  1. Brandon did say that there are ways to get all the magic systems to work on any world, though some are trickier then others, I'd imagine AonDor would be one of the trickier ones to get working on other worlds, but somebody who knows enough to worldhop in the first place might well be able to work it out.
  2. Mistborn takes place after Elantris.
  3. this is probably true, though I don't think Dalinar will be able to do anything about it openly for political reasons (people are already spreading tons of rumors about him, and thinking he's unhinged or something, it'd get worse if he takes the guy seriously when everybody else thinks he's a random crazy dude.), buuuuut he might discreetly send somebody *cough*Kaladin*cough* to find out more about the guy, and then interesting stuff will happen.
  4. well the WoK Prelude takes place 4500 years before the main body of the text, and Elantris takes place 500 years before WoK, so we know Elantris takes place at least 4000 years PS. And I'm going to hazard a guess that it's much longer then that, but that's the minimum.
  5. I don't think we know nearly enough about how fabrials work to say that.
  6. Brandon said that Shardblades are "mostly" immune to Pushing and Pulling, also TLR was able to push on metals inside Vin's stomach, so it does seem to be a matter of strength, presumably a Lerasium mistborn, or a lesser one using Duralunium would be able to push on a Shardblade. Brandon said that Ruin and Preservation could each power all the metallic arts, he didn't say anything about whether other shards might be able to power them, or if R&P could fuel other magic. And I interpreted that line about none of the Investitures being evil the same way you did.
  7. It's not necessary that the kandra that don't work for Harmony are evil, they could have just been like, "I'd rather find a secluded place to live and plant beans.". Although some of the free kandra might be evil.
  8. irrelevancies and redundancies
  9. I agree, the Calories thing is really awesome, PERFECT DIET PLAN. Eat all you want and never get fat!
  10. I also don't think Hoid is the type to sit around and write essays. And I definitely want to know what the proper definition of Investiture is.
  11. this was my theory, about the Shardpools forming naturally when a shard is unable to function fully, on the first page, which everybody ignored, because I am apparently chopped liver.
  12. I suppose it might be alright if it were done as part of a "living will", say somebody had an allomantic or feruchemical power that they wanted to "donate" to somebody else upon their death, they could write it as part of a "living will" that if they are ever terminally ill or brain dead or whatever they want to be stabbed to death with a spike to take the power so it can be given to the person they designate.
  13. Sauron to Isenguard.
  14. I believe Sanderson has said that he wanted to leave it up to the readers whether Vin and Elend got brought back, and what they did after they got brought back if they were brought back, rather then setting things in stone. In other words, he's leaving us some fanfic room.
  15. the nightwatcher doesn't always give you what you asked for, she gives you what she wants to give you, but Dalinar says he knows what his boon was. So yeah, I don't think the Nightwatcher gave his surgebinding powers either. And if he isn't already bonded to spren, he will be shortly I'd imagine, possibly giving up his shards will allow him to attract a spren, since we know Syl doesn't like Shardblades, Dalinar's having the shards may have been preventing him from attracting a spren. He may attract a different kind of spren then Kaladin, he doesn't seem as fixated on protecting as Kaladin is, what he's fixated on at the end of the book is building a proper alliance between the highprinces. I think Resolute/Builder the characteristics for the 8th order fit him.
  16. incredibly delicious so
  17. ..or maybe it's because women are smarter then men *ducks* kidding, kidding, don't kill me! I'm going to note that what the ardents think voidbinding does and what it actually does may not be very close.
  18. The Returned are not silvers, the Divine Breaths that power then are Splinters of Endowment.
  19. I suspect the Heralds were like "hi guys, here's some awesome weapons and armour for you guys to use to smite bad guys, and here's a book that tells you how we want you to act." Only more eloquently then that. and you got all the visions, Thor.
  20. this is the most awesome theory ever, You win 1000 internets. It's very unlikely, but that doesn't stop it from being epic.
  21. ate the door
  22. indeed Dalinar himself notes that the visions are not in exact chronological order.
  23. which Hoid opened
  24. I heard it's 500 years between Elantris and Way of Kings, with Warbreaker taking place a few hundred years before WoK. Elantrians are not as immortal as Returned and others of the Fifth Heightening, because they are subject to diseases, like the heart problem that killed Galladon's father, but they may be ageless, I don't think it's been made clear, certainly they live significantly longer then regular humans. And unfortunately we aren't supposed to discuss details of unpublished works that aren't available to the general public.
  25. maybe you could use silver, which is a lot less dangerous then lead.
