  1. Hello Erin, I hope you will create more Sanderson related music in the future.
  2. it does seem notable that Szeth's eyes become "sapphire" when he uses his Blade and that sapphire is the gem associated with the Windrunner order.
  3. I think the Stone Shamans must have access to some kind of magic, otherwise how could they possibly reclaim a Shardblade from somebody awesome enough to kill Szeth. Not like you can just sneak in and steal the thing.
  4. Or it's possible that Brandon changed his mind sometime between writing the annotations and the release of the pendant text.
  5. Hello, it's a pity you did not like Warbreaker, although admittedly it's rather stylistically different then the rest of Brandon's books. I hope you will read WoK soon, as it is made of win and awesome.
  6. The Shardblade is connected with his punishment somehow, he's specifically not allowed to give it up, even if somebody orders him to give it up, that suggests it's somehow connected with being Truthless, but there's one line from Taravangian about Szeth having been given the Blade by his people, which suggests that carrying it is actually part of his punishment, rather then the cause of it. OF course T. could have been wrong, but Szeth didn't correct him.
  7. the Aon means hope, and I don't think it actually has anything to do with the Shardholder, although I invented a fun story about Ati and Aona being lovers before the whole thing with Adonalsium happened. But that's just me being silly.
  8. Brandon explicitly said that the stories about the beheading and being burned down to a skeleton were exaggerated. It's in the annotations, somewhere.
  9. it's not "binary" it's hexadecimal, a multiple of 16.
  10. Hello, just a heads up, stay off the "General Theories" board til you've read the Mistborn trilogy, Warbreaker, and TWoK (Warbreaker may be found for free on Brandon's website if you didn't already know), spoilers abound and most of the topics won't make much sense til you've finished Mistborn and TwoK anyway. Oh, and watch out for Chaos.
  11. I'm just going with what Brandon said and trying to think what his most impressive abilities were and that's what I came up with. And I note that we've not seen anybody else use Allomancy and Feruchemy together in the way TLR did (the Inquisitors in HoA could have done it but didn't have the experience and anyway they were getting most of the powers from spikes, and the allomantic spikes were from reduced-power Allomancers}, so we really have no way to gauge what could be accomplished with a pure allomancy/feruchemy combo without spikes so we don't know which of TLR's abilities were extraordinary even from a Lerasium-Mistborn/Feruchemist abusing the combinations.
  12. well in all three examples, the Shard connected to the pool is hampered in some way, Preservation's cognitive force was tied up imprisoning Ruin, and the SFHA is Splintered. Maybe the power just naturally coalesces into pools (at least partially) when there is no proper direction for it.
  13. I'm going to suggest that he did know, and one of those bracers was enhancing his use of gold Feruchemy, we've been told he used Hemalurgy to pull off his most spectacular tricks and his rapid healing from serious injuries was certainly impressive. the other would be enhancing his age trick.
  14. the atium bracers were also spikes. Brandon said so. and I believe it was implied that TLR got his allomantic strength from the WoA somehow. And yeah, he may well have been a savant in a number of metals.
  15. I also agree. and I think it's cause he wasn't sure who the letter was written to.
  16. Kaladin called him just "Kholin" at least once.
  17. mmmm....chicken *noms*
  18. Hello, welcome to the nuthouse. Enjoy your stay, and watch out for Chaos. He will stalk you, then spike you.
  19. I think the reason for the first bit is that spikes that contain "human attributes" rather then actual allomatic and feruchemical powers tend to distort the recipient physically and mentally much more see the koloss. He didn't want to distort Penrod in a way that would be immediately obvious.
  20. I would get the hardback edition, the paperback edition doesn't include the artwork that's on the inside covers of the hardback, you can download it from Brandon's website, but it's more convenient to have it all in one place. The ebook edition is missing all the artwork on the covers and the interior.
  21. we have Endowment which is basically "giving".
  22. I don't like Macs, but still the guy was pretty amazing to start such a successful company and the world will miss him.
  23. death by BRAZIL, where I am going tomorrow, for a month.
  24. as long as we are talking about things to put on fries, and on behalf of all Canadians I feel obliged to post this recipe for poutine..
  25. I'm going to give you the standard warning about staying off the general theories board til you've finished all Brandon's adult orientated books because the General Theories board is chalk full of spoilers for any and all of Brandon's books. And stay off the boards for any books you haven't finished reading also. Anyway welcome, I'm the resident crazy Canadian.
