  1. given the fact that these people are currently engaged in fighting over creatures with gemstones inside them the size of somebody's head, I think the normal sizes of gemstones are a moot point.
  2. something I just thought of for use of copper ferrings, they would make good spies/infiltrators not just because they could store any conversations they overheard, but also because before going on a mission they could store any sensitive information they knew about the group that they were working for that they didn't need to accomplish the immediate mission and leave the metalmind someplace secure, so if they were captured they wouldn't be able to give up very much information.
  3. how's Kaladin going to get hold of Szeth's rock in the middle of the fight? It's all the way over in Khaarbanth(spelling) with King T. more likely Kaladin and Adolin will beat the crap out of Szeth and chain him to a wall, then they will find out about the rock, and somebody will go steal it. or Szeth will finally just say "screw this crap" and join up with Team Honour and Justice of his own free will.
  4. I'm dreaming of a spiked Christmas!
  5. I'd assume purity does matter, probably it affects how much you can store in a particular piece of metal.
  6. Can't help you with the American/British thing, as I'm Canadian and we use a mix of both, but nobody here is going to get too worked up about it. hope you enjoy Warbreaker, and the rest of Brandon's books if you decide to read them.
  7. Farewell Silus, safe travels and good luck.
  8. Mine's not an IN but I like it. I think I will stick "The Illogical One" in my usertitle just for fun when this is over. PS; have a pickle. I added 2 and 2 to get it.
  9. I don't really like "Surge", it just rubs me the wrong way for some reason, I prefer Condense, like people were talking about on the other thread, cause you're condensing all the stored attribute into a quick flash of power.
  10. actually Roshar is in the same solar system as the planet whose name I forgot where the unpublished Silence Divine takes place.
  11. yeah, that's completely and utterly unexpected. Also I recall Brandon saying that King T. would be a viewpoint character at some point, that 'effect' could make him an 'interesting' viewpoint.
  12. air is a valid soulcasting target, but it seems that when soulcasting stuff out of air you are limited to creating relatively simple things, a bridge is apparently too complicated to soulcast from air.
  13. that line about "interesting things" just sent my mind straight into the gutter. Yet more evidence of my complete lack of maturity.
  14. exactly, the body has instincts that mean allomancers don't unconsciously burn metals that will make them sick, but similar to how people can chose to not eat when hungry, or to stuff themselves till they get sick, or to stay up all night, an allomancer can override their body's instincts.
  15. given Spook's experience with being spiked and brainwashed by Ruin, I doubt he'd blame Marsh for anything, still, most people wouldn't understand about what happened, and would just have seen a scary Inquisitor, so obviously Marsh stayed away for the benefit of the common people's comfort.
  16. Happy belated birthday Peter.
  17. Brandon has said that it's possible for somebody who isn't a Herald to use one of the Honorblades, what consequences that would have for said person is unknown.
  18. I think that makes sense, but it is not confirmed, and some people disagree.
  19. actually there's a typo in the AA, "Learned/Giving" is actually associated with the 5th order.
  20. I think it's an extremely good guess, and makes perfect sense.
  21. I'm not smart, I'm just obsessed. . Anyway, welcome!
  22. well I don't think it's a matter of bloodlines, but of having a bond with a spren and saying the Ideals.
  23. nah, only the First generation did, the rest were just mistwraiths before they got spiked. And obviously the effects of hemalurgy are different on animals and mistwraiths, their souls and bodies are different.
  24. If I was in Rashek's place I'da buried the darn thing so deep that getting anywhere near it would require modern mining equipment, and then raised a mountain on top of it for good measure.
  25. Well the koloss are made with spikes stealing "human attributes" which explicitly twist the recipient more then spikes stealing allomantic or feruchemical powers, even just a couple of those can really mess with somebody.
