  1. Brandon has said the beheading was an exaggeration, and that even TLR couldn't have survived a total beheading.
  2. haha, that was me that asked about the earring. he wrote some more information about it in the book, apparently Inquisitor spikes got melted down and reforged to make earrings. edit: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/0bzgNhIx95s" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> youtube video of the Q&A session.
  3. actually it was said somewhere after that that the mists did occasionally affect the nobles, most of the nobles with allomantic potential had enough to be snapped by a beating, but a few of them had less then that but enough to be snapped by the mists. The initial impression that they weren't affected at all was in error.

that was posted in the HoA spoiler thread at TWG, I assume that was "as of the end of HoA", he might have decided to give some to Marsh at least since then.
  5. which is why he melted down old Inquisitor spikes instead, which is what Brandon wrote in my book.
  6. I got my dad to record the Q&A session (which was short) I will upload it to youtube soonish. We didn't stay after I got my book signed unfortunately so I didn't have much chance to overhear anything interesting.
  7. I asked Brandon at his signing in Vancouver today what metal the earring is made of, he wouldn't tell me that, but he DID confirm that it has a slight hemalurgic charge. Also, it seems that a lot of Pathians may have hemalurgic earrings, if not all of them, as they apparently melted down Inquisitor spikes to make earrings.
  8. tin, either allomantic or ferchemical would be invaluable to a sniper, obviously. Especially feruchemical, store up eyesight for days or weeks in preparation for that one perfect shot.
  9. Wax did manage to blow up a lot of random objects, including a building while trying to stop the Vanisherrs lol.
  10. Yeah, I figured he probably swallowed a metalmind or two. Sazed actually hides a metalmind by swallowing it at one point (In TFA).
  11. Brandon has said he'd like to write more about Wax eventually, so the loose ends will probably be tied eventually. Unless he does a prequel instead of a sequel.
  12. The going theory is that Wax's earring in particular is hemalurgically charged. Probably true that they aren't generally hemalurgically charged.
  13. yeah the Dawnshards are different then the Honorblades, also there are multiple Dawnshards as Honor/The Almighty refers to them in the plural in Dalinar's last vision.
  14. it's awesome to have it confirmed that there's only one Shard on Nalthis.

I definitely think there must have been more going on there then meets the eye, maybe it was Marsh's fault, he seems to be more willing to get directly involved then Sazed himself. Although Marsh would also be less able to predict what Wax would do.....unless maybe he used the Duraluminum/Atium trick?
  16. I did too, I was like D'OH!
  17. behold my horrible Paint drawing skills!
  18. that was the impression I got too, also Brandon says that after the kandra pulled out the spikes and got them put back in, they would retain most of their memories but some might get lost.
  19. I always thought it's just that it takes that many to make them fully sentient.
  20. I'm going to agree with this, it seems the easiest way to explain how it works. Although, what would happen if you created a speed bubble inside a stopped train which then began moving? Does this theory still work if the train speeds up or slows down while the bubble is up (obviously this is more of an issue with Cadmium rather then bendalloy as the latter the bubble won't last long enough in real time for the train to accelerate or decelerate much....) acceleration provides an outside frame of reference that makes you aware of motion. Or something, I am jetlaggged and maybe not making sense.
  21. that was a question that somebody here was going to ask.
  22. Brandon has actually explained why Allomancy is of Preservation, the explanation is in the "ultimate list of questions for Brandon" thread.
  23. Remember that Pathians don't keep the earrings in all the time, and they leak power when not in a body, so they couldn't be that weak, otherwise they'd become useless pretty quickly.
  24. giving people mundane attributes using hemalurgy actually distorts the recipient physicallly and mentally worse then giving them allomantic or feruchemical abilities so I don't think he'd do that, he might give non-allomancers spikes made from an aluminum or duraluminum gnat since that would never be noticed in somebody with no other allomantic powers. Was it ever mentioned what the earring was made of?
  25. I think he just meant that Kelsier would have liked what Wax did, not that Kelsier is still around, I should think Kell has moved on by now to the real afterlife, although maybe not, he's a nosy little meddler.
