again to move into a compartment with my 'friends' (NPC's at this stage) if Michael and Paloma want to move in.

Yeah... At my school, it's occasionally reffered to as the Scottish Play as a joke, but never because they were actually worried about a curse. Also, I'm imagining a variation of the Drumpfinator now... The "MacB'inator". It would be... beautiful.- 1963 replies
