  1. I actually already came up with the idea of somebody having a document saying that if they are sick and dying or brain dead or whatever they should have their power taken out with a spike so somebody else could have it.
  2. I agree, I think it would essentially allow you to recall those memories with photographic clarity and maybe notice stuff that happened that you didn't notice before. Would be very useful for a detective. Brandon plans to have an allomancer/Feruchemist SWAT team in the second trilogy, maybe there will be a copper compounder in there. edit: lol grammarfail
  3. there were a number of books, one which basically contained the HoA epigraphs and other stuff related to them, and the rest that contained all the stuff the Keepers had been storing for a thousand years. I reckon the first one was carefully screened through and stuff relating to hemalury taken out before the general public got to read any of it.
  4. I'm fairly sure that particular bit of information would not have been made public, and anyway, nobody's getting any atium unless Sazed gives it to them, which he is apparently only doing for Marsh.
  5. Kelsier talks to Spook a couple of times after the spike is pulled out, and Brandon has confirmed that Kelsier actually did talk to Spook during those times. The times when the spike was in *was* Ruin though. And Vin didn't read Elend's mind, she lead him to find the atium reserves by putting an image of the cave in his mind and calling his name.
  6. I kinda figured Harmony could talk to Wax because Wax has faith in him and the earrings are just symbolic rather then actually hemalurgically charged. We see Vin talking to Elend a bit when she takes the power of Preservation because Elend has faith in her, and Kelsier actually did talk to Spook a few times while piggybacking his mind on the same power.
  7. it's explicitly stated that only the feruchemist that stored an attribute can tap it and that appears to hold true with an allomancer trying to get the power by burning the storage. Also, TLR was most likely drawing from his atium bracers to stay young and not burning atium at that particular time.
  8. I was actually thinking the same thing that they might be plotting hemalurgic shenanigans. Breeding an army of allomancers seems like it would take too long, but if you use hemalurgy to transfer a bunch of powers into one person........
  9. Haha, I totally called that one too. As for Sazed being able to read minds, noooooo idea. Also, Scadrial does not have a moon apparently.
  10. my reaction *explodes* I read it in a day, it's been ages since I read a book in a day, of course the fact that I've been on airplanes and in airports all day does have something to do with it, but still..... I also agree that it was the cop that got kandra'd obviously Harmony wants Wax to stick around and have a free hand investigating things, so he had the obstructive cop offed and replaced.
  11. my dad has just borrowed my copy, so I can't quote it exactly, but there's a bit where Marasi tells Wayne basically "I think you deserve to get blown up every now and again." I'm not sure that's appropriate for signing a book with though.
  12. Marasi, Steris is no fun.
  13. I agree that Kaladin will end up with a Shardblade and Shardplagte eventually. but it won't happen for a few books. I think a Shard-naginata (Japanese weapon that's basically a spear with a short sword blade on the end) would be awesome, but I don't know if that will happen. Who says Midnight Essence isn't part of Odium's power?
  14. WoB = Word of Brandon. DiG = Designated Information Gatherer Also, it occurs to me that if Grumpy is Galladon, then one of the other two might be Adien, the autistic kid. Also Nazh is clearly not an Elantrian, unless he's using a pseudonym as the name is neither Aonic nor Dula. Also, I really don't think Hoid is the one writing the AA, he really doesn't seem to be into traditional scholarly pursuits. He's way to busy running around meddling.
  15. I can't get Alloy of Law until Thurs at the earliest because I'm currently in Brazil and won't be back in NA until Thursday morning and back home til late Thursday night. I'm hoping I will be absurdly lucky and they will have it in a bookstore in the Miami or Dallas airports, but I doubt it, so I will probably have to pick up a copy at Chapters on Friday.
  16. well atium works in Allomancy, so I don't see why lerasium wouldn't work in hemalurgy.
  17. well I would think that there's a point where even the stapled bits of Preservation aren't enough to let the cat survive having tons of spikes in them. because there probably has to be at least some organic tissue left. But who knows where that point is, experiments must be done, FOR SCIENCE!
  18. you could always embed some of them in the internal organs, I think there are some bind points in those, that would free up some surface area.
  19. dogs are loud and smelly, the Cat Inquisition would hear them coming from three miles away.
  20. 10 seems to be a signature of Roshar in general.
  21. I made my dad read the Mistborn trilogy, and my dad's friend has read the first two so far.
  22. No, Endowment is still alive, and gives up some of it's power to make the Divine Breaths, it can do that because of the intent of the Shard.
  23. Voidbinding is mentioned twice in the book, once by an ardent, and once in the Ars Arcanum.
  24. actually, it's 500 days and the days are shorter then our days by about 20 percent, so the year is only about 10 percent longer then ours.
  25. actually, Syl says at one point that she was attracted to him during the time he was in the army, because he was protecting young soldiers in general, so presumably after Tien died.
