  1. I've read most of the older Pern books and enjoyed them quite a bit, RIP.
  2. I love reading your insights into this stuff, it's been a while since I was reading this stuff for the first time.
  3. yeah, I thought Ruin's "pool" was under the Pits too, so I'm a bit confused. They did do a good job of making the entire sequence of events incredibly creepy and disturbing, which is appropriate.
  4. I meant the really hot kind. And I don't like hot sauce.
  5. "unlucky" generally means bad luck, at least as far as I know, so I'm pretty sure that's what it mans, as for how it would affect you it would probably make your luck bad or good in bizarre ways.
  6. a lurnip is a turnip that helps you learn obviously!
  7. I'd be scared of a Weight compounder, we see Wax FLATTEN a building with weight and Pushing and that was just an amount of weight stored by normal means, a weight compounder could probably Pull buildings to bits for fun. also LMAO.
  8. I also assumed TLR just had a bunch of regular copperminds I think just about any Compounder is going to be bloody scary. Bendalloy and steel would also be epic because even in the time between dropping one bubble and putting up the next you could be moving too fast to get hit.
  9. and sadly the jokes about balls would get cut.
  10. wow I'm not the only one that thought about the Nazis as soon as that was brought up! Sadly I think the second trilogy is supposed to be more modern then that, but we could totally run a WW2-era equivalent game!
  11. I picked alloy of law cause I think it would be easier to make into a movie cause it's shorter and has more action scenes
  12. I'm pretty sure it was implied that holding the Shards would inherently change him eventually, they do that to their holders.
  13. maybe the coin would hit somebody the Ferring didn't like in the face XD.
  14. This. This is Brandon Sanderson people, if he doesn't come up with some way to twist things into a knot I'll eat my shoes. With hot sauce.
  15. yeah I'm pretty sure Preservation messed with the rules at some point.
  16. well we all know that a double Chromium Twinborn would be a Scadrialan version of Mat Bloody Cauthon.
  17. Brandon has been working closely with the creators of the RPG throughout so I'm sure he's at least read it and critiqued it.
  18. actually Brandon said that it's possible to charge a spike from somebody without killing them. And I would guess that the "donor" in such a situation would lose most, if not all of the power.
  19. this, Wayne is utterly hilarious..."I bought a ward against logic from a traveling fortune-teller, it lets me add two 'n two and get a pickle.".
  20. I agree, Breath can be removed then replaced with no permanent ill effects, and is given away freely, and without trauma, with hemalurgy even if the "donor" lives they are going to end up with something equivalent to a big bleeding hole in their soul from having part of it forcibly ripped away. Which can't be good for their long-term happiness and sanity, and unlike Breath, the ripped off piece can't be replaced, except maybe by Act of Shard.
  21. He was also using hemalurgy to pull off some of the really crazy stuff he did, according to Brandon, so yeah, he did it for the power boost. which was kind of dumb, but there you go.
  22. I think it's MaeLan, but I don't have my book with me (loaned it to somebody) so I can't check the spelling. Also, Wax was right, lol, did not expect that.
  23. haha we were right about that cop getting replaced by a kandra! Also, Kell is *still* interfering? Wonder how he's managing that?
  24. I'm pretty sure he wasn't burning those metalminds, he was just just tapping them and storing little bits of health in gold nuggets to compound.
